Valentine finds herself on a ship bound for Cairo so the Contessa can hunt down a thief at one of her archeological digs there. Before they ever get close to the coast of Egypt, however, the ship is threatened by a violent storm and someone has an ulterior motive for sticking close to the Contessa and her traveling companions.

Mr. Maxwell is assigned to protect the Contessa and the charming Valentine. He tries to keep his distance, but her warm nature and easy laugh draw him in. He soon comes to cherish their time together, until someone attempts to drug him, and the aftermath reveals serious consequences for Valentine. He'll do anything to keep her safe and her reputation intact, yet with treachery on board and his heart at stake, Mr. Maxwell must make a choice that will change his life forever. Can he win the woman of his dreams or will whoever wants to hurt them get close enough to take away his one chance for love?

I had my reservations at first, having read a rather silly novella/story, by the author previously, but this was surprisingly delightful! It was for sure a highly improbable farce, but it was so unexpected and sweet a way to go the improbable route that I quite enjoyed it. I think this must be the sequel to another story so I will try and find it next. Recommend.

What a great start for the Timeless Romance Singles series! The story was well developed and interesting, with some clever elements. There was plenty of romance, and a bit of suspense as well. The characters were great! I immediately fell in love with Valentine. She had such an enthusiasm for life and everything around her. Max was a dashing hero, with a few rough edges to make him interesting. I loved how protective he was of Valentine. The rest of the characters rounded out the cast quite nicely. This was a quick read, and a great way to spend an afternoon. I loved it! I received a complimentary copy of the book. I have given my honest opinion.

From Cairo, With Love was the perfect novella—just long enough to completely tell the story and short enough for those times when you want to sit once and finish a book. Nancy created two great characters, Valentine a spunky independent woman ready to conquer Max, a rough pugilist. Their romance was sweet and perfectly developed. The story line surrounding them was a good backdrop of characters, historical setting and comedy.

I liked it! I’m not familiar with other works by author Nancy Campbell Allen but I really enjoyed From Cairo, With Love, the first Timeless Romance Single released. This story introduces us to Valentine who travels to Italy for adventure and to accompany her cousin’s mother-in-law the Countess to Cairo, all expenses paid. What better opportunity for a penniless young woman to see an exotic part of the world. Enter Maxwell, escort to the Countess and Valentine, who wants nothing more than to assist his brother in Cairo. And the adventure begins. Allen has created a novella full of strong, realistic characters and an unpredictable plot that is entertaining and fun to read. This was a well written, fun, fast read. Heather B. Moore gave me a complimentary copy of From Cairo, With Love for my candid review.

I'm such a fan of well-written novellas! With how crazy life can get they are the perfect quick reading fix. From Cairo, With Love has all the elements for a successful novella- I felt like I was able to get to know the characters, the plot had a full arc, and the ending wrapped up nicely. Valentine is sweet and I loved her adventurous spirit. Her developing friendship and romance with Max was one that I enjoyed since they don't seem to be a typical match. The Contessa was fun and the action kept the story moving swiftly. A thoroughly satisfying read! (Thank you to the publisher for a copy of the book; this is my honest review)

Valentine is a sweet and innocent girl who longs for adventure. And boy, does she get it when she becomes the companion to an Italian countess and finds herself on a ship bound for Cairo. Her tongue is tied around handsome and daring Max, but an unlikely friendship develops, regardless. With danger on the high seas, life-altering choices, and a romance full of chemistry that will leave a reader swooning, this story packs a punch in such a short number of pages. I love quirky characters who allow their true colors to shine and there's no shortage of those in this book. Max doesn't hold a typical job or title, yet he's held in awe by his peers. Valentine is completely charming and sweeter than honey. The Contessa is wise, yet unorthodox, and is as engaging as the trio of young men who worm their way in. There's something about a romance that blooms from the seeds of attraction, but is almost forced open before its time, that really brings a smile to my face. The potential of those little interludes didn't disappoint and the results are very delightful. I love to swoon! The added element of suspense is very fitting to the story and gave it an added dimension that really enhanced the characters in their situations. Content: mild, swoony romance and mild innuendo; a few moments of suspense/danger/peril. *I received a complementary copy of this book. All views expressed are completely my own.*
