For Now and Forever (The Inn at Sunset Harbor-Book 1) by Sophie Love

Emily Mitchell, 35, living and working in New York City, has struggled through a string of failed relationships. When her boyfriend of 7 years takes her out for their long-awaited anniversary dinner, Emily is sure that this time will be different, that this time she will finally get the ring.

When he gives her a small bottle of perfume instead, Emily knows the time has come to break up with him—and for her entire life to have a fresh start.

Reeling from her unsatisfying, high-pressure life, Emily decides she needs a change. She decides on a whim to drive to her father’s abandoned home on the coast of Maine, a sprawling, historic house where she’d spent magical summers as a child. But the house, long-neglected, is in dire need of repair, and the winter is no time to be in Maine. Emily hasn’t been there in 20 years, when a tragic accident changed her sister’s life and shattered her family. Her parents divorced, her father disappeared, and Emily was never able to bring herself to step foot in that house again.

Now, for some reason, with her life reeling, Emily feels drawn to the only childhood place she ever knew. She plans on going just for a weekend, to clear her head. But something about the house, its numerous secrets, its memories of her father, its oceanfront allure, its small-town setting—and most of all, its gorgeous, mysterious caretaker—doesn’t want to let her leave. Can she find the answers she’s been looking for here, in the most unexpected place of all?

Can a weekend become a lifetime?

FOR NOW AND FOREVER is book #1 in the debut of a dazzling new romance series that will make you laugh, make you cry, will keep you turning pages late into the night—and will make you fall in love with romance all over again.

Book #2 will be available soon.

Too many unanswered questions. An unknown "ballroom" with stained glass windows? And nobody knew of this room.... even from the outside? I feel as tho I wasted an afternoon.

What a great start to what looks to be a very intriguing series. I fell in love with Emily’s new-found independence. Her determination to clean up the wreck that is the former summer home of her childhood is so well-described I felt as if I’d known Emily for a long time. I love all the characters and their small-town brand of meddling. The mystery is there, and I do hope that we eventually learn what happened to Emily’s father. I’m eager to begin reading number 2.

This is my 1st book by Sophie Love and I love it. It's one of those dreamy stories that romantics love to read. Now on to Book 2.

A very hard novel to put down. Basically about a female getting tired of her current life and looking for facts about an incident from her early teens. She looks for the last part in her families summer resort home located on the coast of Maine.

I'm smiling as i write this, so you know it was a sweet ending. Definitely well rounded story. I was happy, sad, angry and annoyed! Looking forward to book 2 ; )

I stopped at Chapter 3. Chapter 2 was completely missing from my copy, but I'm assuming I didn't miss much. So, she's driving in February, along the east coast, in bare feet? After throwing her shoes and jacket out the window? Mmmkay. Totally normal. Then when she gets out after her car breaks down, no mention of bare feet. So little attention to detail in this book. When she arrives at the house, she just walks right in? No key? That's as far as I made it. This was an eye roller for me.

Easy to read book. At first I thought it was going to be about a summer fling love.... but it kept me captive.

This book is not really a romance story. But more of a finding ones self book. I enjoyed the read. Though there is a continuation of the story in book two, I didn’t feel like it ended on a cliffhanger. It’s nicely wrapped up. Good ending.

Emily has left New York to find herself. What starts out as a weekend getaway turns into the start of a new life. This is a well written adventure for Emily with interesting and exciting characters to bring her back to life.

I enjoyed this book. It was written in a way which helped you understand what the author was telling us about each character. Want to read the whole trilogy.

While I enjoyed thus book while I was reading it, it ended abruptly and there were way too many unanswered questions. I understand that they were leading in to the next book, but this one felt incomplete and, honestly, I am not interested in paying money to find the answers at least some of which should have been answered here. Also. The town's swift an complete instant dislike for Emily changing to total acceptance and support just because she threw a party? No, I have lived in plenty of small towns and just don't see a complete turnaround happening like that. Especially when they have upposedly held grudges against Daniel for 20 years...

Both Emily and Daniel were pretty annoying through most of the book, short tempered and overactive. I think that may have been intentional with Emily having a'New York 'attitude to overcome. I found it a bit over the top but not bad for a quick read
