Her Baby, His Love by Lynne Marshall

All Taylor Clark ever wanted was a normal life and a traditional family, but so far she's had neither. Soon after discovering that her boyfriend was secretly engaged and she moves to Charity, Montana for a fresh start, she realizes she's pregnant. As her new friendly and sexy landlord helps her settle in, they become friends, although Taylor has to keep reminding herself to keep her distance. The last thing she needs is to start something new.

As an ex-con, Joe Collins knows a little something about fresh starts. Despite his determination to keep his head down, he can't ignore Taylor's natural beauty or obvious vulnerability. In short time, a tentative friendship blooms along with something more precious--trust.

When Taylor's ex comes to town, he threatens everything that Joe and Taylor have built together. Joe steps up to care for and protect her, even though he risks losing more than the woman he loves.

3 out of 5 stars, Taylor (Free Spirt) thought she had a great life until a coworker shows her a newspaper clip that informs her that her current boyfriend got married to someone else that previous weekend. So, while being mad as all hell, she flees him and where she was living to move on to Charity, Montana. There she starts a new life and enters into a small town community that takes helping out one another to an extreme. Yet, she can’t help but be drawn to the town’s charming gardener even though he’s an ex-con. Then her life takes another unplanned turn, will she be able to get her life back on track or will everything be taken out of her hands for good? I loved the premise of this novel, which is why I stuck with it even though I struggled to get through it at times. Nevertheless, I found this novel sweet and was charmed by Joe and the delightful town that Taylor had moved too. It was very creative how Ms. Marshall took on Taylor and Joe’s lives and getting to see how they overcame everything that was thrown at them. It was the main reason why I was able to root for them as they go through their struggles while watching their relationship grow and seeing them get closer together. All in all, it was a very sweet romance that I would recommend to those wanting a unique contemporary novel to read. Review By: From Me to You ... It reads as if the author needs to explain everything each character is feeling. This makes the story drag. Conversations are often awkward also. The characters Joe and Taylor could be interesting and their story fun, but they're dragged down by detail. It's refreshing that Joe isn't trying to have sex with Taylor when they meet because he is choosing celibacy for now.

I enjoyed this second chance romance story about Taylor and Joe. When Taylor finds out that her boyfriend just got married and that he used her, she does what she always does, she runs. This time she ends up in the small town of Charity, Montana. The townspeople are just like the town's name, well, most of them are. When she finds out that she is pregnant shortly after arriving, she is not sure what to do. Joe is an ex-con. He owns the local nursery as well as being the town's resident handyman and landscaper. There is something between them, but they are both wary of a relationship. When Taylor's ex shows up and threatens to sue for custody of the baby, things change in the town for Taylor. This was a sweet story that I enjoyed. I might have given it four stars if the storyline of the custody battle had not come to a rather simple end. I liked both of the main characters as well as some of the secondary ones. The town has some quaint aspects to it, as well as the mean girl, but overall, it seems to be a sleepy little town, that is home to quite a few ex-convicts who have pretty much turned their lives around. I am looking forward to reading more in this series. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

I picked up this book because I loved the cover. Lots of us have done that right? While I enjoyed the book for the most part, there were times in the book if I could have gone into the book and shaken the main character Taylor, I would have. Let me tell you a tad bit about it what I Taylor moves away to a new town to start fresh after yet another bad relationship breakup. AND I do mean a BAD relationship breakup. The little town she decides to move to is called Charity, Montana. One of the reason is decided to read this book is it is based in Montana and i love Montana based books. One of the first guys she sees is this hunk of a guy at the nursery and she found out his name is Joe. She later discovers that many of the men the town have been in prison ... see where I am going with this. This book is definitely a book well worth reading as it was good. It was just one of those books that could have been very interactive had it been a real life situation LOL. Taylor was a bit whiney but hey real life can be that way right and Joe, I will say I have met men who have converted who are exactly like this man. So I believe ever word written can be true. It was just a bit long for me and i was ready to strangle Taylor after a while. BUT in the long run well read the book and see if it was worth it.

Very sweet story. Loved how things work out in the end.

Enjoyable read. Taylor is a very human character, albiet I frequently thought she needed to screw her head on. Joe despite a prison record is too perfect and nice for believability. His anger incidents are way too out of character. Still a decent read and something you can leave out for anyone to read.

This book brought a different group of characters, which made me fall in love with from the first chapter.

Her Baby, His Love by Lynne Marshall Taylor, a nurse looked at the picture of him in the paper and it was his marriage to another... Not the first time it happened to her but still devastating. She ends up in Charity Montana to reinvent herself-pregnant and she has a place to stay in. The house she rented is in bad shape but the elderly woman is welcoming-Dixie. Native American Joe her property manager and owner of the nursery and Joe helps ex cons find work under supervision. Love hearing of the nurser and the plants and their attributes. Joe is attracted to her upon sight. Alternating chapters of Joe and then Taylor and their interests as they keep running into one another. Like how she investigates her new surroundings, all stores have woman's first names Love hearing the meditation garden-I can just imagine it and what all the symbols stand for. She opens up to him and he to her as to their past. Her ex is not yet ready to be done with her although he's married. Misunderstandings and you don't know who she's going to end up with, including her own baby...Love Joe's solution although he's staying away from her. Love knitting, don't see that very often any more and religious interjections. Toe ring-just don't get these, like tattoos. Human chain gang, novel idea! Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Their Christmas Miracle is excerpted and an author bio. Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

I’m giving this one 3.5 stars … I’m not quite comfortable with giving it 4 but it definitely doesn’t deserve 3. As you can imagine this story spends a lot of time delving into trust issues. Taylor has had some really bad luck with men and so she’s pretty much at the point of thinking they are all going to treat her poorly. Then when she does meet one that seems like he could be different, he turns out to be an ex-con. Not having known anyone who has gone to jail, she’s pretty much only got stereotypes to go off of. It’s a slow process as Joe shows Taylor what an up-standing guy he is, regardless of a stupid choice in his youth. There is a lot of back-and-forth on the romance side of things as they both struggle with timing and their own histories. I can understand where Taylor comes from on a lot of stuff but Joe really is a good man and he shows it. There comes a point where I think that some readers might be tired of her attitude but luckily she figures things out. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

Her Baby, His Love by Lynne Marshall This is Taylor Clark and Joe Collins' story. This is a sweet story about two people who are experiencing struggles in their life. Taylor finds out that she is pregnant and the father of her baby had been secretly engaged and just got married. Joe is an ex-con trying to get a fresh start. Taylor and Joe are attracted to each other but the timing and circumstances seem to be wrong. Can Joe accept another man's baby? Can Taylor handle Joe being an ex-con? I enjoyed this sweet and heartwarming romance. The supporting characters were entertaining as well. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A sweet story of redemption. Finding a reason to trust again after a lifetime of disappointment leads to a new chance on life for Taylor, and Joe finds a way to forgive himself for past mistakes by becoming a good and honest man. They're an adorable couple ... and it's a pleasure watching them find their way to each other. Taylor Clark is looking for a fresh start after finding out that yet another man has let her down in life, so she moves to Charity, Montana. From the start, she's attracted to the property manager of the house she's renting, but she's not ready to let another man into her life again ... and when she shockingly realizes she's pregnant with her ex's baby, it just complicates the situation even more! Joe Collins is attracted to Taylor as well, but he leads a different type of life here in this small town, and he's not sure about adding a relationship to the mix. They agree to be friends and tell each other their secrets, but along the way they continue to rely on each other and grow closer. Taylor is able to overcome the fact that Joe is an ex-con, and Joe is willing to step up and care for her more than anyone ever has. When her ex shows up in town making waves, will their fledgling relationship be over, or will they find a way to get their happily-ever-after?

If you are looking for a sweet story about getting a second chance at life then you will love Her Baby, His Love by Lynn Marshall. Taylor Clark has not had much luck with her boyfriends. They were either cheaters, lazy, or liars; her last one was secretly engaged. Deciding she needed a fresh start she moves to Charity, Montana to begin a new job and discovers she’s pregnant. As her friendly and sexy landlord helps her settle in and adjust to the small town living Taylor reminds herself that all she can be is his friend. Ex-con Joe Collins understands about getting a fresh start. He is determined not to start something with Taylor but can’t ignore how beautiful or vulnerable she is. As their friendship blossoms, so does their trust and love. This story really resonated with me, exemplifying that sometimes a fresh start is a good thing. It can give you new insight on life as well as yourself. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

A great small town romance with unlikely couple. A single pregnant newcomer and an ex con. Both with trust issues but they learn to over come them. Both are trying to make fresh starts in their lives, and Taylor believes a friendship is all she can give to Joe, but soon that friendship blooms into so much more. I really enjoyed this romance, so much more than romance of starting over and learning to trust. Loved how the small town came together to help, well almost everyone. This is my first book by Lynne Marshall and will not be my last.

This is a hard one to review for me. I liked the overall premise of the book, after ending a bad relationship a young woman moves to a new town for a fresh start. Shortly after arriving she dis covers she's pregnant. What I didn't like was how judgmental the h, Taylor, was while everyone in town was so accepting of her. The book is well written and the characters are well developed. Not a bad book but not a favorite of mine.
