Kyle and his brother James were both in love with Rachel, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. But, Kyle always stepped back so that his brother could shine. When James asked Rachel to marry him, Kyle joined the army and left to give them their space so that they could be a couple. The only time he returned was for James and Rachel’s wedding and James’ funeral. Until now. Kyle, being the stand-up guy that he is, wants to be a part of his niece’s life. But, seeing Rachel ignites all of the feelings they both had for each other many years ago. Rachel wants him to stay, but she wants him to stay because he WANTS to. Not because of the secret she has to tell him about. Kyle and Rachel’s story absolutely blew me away! I had so many emotions running through my mind while reading this book – something that only happens with a good story, for me! Kyle is sexy, sweet, up standing, caring, and adorable with kids. He has always put everyone else’s needs before his own. But, he takes what he wants from Rachel and she gives back just as equally. Ahh, their sex scenes were scorching HOT!! Honestly, I was disappointed that Rachel ended up with James at all. He was such a mommy’s boy and would not stand up to his mother for his wife, something I found irritating. But, in the end, Rachel and Kyle got their HEA and all is right in the world. The author’s writing style is really well done and something I enjoy in my books. Even though I have never read anything by her before, I will be going back and reading the rest of this series because this one was that good! *copy provided for review.

His Reason to Stay by Cathryn Fox is another hot addition to her "In the Line of Duty" series. I have read and enjoyed the first five books and this one is equally as good. I really liked the main characters because they were amazingly kind-hearted, down to earth, and always put the needs of the people they cared about ahead of their own. A precocious four-year-old little girl only adds to the well-written narrative. Dental hygienist Rachel Andrews loves with all her heart and soul. She grew up alongside the Nelson brothers and fell in love with both of them, while they were equally enamored with her. Although she married James, it was Kyle who truly captured her heart. Due to an inherited health condition, James passed away at a very young age, which left Rachel a single mom. Now Kyle is back in town, on leave from the military. Kyle is an ammunitions expert, but has always wanted to work with his father in their family's investment firm. Kyle finally has the opportunity to get what he wants, in both his career and love life. I truly liked all the facets of this engaging read, however, I would have enjoyed it even more with a little less sex and a little more storyline. Rachel and Kyle are two lonely people, that together make the perfect couple. Their sexy times are hot and plentiful. Their journey to forever is complicated, and Ms. Fox tells their story with love, discovery and lots of lust. Letting go of their fears from the past enables them to be a family. This is a passionate book that should definitely be added to you TBR list. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

Rachel Andrews is struggling to find some semblance of a normal life after losing her husband James unexpectedly two years ago. Everyday she wakes up and tries to put on a brave face, and does all she can to make sure her daughter is getting everything she needs, even if she isn't. When the grief of losing her husband passed, loneliness settled in, and she just can't bring herself to move on and find someone new. She loved her husband dearly, but at the same time another part of her heart has always belonged to his brother, Kyle. She met both of them at the same time, and fell for both of them for very different reasons, and has carried a special place in her heart for both of them all this time. And she has always wondered if she picked the right brother four years ago, when James proposed and staked his claim, Kyle did the brotherly thing and walked away, leaving her to think James was the right choice. But after two years of mediocre marriage to the man, and a lot of time to sort out her feelings she has came to the realization that she said yes to the wrong brother... now she just has to find the courage to tell him and hope he doesn't' walk away from her again. Kyle Nelson has returned home to make amends, he needs to repair his relationship with his parents, establish a relationship with his niece, and face the woman he walked away from four years ago. Leaving her behind, and watching his brother have the life with her that he hoped would someday be his, completely devastated him. He has loved Rachel since he first met her, and has always wondered if he made the right choice walking away from her, and letting his brother be the one walk her down the aisle. He knows coming home to face her again is going to be hard, but he knows it's time to step up be the man she needs him to be and be the uncle his niece so desperately needs... now he just has to hope she is willing to give him another chance. I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this story and my opportunity to make a return visit to this series for some time now, and I have to say it was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! Ms. Fox has once again outdone herself, this beautiful story captured my heart, invaded my thoughts, and left me emotionally spent... which in my book makes for one VERY satisfying read!! This is by far one of my favorite series to read, and I highly encourage you to give it a try, not only you will be treated to some exceptional reading but always have the opportunity to meet some very well crafted characters that are sure to leave an indelible impression on your heart! Is it possible to love two brothers at once? Is it possible to chose one over the other? When one is pushing you into his brother's arms, even if he's the one you may truly want? Rachel loves James and Kyle. Rachel marries James but she still longs for Kyle. What happens when 2 years after James passes, Kyle returns. Can she ignore her feelings? Can she convince him she and Ava are what he needs? His reason to stay is a twisty plot with plenty of steam to keep you interested. The characters feel real, their wants and dilemmas feel real. You will be rooting for a happy ever after while reading this one. The continuation of Cathryn Fox's In the Line of Duty series, book six will not disappoint. Bringing back several favorite characters from previous books and the dogs, to leave you feeling like friends or family. I can't wait for book 7 and hopefully many more

Cathryn Fox has created a story of beauty, betrayal, secrets, grief and second chances. I received an ARC of His Reason to Stay in exchange for an honest review. Childhood friends Kyle and Rachel have always been a little in love with each other. There has always been a connection that bordered on more than just friendship but in the end they drifted apart and moved on with their lives. Rachel married James (Kyle's brother) and Kyle joined the army. When a heartbreaking loss brings them face to face emotions come to a head and secrets have a way of being exposed. His Reason to Stay is a look at how choices influence lives. A second chance story that has a lot of unexpected turns but was as emotional as it was desirable.
