Overview

This practical resource provides you with a solid understanding of the essential engineering and mathematical fundamentals associated with communications electronic warfare (EW) systems. From an introduction to jamming and the properties of signals and systems, to channel coding and pulsed jamming, you get comprehensive coverage of the basics of EW systems, and find details on critical design factors.

This authoritative book teaches you how to analyze the performance of EW systems, determine the required jamming power versus stand-off range for ground-based and airborne jammers, and establish the sensitivity required to intercept targets. Focusing on 2-person game theory, this informative reference explains how to optimize EW systems. The book presents practical design constraints to help you identify and evaluate fundamental tradeoffs at the system design stage. You also find coverage of information theory which forms the underlying theoretical basis for communications EW systems.
