Fly The Frienbdly Wacky Skies! I love these Space Lords, they are funny, strange, mischievous and fearless. This is the story of Lochlann the dragon shifter and BFF of Prince Jarek the Cat shifter. Lochlan and Jarek left their planet to travel in space being of the same mind, they wanted nothing to do with the war between their kind. The only problem with that is that Loclann was branded a traitor by his kind and is not welcomed back home... In Jarek's story he found his mate and went back home leaving Lochklann as Captain of his ship of misfits. Lochlann has no illusions of ever finding his mate, he threw his crystal away years ago, the only thing he really desires is having his honor restored by his people. Thus is King tasks him with finding the long lost sister of Lady Kendall in order to have it restored. He has given up hope of ever finding her on their long journeys.. Until wacky Rick decides he wants to visit the Pleasure Droid Corp. and he is followed on to their ship by what they presume to be a Pleasure Droid. Thing is she is the spitting image of Lady Kendall's sister and to make matters worse, Lachlann is immediately drawn to her. Thus begins their ordeal through space trying to outrun the mad guys from Pleasure Droid Corp, plus trying to keep Alexis from her strange seizures. Alexis wakes up with no will of her own body and surrounded by strange people and to top it all off she feels her body drawn to the big imposing yet gentle Captain.. Will he try to imprison her like she was before, she'd rather die than be controlled again, maybe they will just shoot her off into space, it would be better? This is such a fun read, there is a lot of suspense and mystery that will keep you on edge and surprise you. I absolutely love Rick's wackiness and can't wait for his HEA, poor guy deserves one for all his wishfull thinking!
Another chance to romp with our Dragon Lords offshoot heroes!! A wonderful mix of Sci-fi and PNR romance. We finally get to find out what has happened to Margot!!!! Lochlann is captain of a very motley, enthusiastic and exuberant crew but he has a mission from Jarek, find Margot! When the ship finds a clue at a pleasure doll manufacturing plant the crew descends to try and find Margot but the cute but randy Rick finds a pleasure doll who seemingly wants to escape and they get her onboard. Lochlann can't believe the uncanny likeness that Alexis has to Margot. Alexis has been programmed, tampered with, enhanced and upgraded to become the epitome of pleasure droids. But in moments of lucidity she tries to sabotage her owners company. She makes it on board with Rick but she soon suffers from downloading too much info too quickly and gets stuck in a loop and has a hard time telling what is real and what is fantasy. When the ship is attacked she does her best to help her rescuers. I love this crew of misfits! Rick is that little brother who is fascinated with women to the extreme, Vic and Lucien bicker as brothers do. Dev is stoic and Lochlann carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, suffering from a self imposed disconnection from his homeworld. Alexis is such a strong but equally mentally fragile character. The unfolding of her story, intertwined with snapshots of Margots life, is quite emotive and I had a tear a time or two! Mucky doesn't quite get what he has coming to him but he does get a right good kicking (literally!!) The Conqueror crew will steal your heart!!
5.0 out of 5 stars His Metal Maiden The Next Space Lord Book Arrives This review is from: His Metal Maiden (Space Lords - A Dragon Lords Romance Book 3) ( The next installment of the Space Lords series His Metal Maiden by Michelle Pillow continues the stories of this somewhat misfit group of pirates. This book focuses on Lochlan a Draig (Dragon shifter) who finds himself captain of the ship after Jarek (the cat shifter Prince) returns to his home planet with his mate. When a "pleasure droid" (Alexis) runs away and seeks asylum in the ship the men and females aboard agree to saving her and find out this droid is really human with a horrid traumatic past. This particular book in the series is pretty dark compared to the others but the determination of Lochlan and the crew bring light and hope to Alexis' as she fights to survive and overcome her past. I loved Lochlan in this book although I often wanted to talk him out of his doubts and self depreciation he was all we've come to love of out Draig heroes. Alexis has some surprises in store for the readers and it was difficult at times to experience her going through her trauma and transformations as her body adapts to its new environment. Don't want to retell the story or give away any spoilers. A thrilling suspenseful romantic Scifi that will turning pages through the night. First though...as the stories intertwin and weave together I highly recommend reading these books in order. The Dragon Lords and Var series are both wonderful mesmerizing worlds to enjoy each book highly enjoyable and addicting. iIf you haven't treated yourself to these books don't wait a minute longer.
Wow... I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book. This is the third book in the Space Lords series where we finally find out what happened to Margot (she is the sister of Kendall from The Stubborn Lord). The story begins with Lochlann and the crew flying through space when an alarm goes off. Lochlann finds out if the "Margot" alarm so he has to go investigate where it's coming from. The place it's coming from happens to be the place where pleasure droids are created. Rick is all about going to look at the merchandise. They get a tour of the facility and see the newest pleasure droid about to come on the market... the "Alexis". Alexis has been in hell for years. She is the "model" for the new pleasure droids. She is finally able to escape her bonds and was about to try to end her life so she could finally be free when she sees Rick. She is unable to talk to ask for help and ends up follows him out and onto their ship. Lochlann finds out after they are too far away from the facility to return without fueling... which they don't have the space credits for. He keeps Alexis with him and eventually finds out she is 100% human. I loved this story. I always wondered what happened to Margot and you find out in this book. I enjoyed seeing Lochlann finally figure out how much he loves her and that he has mated her but denies the mating since it hasn't been done according to Qurilixian custom. It's amazing to see Alexis grow and how she discovers a new family with Lochlann and the crew. I laughed and wanted to cry at times while I was reading it... and most of all, I couldn't put it down. Well done on another great book in the series.
Lochlann's, the newest Captain of the small space pirate band, decision to stop for fuel would prove life changing. His band of unique individuals is a mix of humanoids with diverse origins and talents. His pilot will leave you amazed at his flying skills, laughing at his high opinion of his sexual prowess, and just everything he thinks he can do. In this case, sneak into a pleasure droid sales floor and escapes with a lover. He succeeds, it just isn't his doing. Alexis has gone through more than most could withstand, more than most have been able to withstand. Taking her chance to escape may cost her, but it can't be worse than where she is now. She finds the pirate crew to be a family of sorts. A family is something beyond her, having been deserted by her sister/mother and sold by her father. What she doesn't know is this crew is hunting for her—or is she really who they think she is? This story gives the answer to what happened to Kendall's sister, Margo. Kendall has married a Var Prince, cat-shifter, and enemy of Lochlann's Draig, dragon-shifters. The answer is not what we think it should be and not what her sister wants to hear. The journey is filled with danger, will they all survive? When Kendall learns about her sister, will Lochlann regain his honor, or will his life be in danger? Will Alexis find something to hold on to? Can Lochlann and Lexis find a chance together considering their origins? This story has dark portions with a light ahead if it can be reached. Finding that light is a hope, but will it be fulfilled. The team/family has a real ordeal ahead. Will it bind them or pull them apart? Ms. Pillow once again brings us into her created world making us cheer for her characters and their HEA ending. Will their end be a beginning? A strong recommend from me. I was provided an ARC for an honest review.
