About the Author

Mina Carter was born and raised in Middle Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England). After a slew of careers ranging from logistics to land-surveying she can now be found in the wilds of Leicestershire with her husband, daughter and a cat who moved in and never left.

Suffering the curse of eternal curiosity, Mina never tires of learning new skills which has led to Aromatherapy, Corsetry, Chain-maille making, Welding, Canoeing, Shooting, and pole-dancing to name but a few.

A full-time author and cover artist, Mina can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and Dairy-lea cheese triangles.

Super fun General Lyssa Ryland is part human and part Telatians with fiery hair and amber eyes. She looks far younger then her age thanks to her Telatians dna. She is powerful and feared my the command. The admiral has put an empath oh hey ship to spy on her. Command had done it before but she had out played them every time but they think she won't be able to this time. Commander Jacob James Meyers or JJ was having a bad day. It started with him sleeping though his alarm, then being late for and important meeting but in the end he did run into that fiery women again. He was going to make the most of his night because in the morning his new assignment started. He was going to the CFS Arcadia as thier new empath and at any price get the ship captain under his control. The two meet in a bar and lol you can guess what happened next. Spicy, fun and action-packed story. I loved the characters thier amazing. The only down side I can say it I wish it hadn't ended! Lol I am not use to an older women with a younger guy story. I just seems odd to me BUT I got to say Mina Carter rocked it for me. Super fun read. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it

Brilliant mix of SciFi and PNR with a liberal heap of sassy! Lyssa is a bit of maverick within the Space Marines, the very things that make her a great marine make her a nightmare for the higher ups to control. She may have 3 decades of experience in the field but she will not be bought off in the conventional manner. They decide to embed an empath on her ship, something that really makes her skin crawl. On a rare night out she lets her hair down and seduces (or is she seduced?) by a tall, sexy, dominant male. But the fun really stats the next day when they realise that HE is the empath on her ship! She may be in control on the command deck and in the field, but behind closed doors she is more than willing to let him assert control! Highly enjoyable start to a new series and I'm hopeful that the others in the series will expand on this world and fill in some of the gaps!

I was given an Advanced Review Copy, by the author, in return for a honest review. I really enjoyed the plot and characters of this novella. The writing and romance was spot on. However, I wish it was a longer book. Sweet, but too short! - Sarah

Oh, Mina Carter you have ticked me off with this book. You are one of the few authors that write short stories that I don't mind reading as you wrap up the story line completely in a way that I don't feel like there should be more. This time I cannot say that as this story was so interesting it actually cries out for a larger book. These are two characters that make me one to know more about her past and his past and a future for them. So consider giving them book with a longer story line I think other readers would enjoy this would enjoy it too. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the advanced reader copy received from the author.

Wish it were longer but, as always, a great read! Love strong female leads with big bad alpha males.
