I didn’t want to like Ford, but he earned his own story.

So glad I got to read about Ford. He became my favorite during the Rook and Ronin books, and I secretly hoped she would pick him. I just loved his character and I loved him even more after this book. Great books and writing!

Although books about Ford may not have been a part of the author's original plan, I'm glad she wrote this. Out of the three men in this series, Ford is my favorite. Until I got far enough into Taut to want Ashleigh to get her HEA, I was wishing there would be another series in which Rook and Ronin grew apart and Rook and Ford got together. The most important thing I wanted out of Ford's books was to see the relationship between Rook and Ford be repaired. I guessed the truth about Tony fairly early in the story but it does make a very touching scene. I plan to read more from this author after reading this series.

I loved Ford in the Rook and Ronin series and was secretly pulling for him. I'm so glad he got his own books, so we could see more about him. The books kept me on the edge of my seat! Love them!

I was always intrigued by Ford's character in the TRAGIC series and love how he is developed in this book. The author tells you he's her favorite and you can tell. You've just gotta read it!

Good book, good writing. Interesting POV from Ford, who has asperger syndrome ( as told in book #2 of series.) The romance was charming but, Tony's secret is transparent. The ending was a bit of a shocker but, the last chapter was so sweet. I enjoyed this story and recommend this book. S.A.K.

4.5 Stars The Ford bundle is two books by JA Huss in one! You get Slack, the 77 page novella spanning one day in the life of Ford. Basically a quick look in for readers that might not know him from the Rook & Ronin trilogy. The second book Taut is the full length 325 page novel containing Ford’s story. If you’ve read the Rook & Ronin trilogy I consider this mandatory secondary reading. Ford is a standalone novel so you don’t have to have read Rook & Ronin first, but trust me you should. After reading the Rook & Ronin series but before starting this Ford spin off, I though I might just love Ford a tiny bit, but I was also worried I might hate him a whole lot too. I thought I liked him, but I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to love him or his story. I can’t tell you why, I was just nervous. Once I started reading it made me feel so bad for Ford, but I also felt like he was painting Rook in a really bad light. Almost as if he thought Rook toyed with him on purpose and was completely and madly in love with him. I don’t know I just never got that vibe from Rook during her trilogy. I couldn’t figure out if Ford was just delusional about the whole situation or if I had completely misread Rook in the earlier books. Thankfully, Ford does pull his head out of his ass and gets a better grip on reality. I loved Ashleigh our heroine, I think she was absolutely perfect for Ford. I wrote that down more than once in my reading notes. Ashleigh would do or say something and I was like “Yes! Just what Ford needed.” I loved when she would put him in his place and then Ford would admit (even if only to himself) that Ashleigh had won. It was just such a big step and so cute coming from Ford. Every time it happened it made me fall for Ford just a bit more. Look for Ford to be a book boyfriend in our future. And in case you didn’t catch my quick mention of it above, yes we get Ford’s point of view during this story. Really I don’t think the story could have been told as well as it was without being able to read from both characters. While reading the Ford Bundle I slowly fell in love with Ford himself. I don’t know why I was worried I should have trusted JA Huss to bring me out the other side. Ford says and thinks some hilarious things that I just couldn’t help love him for it. I mean the sphere of privacy… LOVE IT! I felt like while reading I could actually see/feel Ford falling for them both. It isn’t an insta-love, even if it happens fast, but you can see each time Ford grows a little as a person and makes a connection with Ashleigh. I loved being able to read a caring and loving Ford it was just what I wanted. I literally could not stop smiling during this book, even in the sad or more emotinal parts because I knew that they’d pull each other out of it and end up together. I didn’t want to put this book down. I’ll admit I did see one of the big “twist” coming from pretty much the first mention. I kept holding out hope that I would be wrong and we’d actually get some awesome secret agent story line or something, but sadly we don’t. I was just sad because I feel like we don’t leave the couple as happy as they could be. Ashleigh will still need time to heal and I guess we just expect Ford to deal with it while she does. I would have liked to see her 100% in. While I didn’t like this aspect of the story, it didn’t take away from my love of the book as a whole. And no, I can’t tell you. Read the story, come find me on facebook and we’ll secretively discuss there. Basically, I loved Ashleigh and Ford, especially Ford’s good side. He couldn’t have had that with Rook and I think Ford left this story understanding that. Seriously, check out Ford, regardless of whether or not you’ve read the Rook & Ronin series. I can’t wait to start the next stand alone which is Spencer’s story, Guns. I want to see the team back together again.
