About the Author

Pirkko Vainio was born in Finland in 1957. She attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki (1978-83). After graduating she moved to Florence, Italy, working as a graphic designer/illustrator and writer for children's books. Since 2009, she lives in Finland.
