About the Author

Tom Holt was born in London in 1961. At Oxford he studied bar billiards, ancient Greek agriculture and the care and feeding of small, temperamental Japanese motorcycle engines; interests which led him, perhaps inevitably, to qualify as a solicitor and emigrate to Somerset, where he specialized in death and taxes for seven years before going straight in 1995. He lives in Chard, Somerset, with his wife and daughter.

You have to read it as a Monty Python skit.  Anyone who doesn't like Monty Python will probably not like this book.

Mr. Holt may be a fine author, but in my book he missed the mark on this one.

The story was OK, but not of the same caliber as Hitchikers Guide or Stainless Steel Rat or others of the same genre.

This book wants to be like Hitchikers Guide but fails

The attempts at humor and the jarring writing style constantly pull the reader out of the "story". I didnt find this funny, whimsical, nor entertaining - mostly I found myself asking "What the...?" a lot.
