Grimnirs is #2.5 in the Runes series by Ednah Walters. This series is a must read. The first two books were about Raine and Torin, but in this book we get to know Raine's friend Cora better. Recently out of the mental hospital, Cora has to pretend that she doesn't see spirits so that her parents don't admit her again. Back at home, she meets Echo – a sexy guy who acts like he already knows her. He talks about things that they've done together but she doesn't remember any of it. Even the people at school act like she hasn't been gone as long as she has. Things just seem really strange. Even though Echo is a bad boy, and soul reaper, Cora just can't resist his charms. Though I'm still a bigger fan of Raine and Torin, Cora and Echo have some awesome chemistry. Their story gets really hot and steamy for a young adult book. Echo rates high up there with Torin on the hotness-meter. If you love a bad boy that has a soft side, then you'll love Echo. I was glad to see Raine, Torin, Andris, and Ingrid in this book. I'd love to read a book from Andris' point of view – whether his love interest is Ingrid or somebody else. He is a character that is particularly interesting to me. Ednah Walters writes great characters and great stories. The world that she has created with this series is amazing. If you like paranormal romance, Norse mythology, young adult, or new adult books – then I definitely recommend this book/series to you. This book is the perfect blend of romance, mystery, and action. You will not be disappointed.

I'd give this book six stars if I could. Normally, I'm not a complete fan of suddenly switching points of view in the middle of a series, but this? This was freaking awesome. I've always adored Cora - I truly think she's the perfect best friend and balance for Raine. I love her bubbly personality, and I was actually so glad to get a better glimpse of things from her side. When Cora returns to Kayville, she's thrown into a new reality when she finds that people remember her even though she was gone: people have seen her regularly even though she wasn't even there. Spooky much? Of course, if you've read Immortals, the previous book (which you definitely should have), you'd know the reasons for this. But Cora doesn't, and watching from her perspective adds a sense of mystery and conflict that I completely enjoyed. Echo is awesome, sexy, and sassy - the perfect guy for Cora. These two have got some amazing chemistry that totally spiced things up. I loved it. If' you're worried about this being a cliche romance, you really don't have to. There is a perfect balance between Echora, as I ship them, and action. This was a thrilling read. I really can't get enough of these books.

Absolutely loved this book! I had gotten Runes a while ago and just didn't read it because I already had a bunch of books to read. Finally I got around to reading it and ever since I don't want to stop reading these books. Ednah Walter does an amazing job with the plot and the Characters and I cannot wait to continue reading her work.

Grimnirs is the third book in the Runes series. Although this book takes place after the conclusion of Immortals, the perspective changes from that of Raine in the first two books to that of Cora, Raine's friend. Cora is fresh out of the mental hospital as she has struggled to deal with her recent ability to see ghosts. As we know from Immortals, while she was away she had been impersonated by Maliina. Then Echo enters her life, thinking he knows her, and her world changes again. Unlike Raine and Torin's clean romance, Echo and Cora's romance is very steamy. I haven't read the clean version, but there is one available for those who prefer to not read a hotter version.

A great addition to the Runes series. This story, told mainly from Cora's POV, adds depth to her character and shows us a different side to Cora. Her grit, humour and perseverance as she copes with an emotional roller coaster, the stress of seeing souls and with being hunted endears you to what was previously not one of my favourite characters. You cannot help but be drawn along with Cora as she falls for that sexy bad boy Echo, feel Eirik's hurt at being rejected once again and Echo's frustration, fear and vulnerability as he in turn falls for Cora. You thought Torin was hot, well just wait until you meet Echo! The chemistry this author creates between the characters and the great plot draws you in and keeps you turning the pages. I look forward to reading the next in the series and, hopefully more of Cora and Echo

Eiriks gone and Cora Jemison, has been totally out of the loop as to what has been going on with her friends. She doesnt understand, shes hurt, that her best friend Raine, and secret crush Eirik never came to see her while she was away in the hospital. Evil Maliina has been her doppelganger while Cora was in a psych ward, oblivious to everyone, even Eirik who has developed strong feelings for her. Since being runed by Maliina, she has been seeing dead souls and doesnt understand why shes seeing them or what they want from her. After Maliinas demise, Cora comes face to face with Grimnir, Echo, Maliinas boy toy. Echo never knew anything about Maliinas trickery and doesnt understand Coras behavior towards him when she says she doesnt know him. He thinks the Norns have tampered with her memory. Cora finds herself falling for the Grimnir and Echo for her. Until he learns the whole truth about what Maliina did and that shes just a mortal he cant be with. Once reunited with Raine, Cora starts learning whats been happening while she was away and the secrets within their friendship.

series must read!!! Cora is seeing spirits and she can't talk about it, as she is afraid she will be re-admitted to the mental hospital. Cora meets Echo, a sexy badboy soul reaper, who she can't resist. Journey with these two as Cora develops her powers and she conquers the bad boys heart. Great read I didn't want to put it down

I really enjoyed reading “Grimnirs” book 3 of the Runes Series by Ednah Walters. It was enjoyable learning more about Cora from her POV, and especially the new character the leather wearing, hot Echo – the Grimnir who stole Cora’s heart. I love the development of Cora and Echo’s relationship through all they endure. Cora’s story is endearing and enjoyable. Don’t miss a chance to get to know this amazing character in the Runes Series.

Grimnirs is Cora's story based off the rune series. We start off with after Cora get out of psych ward her parents put her in. She can see souls everywhere she goes and they will not stay away from her. She can make them go away by using a poker that Sam and Dean from Supernatural taught her. Out of no where she meets this mysterious Grimnir named Echo. But Echo does not know that she is not the same girl he thought he knew. What will happen to Cora and Echo? Will the Grimnir come after her even though she is not the girl they are looking for?

Just like Torins sexiness made book 1 so great, Echo sizzles book 2. Way to go.

I received this book from Xpresso Reads in return for a fair and honest review. I thought that this was the first in a series... and in a way, it is. It is the first in the Grimnirs series. HOWEVER, it also fits into another series so be prepared for some characters and events to have already happened. This did throw me to start with as it did seem like I'd started the book halfway through. Once I settled into this story though, I was able to enjoy it as it was. For those that are interested the reading order is as follows: 1. - Runes - YA 2. - Immortals - YA 2.5 - Grimnirs - NA 3. - Seeress - YA 3.5 - Souls - NA 4. - Witches - YA So, now that's out of the way, let me tell you about Grimnirs. This is a wonderful book, full of Norse mythology. It is rich in detail and yet flows smoothly. We have a hero who is a bit of a tool to begin with and a heroine that has just come out of a psych ward so you can tell straight away that things are going to be good. Cora is a brilliant main female - she doesn't know everything, hell, she's struggling to understand why no one has noticed that she's been missing for a month! She does, however, take what's thrown at her and makes the best of it in any way she can. She's not afraid to stand up for who and what she believes in. Once you've got her on your side, she's there to stay. Echo is swoon-worthy and redeems his tool-status. He is completely alpha male, hates having to explain himself but has his reasons for everything he does. He wants to protect Cora but she will insist on having her own mind and making it difficult for him. I tell you now that the character I felt sorry for Eirik and I hope he has his story, complete with HEA! Well written and evenly paced, with lots of information to take in, this is a book to be savoured and enjoyed. I'm off to read book 2... I mean book 3.5... I mean I'm off to read Souls! Definitely recommended for all fans of Fantasy, Mythology and Norse!

Review Of Grimnirs (Runes Series Book #2.5) By Ednah Walters Ednah Walters writing ALWAYS surprises me. Everyone of her stories never fails to garner a fierce response from me. When I first stated reading this series I immediately fell in LOVE with Torin St. James and thought no one could even come close to it. Well, Ednah blew that out of the water when she created Echo. He is beyond HOT, funny, did I mention HOT, with an undercurrent of badness to him. Cora Jemison is no longer just Raine's best friends; oh no, she can see souls everywhere she goes. On a trip to the grocery store Cora encounters Echo, a mysterious guy who seems to be shepherding the very souls she wants to escape from. While she can't take her eyes off him he stuns her by talking to her like he knows her. All the while she is thinking it is impossible because she would remember him if she did. Echo is a Grimnir, a reaper of souls. He guides souls to Hels Hall and he is great at his job. Echo is also not to be trusted because he will do any and everything to reach his end goal no matter who he has to destroy on the process. All that starts to change when the Cora he once thought he knew starts saying and acting differently then he is used to. He sees a softer side to her that makes him want to act that way as well. Once Echo realizes Cora is a Mortal he tries to do the right thing and let her go but Cora has other plans for her Grimnir. There is so much I want to say but I really don't want to give away any more of the story and ruin it for anyone. I so came close to tears reading this book. I had OMG moments and I there were a few times when I wished I had  this book in paperback so I could throw it or bang it in frustration. I LOVED the fact that this book made me a jumble of emotions. To me, that is what a brilliant writer does, they take you on an emotional roller coaster but never let you catch your breath. I CAN'T WAIT TIL BOOK #3. On a scale from 1-10 I give Grimnirs a 20. Every book Ednah writes topples my scale because anything less seems like he won't do he stories justice. If your a fan of her Runes Series than this is a MUST HAVE addition. If you are looking for a great story, HOT guys/girls, Norse Mythology, or just looking for amazing characters than Grimnirs is the book for you. I encourage everyone who loves this series to pick up a copy. If you haven't read this series then when you buy Grimnirs you should also buy Runes and Immortals. Let Cora and Echo show you something worth fighting for.

* I received a free eCopy of this book in exchange for an honest review * Loved! This was a very cool book. It was fun and sexy and full of action and secrets and adventure and hotness. I'll admit, I was a little confused in the beginning with trying to keep track of who was who and all of the different relationships and titles but I chalk that up to the fact that I didn't know this book was part of a series and therefore read it out of order. Once we got through the introductions and the story started to pick up, which really didn't take long, I was totally hooked and couldn't put it down. I loved the way the entire book was steeped in so much mystery that I found myself mistrustful of EVERYONE. I had no idea what was going to happen next. The story was so unpredictable and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. I really enjoyed the storyline and how it ended. I'd love to read more about Cora and Echo. Speaking of Echo, *sigh* <3 Echo is pure literary perfection. The other characters were great too, all of them actually, but if you were to read this book just for Echo you wouldn't be disappointed. He's a funny, sexy, kind, protective, badass...and everything you could ask for in a perfect book boyfriend. Grimnirs was my first foray into this series. My first introduction to this author actually. But it will definitely not be my last. Great storyline, great characters, great book! Read It!
