Her Heart in His Pocket: A Victorian Christmas Novella

A friends-to-lovers romance, a much-anticipated holiday ball, and an investigation into a murder mystery, all converge in a medieval English castle in this Victorian Christmas novella.

Elizabeth, a former pickpocket, seeks anonymity and security while she poses as a lady's maid at a holiday gathering.  However, when Ben, the boy she once dreamed about, returns as an incredibly sexy man, an extinguished flame, flares to life. Ben's presence is both a mystery and a threat to exposing her past, especially when the man she believes murdered her brother, appears as a guest for the ball.

Ben, former London street urchin and orphan, receives a mysterious invitation to a swanky Christmas ball in a remote English castle.  Upon arrival, he discovers his lost love and clues to his parentage. The revelation of his parents' identity carries financial rewards, but also physical danger to himself and Elizabeth. Will threats from the past ruin Ben and Elizabeth's holiday reunion and spoil their second chance at love?

Donna MacMeans is known for her sensual and witty Victorian Historical Romances.  She's the recipient of the illustrious Golden Heart Award presented by Romance Writers of America and the Editors's Choice Award for Historical Love and Laughter by RT magazine (Romantic Times).

About the Author

Until recently, Donna MacMeans had the initials, CPA, after her name.  She was a certified public accountant for many years, employed by one of the big four firms and then self-employed for many years.  However, once her third manuscript, The Education of Mrs. Brimley, won the prestigious Golden Heart award, she abandoned all thoughts of tax returns and began writing Victorian historicals full-time.  She has released five romances with Berkley Publishing, and has self-published several paranormal romances, a time-travel, and a lonely romantic suspense.

Donna currently lives in Central Ohio with her husband of many, many years.  They enjoy painting, travel, and her alcohol-soaked desserts.  Donna has been a frequent speaker and involved with many writing organizations around Ohio.  To learn more, visit her webpage at www.DonnaMacMeans.com and sign up for her monthly newsletter to receive free books and news about her latest releases.
