About the Author

J. Dane Tyler started writing fiction in the early 1980s, but only got serious about learning the craft and the art in 2007. He sought to emulate his heroes like Stephen King and Amy Tan, and enjoys literary horror and scary old guys in battered hats and overalls living in shanties in moss-draped swamps. Or at least stories about them.

When he's not reading and writing, he's working on non-fiction computer books under an assumed name, which is not Clark Kent due to copyright issues, and loves to draw and watch cartoons. He believes computer animated motion pictures are voodoo and they rank among his favorite films. He also wants to learn to fight like Jason Bourne someday, but would settle for a flat tummy at the moment.

Dane lives in Northern Illinois with his wife Vanessa and their two children.
