Baillie is a women in her 50's who suddenly finds her used book store haunted by ghosts. She finds out that she has inherited a castle in Scotland and flies over to see it. Evil is afoot when she arrives and she has to call in her girls to help. Along the way she meets a Scottish ghost and starts to fall for him. This was an interesting story. Loved the ghost and the fact that Baillie is a different type of hero. Not your typical romance but not to bad.

4.5 Stars. This was a cute romance. I loved Gillian (and he needs his own romance story ;). Both main characters in this story were multidimensional and addictive. It did have a few unanswered questions for me, which I can't say here to avoid spoilers, but I understand why the villain was taken care of the way that he was in the story - which was very entertaining section with the 'girls' working him over. The author showed a lot of history and researched weaved flawlessly into the story without it becoming overbearing. There is a lot of suspense in this novel, especially in the beginning which made me want to get to the 'goods' faster.  Overall a sweet romance that will keep you turning pages.

I love books that take you right into feeling like it could be happening to you. The northern state living with the bookstore is homey and endearing. The circle of friends are fun and colorful. The ghost is just charming and full of the old Scottish upbring. Loved his accent and his manly ways. I highly recommend this book

This story of love and mystery crosses an ocean to Scotland, where the real fun begins! Just when you think you know what's going to happen next, another twist in the story hits you. I have read several books by the author, and was pleasantly surprised to find one of my favorite characters, Gillian Nation, planted in the thick of it all in this newest novel. Without giving anything away, I would say this is a must read for anyone who loves a good mystery with some silliness thrown in. Readers of Janet Evanovich will love Kathleen Shaputis' writing style!

So many different and quirky things about this delightful story! The heroine is in her fifties, while the hero is not only a ghost, but a man who died in his prime, making him both older AND younger than the heroine. The exchanges between the pair are full of humour, and Baillie's inner ramblings are a delight to read. The icing on the cake (NOT the cake from the story, which I won't spoil by giving details on) is the supporting cast of characters. I hold my hand up right now and say - nay, DEMAND! - that I want Gillian Nation to be my new best friend. And Gillian's girls are a hoot. And Ferdinand. Cute, fluffy, Ferdinand. And... well, go read and discover them yourself! If you want something fun, flirty, and with a wee bit of Scot's flavour, then you would be wise to grab this one. Tremendous fun!
