This is only the second book I have read in this series and even though I will be reading the series backwards, I stilled loved this book. I'm prof that this book really can be read as a standalone. Each book is about a different Lockhart brother and this is Justin's story. Elle Tyler has it all, fame beauty and a load of adoring fans, but one fateful night she is attacked by a deranged fan who leaves her bleeding on a bathroom floor. Justin Lockhart is the stranger who comes to her rescue and after getting her to the hospital he can't get her out of his mind. Justin preserves with the calls and visits to the hospital until he gets to see she is ok for himself but what he finds is a girl who has lost all her confidence and he needs to show her she is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside, dispite the scars left by her attacker...... This is a story about two strangers who become friends and then lovers, it's beautifully written and I was captivated from the first chapter. The Lockhart brothers are not only hot as hell they are loveable caring men and I will be reading the rest in this series. I loved reading this siblings story I hope the rest are as good as Hidden Depth. Great job Brenda Rothert

5 star Review Hidden Depth (Lockhart Brothers #4) by Brenda Rothert This was the first book I have read in the Lockhart Brothers series so I was a tad concerned that I would not be able to follow. Boy was I wrong!. This is Justin Lockhart and Elle Tyler's story and what a story it was. Hidden Depth was heartbreaking, sad, uplifting and hopeful all at the same time. Simply put I was on the edge of my seat throughout my read of this book. I fell for both of these characters as well as the Lockhart family, so much so that I am now off to purchase the other books in the series. The chemistry between Justin and Elle was exceptional. This book was all about finding yourself after tragedy, of learning to trust and believe in love and having the courage to take that leap of faith back into life. I would love to see Chloe and Andre get their own stories, even if they are novellas.

I've been a Brenda Rothert fan for ages, and have read and enjoyed the earlier books in her Lockhart Brothers series. I knew that there was one more Lockhart brother to get to know a little bit better, but thought for sure that his story couldn't top the others. I mean, Brenda handled some very touchy subjects with grace, passion, and redemption there, and how do you match that? Well, if you're Brenda, you write HIDDEN DEPTH, that's how. I fell in love with Elle and Justin from the very beginning of their story. Beyond the horror, the loss, and the life changes that both had to endure, there was acceptance, compassion, friendship, and a sense of being home. Elle and Justin are two very special people, and their ability to just be themselves and be there for each other made my heart happy. Is it crazy to think that a man from a small town and a wildly famous entertainer might just be able to find each other in this world and make a go of it? The romantic in me says heck, no, and cheered Justin and Elle on from beginning to end. I could not have been happier with their journey, but I am always happy to see some 'down the road' details, so, Brenda, if you decide to visit Lovely, MO, for some more Lockhart family time, I'm totally down with it. HIDDEN DEPTH is an endearing, sexy, uplifting 4.5-star read for me, and joins the other books in this series in sharing some of my favorite of Brenda's characters. I highly recommend making a trip to Lovely and getting to know the Lockart family. It's a trip worth taking.

Elle is a pop star who is hurt badly by a crazed fan. The youngest brother in the Lockhart clan just happens to be the one who saves her. This incident creates a connection between them. Justin just cant get his mind off of the woman he saved. Elle is closed off after the incident and Justin is the only one she can really connect to. I liked Elle and Justin together. Without spoiling the story some things come into play that try to keep them apart that shocked me. Overall it was a nice easy read.

Hidden Depth is the fourth book in the Lockhart series. It centers around Justin Lockhart, the baby of the family. He is finishing up is internship and getting ready to head home and join the family law firm. On his way to a meeting he comes to the rescue of Elle Tyler, who happens to be a celebrity. They slowly become friends and then eventually become a couple. I liked Justin and Elle, but I wasn't really buying their relationship. I feel like the other books had more angst and suspense in them and I loved that about this series. Hidden Depth is a good book, just not as good as the other three, in my opinion.

Loved the story - Loved the Characters The previous Lockhart Brothers did not disappoint. I'm a huge fan of this series, and once again: They keep getting better and better. Justin was down right perfect. And our heroine, Elle, is someone you root for to get her man in the end. Now, pause here as I'm going to shock some of you. Yes, I believe this can be read as a complete standalone. You can even start here and go backwards. Although you are introduced to the other brothers and their significant others, there isn't too much too spoilery that would ruin going backwards. NOT THAT I'M SAYING TO DO THAT. But you could. Back to the book. Justin is one of those men you can relate to. Not looking for love and HEA, but when someone comes into his life he can't stay away from, he just doesn't. And he always has her best interests at heart. I do worry when I read about celebrities and relationships with a non-celebrity. But how Ms Rothert crafted the story had you believing this Hollywood HEA could happen. This story was everything in a romance read I want and need. Definitely a re-read for me! Yep, I'm going to say it: Whether or not you've read Brenda Rothert before or any of the series, this is one I highly recommend. You'll love the path the characters follow. The drama doesn't leave you drained and you finish with a perfect read. 5 out of 5 stars.

Brenda Rothert’s HIDDEN DEPTH is a heartwarming and moving read. This is the story of the youngest Lockhart brother, Justin, and model, singer and actress, Elle Tyler. This contemporary romance takes place in St. Louis, Missouri and Lovely, Missouri. First, my son’s name is Justin. So, I automatically like Justin Lockhart because of his name. That being said, I do like his character. He is protective and kind. He has good values. Elle is a sweet character. I love how she interacts with her fans. She is a good person, that has had some bad things happen to her. I appreciate that Justin and Elle like each other for the people they are and not who they are. Chloe Michaels is an awesome assistant and friend to Elle. I love how she looks out for her. Andre is a faithful bodyguard. I appreciate that the two truly care about Elle and are more than employees. They felt horrible and responsible about what happened even though it was not their fault. I love that Miss Dee Dee once again makes an appearance in this series. She is the perfect person for Elle to befriend. From a story perspective, I like how Justin and Elle meet. What happens is horrible but it makes a fantastic plot. Her situation with Gary Beasley was traumatic and chilling. Justin faces some interesting situations in the story. I like how he handles them. I adore how the story ended. It fell welt concluded. Once again, Brenda Rothert did an amazing job with this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

4.5 Stars! Elle seems to have the world in the palm of her hand. She is at the highest peak of her career until she is caught off guard and her world feels shattered in the matter of an instant. Darkness and depression are slowly seeping in. Then along comes a savior and unexpected friendship that manages to bring brightness to the long and dreary days spent in recovery. Justin’s schooling to become an attorney is complete and his temporary research job is coming to an end. His plans to move back to the small town of Lovely are moving forward and he will soon join the family practice. Then a sudden horrific discovery and the recovery of a stranger consume his thoughts. His plans to return to Lovely haven’t changed, but now he has no intention of returning home alone. As always, this author delivers great writing, a unique storyline, well written characters, and perfect pacing. The relationship between Elle and Justin is a somewhat slow build. What begins as a cautious friendship develops into a swoon worthy romance. As with all the Lockhart brothers, Justin will steal your heart! Hidden Depth is the fourth installment in the Lockhart Brothers series. All books in this series can be read as a standalone, but I strongly recommend starting at the beginning with book one, Deep Down, in order to get the full effect of the family dynamic and history of all characters.

This is the fourth book in the Lockhart Brothers series, however, this can most definitely be read as a stand alone. Elle and Justin are worlds apart but one horrific event brings them together and Hidden Depth delivers a lovely sweet romance. Both Elle and Justin are warm and utterly likeable characters; they are two characters that will most definitely have you routing for them and their HEA. This was quite a quick read and as a result I felt this book lacked a little depth. The relationship between Elle and Justin was a little too insta for my tastes and I would have loved to have seen their relationship build over a longer period of time and I felt that the plot line really lent itself to some real angst and suspense, however, it just fell a little short. Towards the end of the book , I also felt like that there was a plot line too many and if I would have loved the ending to have been drawn out a little more. That being said, however, this was a nice easy read and I did enjoy it. Some of the scenes that centred on Elle were particularly touching and had a lovely heart warming feel to it. I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher; there was no inducement or obligation.

I really enjoyed this book. Even though it wasn't my favorite in the series, it kept my interest and I finished it in one sitting. Here we meet Elle and Justin who meet under tragic circumstances. I felt like I didn't connect with Elle but Justin was swoon worthy material. They come together as friends and become more as time goes on. This book didn't have a lot of angst. It's perfect for those times when you just want to read a book and not have your heart ripped out. I loved seeing the Lockhart brothers come together again. I missed them.

Wow, that's only way I could think to start this. The first chapter truly gets your heart pumping, and then it just takes off from there. As much as I love the Lockhart brothers, I think this was the quickest I fell for one. Justin is the absolute man! My hearts a flutter over him. And Elle is an amazing strong woman that you also love instantly. In case you couldn't tell, I loved this book, and these characters, and of course Lovely. Feel the love and grab this now!!

Hidden Depth may start off with a traumatic and violent event, but at its heart, it's a sweet country boy and city girl romance. The story centers around Justin, the youngest Lockhart sibling, and pop star, Elle. This is book 4 in the interconnected stand alone Lockhart Brothers series. On paper, Elle and Justin couldn't be more different. It's only after the world Elle knew falls apart around her, that she realizes that what she had may not actually be what she wants or needs. Honestly, Elle wasn't my favorite heroine. She definitely grew as a character through the story, but for the majority of it, she felt sorry for herself and I got whiplash from her back and forth decisions at the end. Although Justin is wonderfully swoony most of the time, I just never connected to him or Elle. I didn't feel like I really got to know either of them and their relationship was instalove at mach speed. I understand that trauma can heighten emotions, but they just seemed to go from meeting to professing their undying love in the blink of an eye. Add in the continued threat of a deranged stalker and a hometown "surprise" from another mentally questionable individual and I just felt it all seemed too unbelievable and disjointed. The secondary characters were enjoyable, however, especially Andre, and had I read the previous books in this series, I would have probably enjoyed the Lockhart sibling cameos and easter eggs more. I have loved the other books that I have read from this author, but sadly, I just didn't connect with this one. Overall, this is still a cute romance though and I rooted for these two to get their happily ever after. *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This book was all kinds of wonderful and I hated for it to end. I also LOVE the Lockhart family and hate that this is the author's last story on the single Lockharts. I really felt this story brought the whole series full circle as Ivy who starred in the first book was very central to part of the storyline. This book stars good guy and lawyer Justin Lockhart. Up to now he has never been seen only heard of in this series. In this book he is finishing up an intern job because he has graduated and passed the bar and is ready to go home to his family and his hometown of Lovely. One day he arrives early for a lunch date and he literally saves our heroine Elle. Elle is a model and rockstar/singer. She is world famous and her reputation is very wholesome. She is engaged and is pretty much super happy with her best friend Chloe her assistant, a famous Fiancee and all the money she needs. She is on her way to Chicago and is very excited for a concert she is giving there, when the act of violence occurs. And Justin is the one that saves her. If you know this author well she embraces pain in her heroines. They are strong women who don't know how strong they are, until they are forced to thru life and well that really is what Elle's story is. She has to find out how strong she is and thru that ordeal she discovers who she really is beyond the fame and money and career. She discovers who and what is important to her and she finds out what is really important in life. As her and Justin get to know each other well I fell hard for this story it was beautiful and watching them fall for the other. They really see each other and I loved how there they are for the other. I also loved how the author brings Ivy and her attack back and it really helps Elle deal with what happened to her and it makes her stronger. It was an amazing plot twist using Ivy's pain and having her make Elle even stronger. To me that plot twist really brought the series full circle and I loved it. This story really deals well with the negative side of love and hero worship and the twisted things love can make one do in the name of love when in actuality its the furthest thing from love its obsession. This story was AMAZING and I loved it so much. It is one of those books I know I will be re-reading again.
