Overview

Get It On by J. Kenner

Fate's been messing with me. It took my buddies in combat and my wife in a fatal car accident. But I'll be damned if I'll let Fate take my beloved bar, The Fix on Sixth, so every bit of my focus is on saving my business.

Or it was. Because all that changed when the first woman who ever touched my heart walked back into my life--along with the daughter I never knew I had.

Eva's sensual curves and sharp wit still capture my heart and rekindle my senses. Now--for the first time in forever--I've found a passion that's worth fighting to keep other than my bar.

But Fate's not through yanking my chain, and in one final twist, it pits the bar I can't bear to lose against the woman who's stolen my heart.

5 Star Review Get It On (Man of the Month #5) by J Kenner The fifth book in the series and is Tyree and Eva’s story and oh what a story it was, decades in the making. This was a fun quick story which flowed well and was a wonderful read. The books in this series can easily be read as stand alone, but since they are not that long and a quick and easy read I would recommend you one click them all. What happens when fate (or a father interference) steps in and changes the course of a couple’s lives? That is the position Tyree and Eva find themselves in when Tyree is suddenly confronted by Elena, the daughter he never knew he had. Turns out Eva’s father led her to believe that Tyree had been killed in action before their daughter was born. If he wasn’t already dead I am not sure he would have survived both Tyree and Eva’s anger. After losing his wife in a car accident 7 years ago, Tyree Johnson has led a lonely existence. Not being able to move on , he has thrown himself into bringing up his son Eli and the bar he owns The Fix. When Eva, his first love, suddenly comes back into his life, he is ecstatic and yet conflicted too. He has always loved her, but he also loved his wife and was shattered when she died. I had already come to love the character of Tyree whilst reading the other books in the series but in Get It On, he really came into the spotlight. I loved Tyree and Eva separately but most especially together. Eva is a strong and independent woman who is absolutely suited to Tyree. This may well be my favourite book to date, maybe because this is a second chance at love, which is a genre I love, but this one was a more emotional read and I was totally invested in these two from the start. I devoured this book in one sitting and cannot wait for Mr.June so one click now and see what happens.

Book 5 in the Man of the Month Series and is this book we get to know what makes Tyree bar owner of The Fix tick, this was the story I have been waiting for because in all the previous books Tyree is in the background and for me he has become the mystery man of the series and I needed to know his story....... Tyree lost his wife seven years ago and since then running the bar and bringing up his son has been his sole purpose so when a young woman walks into the bar claiming to be his daughter he is stunned but when she tells him her name it all falls into place, he realises she is the daughter of the girlfriend he had when he joined the military the girlfriend he thought had moved on while he was active duty. Eva has spent the last 23 years believing Tyree had been killed in action so she was just as stunned to find out he was still alive, what follows is two people learning to know each other and falling in love again as well a siblings getting to know each other........ I love this series and I love that every book can be read as stand-alones, the characters are all very different and all have there own story to tell, I’m really looking forward to meeting Mr June.

Tyree has had it tough he has lost friends and his wife but not willing to give up he stands up to fate, but is fate messing with him in another way? Not willing to lose his bar The Fix on Sixth he is determined to keep the one thing that means so much to him but fate throws another curve ball his way when a blast from his past shows up and that's not all she has a kid vut is there something that Eva has been keeping from him?

Mr. May is all about The Fix on Sixth's bar owner, Tyree. Several years after his wife's death, Tyree still grieves for the love of his life, Teiko. Rather than just write a story about a man who finds a woman to help him move forward with his life, J Kenner goes much deeper with showing us more of the emotional issues Tyree struggles with in his romantic relationships. In a sense, I'm not sure if the romantic trope in this story is about second chance love or a love triangle of sorts. As a reader, I appreciated the author exploring how tough it is to deal with losing your spouse, finding a balance to honor the memory while also trying to move forward. Can't wait to glimpse how Tyree and Eva's renewed relationship grows as the series progresses!

Each month these books get better and better. This is book 5 and it was simply so heartwarming, touching me to my core. Such a sweet, emotional story. Truly loved it. As always, I cant pin point which I like because every month each book out does the last. This Tyree and Eva story. A 2nd chance love story. After spending years apart, Tyree and Eva find themselves back to where it ll began. Both were separated and never given the chance at their love. A bond kept them together even if one of them didn't know of this bond. This story blew me away. it was so sweet. so touching. But I found it to be soft for a J Kenner book, but man it was perfect. everything. they story line, the characters.

The 5th standalone set in the Man of the Month series! I was so looking forward to getting to know the owner of The Fix on Sixth a little better. I mean, Tyree has an amazing body, an absolute love for his bar, and he truly cares for the people he works with. That being said, Get It On just wasn't my favorite of the series. Don't get me wrong, I loved the main characters in the book, Tyree was dreamy, Eva was interesting, and Elena was spunky. However, I felt as if the reunion between these lost lovers was rushed, as was the ending. Also, the chemistry just felt off to me. That all said, I adore J. Kenner's writing, it's got this easy flow that makes you completely absorbed in the story. The conflict was interesting and different, and the sexy scenes were HOT. I'm loving the stories being intertwined, I can't wait for more!

Tyree Johnson is focusing on improving the Fix on Sixth, the bar he co-owns with his three business partners. They are determined to expand the business and generate enough revenue to be able to keep the doors open. The bar is Tyree’s life, it’s filled with people he considers his family and it’s definitely what I’ve come to like about this series. Tyree is a single father and a widow, he loved his wife and it’s hard for him to let her go. Amid preparation for the Man of the Month contest, Tyree finds out about long lost relatives, his first love, Eva and Elena, the daughter he didn’t know he had. Eva and Tyree were separated by lies and deception, but Elena tracked her father down, to reunite her family. These two old flames revisit the past and discover family secrets. They have the hardest time denying their feelings, under the watchful eyes of their two adult children. Their reunion was heartwarming! I loved this story of growing beyond your past and moving forward. It’s entertaining, emotional and well written. Tyree and Eva definitely deserved their HEA. This book was a great addition to the Man of the Month series!

Loved this second chance romance. Tyree has been through so much and I loved that things are starting to turn around for him. I was team Eva and Tyree from page one. These two prove that time and distance is no match for love, especially first love.

Get It On by J. Kenner is the fifth book in her new 12 book Man of the Month series. Told in dual POV this is where the owner of The Fix himself, Tyree, comes face to face with a past love and learns to open his heart again, not just with Eva but with their grown daughter that he only just found out existed. Tyree is blindsided by the knowledge that he has a daughter with Eva - the woman who broke his heart before he met his wife. With Teiko gone the past few years he has never really moved past losing her and he and his son, Elijah, have grown closer and gone through so much together since her death. Learning about his daughter, Elena, was a shock, but a pleasant surprise. Seeing Eva after all these years, however, left him speechless. Eva thought she had lost Tyree all those years ago and now that she knows the truth about the situation she is hesitant to make a move. Good thing for her and Tyree that their daughter, Elena, doesn't mind putting wither of them in the hot seat at all. Showing up in Austin felt like a mistake until it didn't and now she is willing to give his thing with them a chance. But is Tyree ready? Well-written and well-paced, this was another great read and I'm excited with how each of the upcoming characters are gently weaved into the plots in earlier stories without being obtrusive to the current story. Enjoy!

So far there is not a single word to describe this series as each book just becomes more fun loving and engaging that makes a person just want to sit down and read it from cover to cover. This is Tyree’s story and boy is it a doozie. Tyree is a man who has been tested by the world. His wife was killed seven years ago and he is on the verge of losing his bar, “The Fix on Sixth,” if he is unable to come up with the funds to pay off the mortgage. While working at the bar, a woman enters that bears a striking resemblance to the woman he loved as a young man. As he cannot be sure, he puts it out of his mind until the woman shows up again and claims that she is his daughter. As if needing confirmation, the woman of his past comes barreling in to stop the big reveal only to realize she is too late. How will Tyree react when he sees his former love Eva, the mother of his child? Can he move past the memories of his late wife? How will Tyree’s son deal with the information that he has a sister? Will Eva be able to have the life that she was denied so long ago? This is one book to one click and start reading asap and readers have the next man of the month book to look forward to. I volunteered to read an advanced copy of this book.

I’m normally not one for the older couples in Books, nothing against them, it’s just not my thing. But Tyree and Eva’s story was quite hot and awesome!! I LOVE The Fix crowd! And Elena and Eli are just amazing!!! I love how sneaky Elena is to try and get her parents together, especially since it’s been 20 years since they’ve seen each other. Just another great installment of the MotM calendar and club! I LOVE this series so much!!!

Tyree's story is the one that I have been anticipating next! Get It On was a great story. My heart was split in two once I read how he never got over his loss of his wife. What I did not expect was that his past went further than what was originally led on. Elena finds Tyree and drops the bomb shell that she is his daughter he has with Eva. When Eva and Tyree reunite again, I did not think that this relationship could work. They were hot and heavy one minute and then cold the next. But the back story will give you the reason why. Now will Eva and Tyree finally get together? Or are they just better as friends? I loved his daughter and son together! Elena had me laughing and I grew to love her character too. Get It On has a sprinkle of sexy, but a whole lot of emotional rebuilding. Can this second chance romance survive? I seriously cannot get enough of these men! Bring in Mr. June next!

Get It On is the fifth book in the Man of the Month Series by J. Kenner! This one is about Tyree, the owner of The Fix. What a man he is!!!! Life hasn’t always been kind to him. He lost his first love. He lost friends during his time in the military. When he met Teiko who would become his wife, he thought FINALLY…happiness. Life again took something from him…his Teiko whom he loved and adored. She took away the pain and rejection away and filled his life with joy and color. His only saving grace has been his son and his bar, The Fix. He is surviving, but he really isn’t living his life even though years have passed since he lost her. Just when he thinks fate has left him alone, he doesn’t realize life has a huge surprise for him in the form of his first love, Eva, and a daughter he never knew he had. This is NOT your average second chance love story, and that is what made me LOVE IT! Tyree is older and still as sexy as ever. It wasn’t just his good looks that drew me to him, but it was more his heart and his ability to get up and move forward instead of laying down in the face of opposition. He does hesitate with Eva, but it isn’t because he doesn’t love her or trust her, he feels like he is betraying Teiko. Yeah, he has been with other women, but none of them had his heart like these two women did. I was so glad that Kenner didn’t diminish his love for his wife when Eva came back into the picture. She honored their love and marriage. Tyree is also an amazing father to his son with Teiko and to Elena, his daughter with Eva. Again, Kenner made me happy! He immediately loved Elena even though he never knew of her existence until she was an adult. His bond with his children also makes him incredibly sexy. There is nothing better than a father who loves his kids. I respected Eva as well. Life for her wasn’t easy. She was betrayed in the worst way by someone she loved and trusted, totally taking away her chance of happiness with Tyree. That part of the book actually brought tears to my eyes. Like Tyree, she concentrates on raising her daughter, never letting fate completely overwhelm her. She amazed me with her patience. She never rushed Tyree, and she respected his love for Teiko. She is beautiful, smart, artistic, and so incredibly strong. There was plenty of sexy moments between them, but I enjoyed their sweeter moments too. It was a treat seeing them getting to know each other again and falling in love. Not only was the story about them, but their children. I loved that Eli and Elena accepted each other the way they did. One of the great things about this series are the different characters that are weaved into each book. That made me feel like I was a part of their group. Kenner does a great job of setting us up for her next book in the series with the epilogue! Really looking forward to that one!!!! ****Read and Reviewed for Devilishly Delicious Book Reviews****

This series is turning out to be my favorite escape every two weeks. The stories are somewhat short and fun to read with just the right amount of heartbreak to make them irresistible. And Get It On is not an exception. Tyree and Eva are two fun and strong characters that will intrigue you from the very start. Though their life was thrown out if it's axes years ago and broke their hearts to pieces, faith, in the guise of their daughter, has thrown them back together. And when old feelings start to resurface, there is not much either of them can do. I have to say though that my favorite part of the book was Emilia. She was simply hilarious and she won my heart from the very start. I loved her thirst for life and the "take no prisoners" attitude. And her scheming ways made me laugh on more that one occasion :) So if you haven't started the series yet, you can just jump in here. Each story is a standalone though with intertwining characters, so you might want to read them in order. But if you feel like jumping in and starting with Tyree and Eva's story, I am sure you won't regret it :)

I struggled to get through this book. I think what made it hard for me was the age gap between myself and the characters and their storyline in general. I couldn’t place myself there. Tyree and Eva are a second chance romance secret baby story. There is guilt for Tyree for feeling as if he’s dishonoring his first wife’s memory. As I said, there were a lot things that it difficult to get through the story due to relate ability

Get it On is the next book in J. Kenner's Man of the Month series and this one is about the owner of The Fix on Sixth himself, Tyree Johnson. We know from previous books that Tyree lost the love of his life, his wife Teiko, in a car accident and is raising their teenage son Eli on his own. What we didn't know is that Tyree had a love in his youth, Eva, who he had lost after shipping out. When his adult daughter, Elena, shows up to meet him, his world is rocked. Eva is not far behind Elena, one she finds out her daughter has gone to meet the dad she only has stories about, and once Tyree and Eva see each other its not long until the years that have past melt away and their love rekindles. J. Kenner does a good job making sure that Tyree's wife, who passed away, is not just ignored as the past. Tyree's love for both Teiko and Eva are something he has to reconcile. Lucky for him he has a devious matchmaker in Elena who wants to see her parents get back together. I felt the path that Tyree takes gives his renewed relationship with Eva more meaning. His love for her is both old and new. They have history together and apart. Overall I very much enjoyed Get it On by J. Kenner. I have liked all the books in this series and since Tyree's character has been integral in past books it was nice to see him get his happily ever after. This was a very deep, complex and romantic book which I definitely recommend. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

Another 5 star read in the awesome Man of the Month series! Tyree and Eva's story is a bittersweet second chance romance of two people kept apart by lies. These two are sizzling hot together and make a great couple. Tyree's story is one of love lost and found, sweet surprises, and a great group of friends coming together to save his bar. Loved the ending and can't wait for the next book!

4.5 Stars Since I started this series I've been eagerly awaiting Tyree's story! I must say it lived up to my expectations. It's one of my favorites so far in the series. It hits right at my romance reader heart. Eva was Tyree's first love. It was tough watching Tyree battle with the guilt of moving on. I so wanted him to get his HEA with Eva. To me this book is the essence of a romance book. I couldn't have been any happier in how this book turned out. I can't wait for more from this series. It just keeps getting better and better with the Man of the Month.

"He wanted her near. He wanted her close. But that desire was a double-edged sword, because every night when he was alone, he felt the shadow. Because if he let Eva in, didn't that mean letting Teiko go?" I love this series. I have pretty much said so in my review of each of the books before this one. What I loved the most about this one was that our main characters are in their forties. Established in their lives. And now, they're getting a second chance. Not a "I haven't seen you in 5 or 10 years" kind of chance. This was a twenty-plus separation! Love it!! Tyree Johnson once had it all, and lost it. He's lost the two women in his life that he ever loved - The first to a lie. The second in a tragic accident. Now, he might lose his bar , The Fix. He's determined not to let that happen and is focusing all of his effort and energy in to keeping it open. When a mysterious young woman appears, claiming to be his daughter, his focus is shifted - to the first woman he ever loved. Eva Anderson. Can he see past the anger and the lies to see what's right in front of him? Will he ever be able to let go of the memory of his late wife, to move forward with Eva? With their lives a thousand miles apart, will he have to choose between The Fix and Eva? Eva Anderson loved Tyree decades ago. He deployed before she knew she was pregnant. Then he was killed in combat. Or, so she'd been told. A recent discovery in her late father's belongings, told her that he was indeed alive. Unsure of what to say to him, she's not sure if finding him is the right thing. But, after their daughter, Elena starts the ball rolling, she has no choice but to confront him. Will he understand? When all those old feelings come rushing back in, should she embrace them, or push them down? I loved the fact that Eva was so strong. How understanding she was about Tyree's struggle between Eva and the memory of his late wife. And we now have a newly crowned Man of the Month!

OK, this book is now my favorite of the series (and no I haven't said that about every book, though Cameron is still my favorite book boyfriend of the series). I knew from the setup in the fourth book, that this book was going to be great. I couldn't put this book down. Tyree has loved two women and he thought he lost them both, or has he. Get ready for little bit of a rollercoaster ride. This one so far is the most emotional of the series. There is a balance of the anger and betrayal, and sympathy and love that these characters experience based on the curve ball(s) life has thrown at them. Tyree and Eva are both solid characters with obvious chemistry and a little bit older from what we've seen so far, so that is a refreshing take, especially since so many romance novels tend to revolve around younger characters. I will say the reason Tyree doesn't know about his daughter is a little cliché, but not something that is dwelled upon for longer than it needed to be. You'll fly through this book just like the others and when the series ends, I think there may be some seriously major book hangover happening. Based on the epilogue book 6 might be the steamiest of them all.

Since being introduced to The Fix on Sixth and how the previous characters in the series have stepped up to help its owner, Tyree Johnson, save the infamous bar, I’ve wanted to hear his story and understand how he got into the position that he’s in and what his plans are to not only save his business, but also to perhaps end his years of loneliness because it seems he’s been Fate’s ‘bitch’ for quite some time and given the fickle nature of what presides over people’s lives, it’s about time Tyree makes some moves on his own and puts an end to the devastating journey he’s been on for much longer than he deserves. Get It On, like its predecessors in the series, is a quick, steamy, and entertaining story that speeds up and heats up the hero and heroine’s feelings and chemistry. But where Tyree and Eva’s story differs is in the fact that these two have an emotional history, and with Eva’s reappearance in his life, he learns even more about what he’s been missing out on all these years and what he needs to do to not only save his bar but also his relationship with a woman who meant everything to him in the past and now means even more in the present because she helps end Fate’s reign on Tyree’s life. J. Kenner does a good job at exploring Tyree and Eva’s past and the reasons that Eva was not forthcoming with important information that Tyree deserved to know. But while those details help readers understand everything that happened between them, I still didn’t feel like the main characters evolved enough as their story continued and I wanted that insight…I needed to put all the puzzle pieces together and then witness this second chance at love and at life blossom into something lasting. But I do have to say that I’m more than aware of what this series is meant to be and while I did want a bit more development, I still enjoyed Tyree and Eva’s reunion and the fact that Tyree finally had a chance to show Fate who’s boss! Tyree, Mr. May, may not have wanted to be part of the bar’s calendar, but if readers have learned anything from the previous books, it’s clear that it’s not too difficult to wrangle these men into posing for the camera. 3.5 Poison Apples

It’s Tyree's time to shine. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Tyree and his story was certainly one for the books. As the original owner of The Fix on Sixth, I knew he was a great guy. He’s well loved by his friends. I mean, look what they did for him, joining forces and bank accounts to save the bar. They are getting it on and getting there. Tyree’s past comes back to haunt him when the daughter of an old love Eva Winston shows up in the bar with news he wasn’t expecting. Finding out he had a long lost daughter comes as a shock and it’s not a pretty sight when he confronts Eva. He believes she betrayed him and cost him time with his first born. Tyree is a good man, a great friend and father, but he has a hard time with this news. But, when the truth comes out, can he fix his mistakes or will Eva truly leave him this time? Find out in the newest installment of the ‘Man of the Month’ series today.

Finally time to get Tyree's story! Even though it's been several years, he's still dealing with the loss of his wife. He's raising his son and working hard to keep his bar open. Tyree is a good man that's been through a lotand life hits him with something unexpected, a daughter. He gets a chance to know this young lady and reconnect with her mom. I enjoyed seeing him get his happy back!
