Honor Bound by B. J. Daniels

Protecting her life will mean betraying her trust

Ainsley Hamilton has always been the responsible one of the family. As the oldest daughter of presidential candidate Buckmaster Hamilton, she's also a potential target. For months she's sensed someone following her. When an expedition to scout locations for a commercial takes a terrifying turn, she's rescued by a natural-born cowboy who tempts the good girl to finally let loose.

Sawyer Nash knows just how reckless it is to fall for someone he's gone undercover to protect. Yet masquerading as an extra on set, he starts to see beneath Ainsley's controlled facade. And with the election—and a killer—drawing closer, Sawyer stands to lose not just his job and his life but the woman for whom he'd gladly risk both.

What an ending to a great series. We now know all about Sarah and the big plans for The Prophecy along with Buck and if he will become the new President. This is the last of the series as well as the last story of the 6 daughters. There are stories inside of stories as we touch base with all the characters and what is happening to them. Ainsley is the good daughter she does nothing wrong always doing what is expected of her. That is about to change with danger near and a stalker stalking her, her life is about to change. Sawyer is called in to help protect Ainsley the only thing is she doesn’t know why he is there. Their coming together is exciting along with the trails they will have to go through before we find out if it might be love for these two. Honor Bound is an exciting read that really pulls you in through the danger, stalker, ex’s, a mother that has been missing for 20 years, a father that is so much in love with her he can’t see straight and The Prophecy that wants something from him. As Sarah finally gets her memory back of her past and her passionate ex lover and the effect it will have on her family along with the race to become the first lady. An exciting read that is full of broken promises, heart break, new love, old loves and the adventure they go on why trying to keep people alive. When I first picked up the first book in this series I had not a clue where the author would take this. With the ending I was very much surprised at the turn of events. What a wonderful ending with such passion and thrills. Sawyer has his work cut out for him not only in keeping Ainsley save but to make her understand why he did what he did. It is touch and go with many people in their way. You will also find out what happens to Cassidy and Jack. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to hear more of their story and how they finally make it all work out. The author does touch on this but I would love to have seen it all play out. Yes it is the ending of the series that I didn’t want to end. I feel there is so much more to tell of this family and hate to say good bye to them. It is a series I will be rereading again and most likely will listen on audio. I loved the touching plot, the sorrow, love, getting to know each character. What really hooked me was the sub plot about Sarah, her past, her future and just how it all plays out. I loved the adventure, danger, thrills and even a few chilling moments that just about stopped my heart. There is no doubt I was hooked from the first page until the last. I hope everyone will enjoy this thrilling exciting read as much as I have.

Western romantic suspense at its best! HONOR BOUND by B.J. Daniels is the sixth and final thrilling installment in the author’s intense, action-packed, fast-paced Montana Hamiltons’ series. It’s both a riveting mystery and a hot romance! As with the previous books, readers are treated to a mosaic of plots within plots within plots. Don’t let that scare you away! I’m always blown away how, under this author’s tutelage, it totally works! This is the story of Ainsley Hamilton, the oldest daughter of presidential candidate Buckmaster Hamilton, and undercover FBI agent Sawyer Nash. HONOR BOUND also wraps up Sarah’s ‘Prophecy’ saga and readers become privy to the latest concerning one of my favorite couples, Beartooth, Montana’s Sheriff Frank Curry and Nettie. I was thrilled to read about what they have planned and am hoping, hoping, hoping to read more about them in the future! HONOR BOUND can be enjoyed as a standalone read if that is your preference. The author seamlessly integrates critical information a novice reader to this series would need to know – so those unfamiliar with the various storylines will never find themselves lost. However, each of the previous books have included clues and each book has deepened the reader’s connection to the primary characters and their backgrounds. So, for maximum enjoyment, it would be best to read this series in order, if you can. Besides, this series has been a fantastic read and, now that the series is tidily wrapped up, you could read it straight through! As HONOR-BOUND opens, it’s a cold November night in the fairground outside Beartooth, Montana, as the presidential election results are announced over the loudspeakers. The fairground is crawling with security. What part will the ‘Prophecy’ play and will those with parts to play in it irretrievably change the course of the future? Leading up to this night, Sheriff Frank Curry is seriously worried about Ainsley who has had a mysterious stalker for months. The Sheriff makes a call to Sawyer Nash, who is still recovering from injuries from his last mission, and asks him for a favor. He needs someone he trusts to protect Ainsley and catch whoever has been stalking her. Ainsley is on location scouting shooting locales in the middle of wild, untamed nowhere when Sawyer joins her there mixing in as an extra with the crew. OMG… B.J. superbly relates this couple’s tale. Ainsley and Sawyer hit it off immediately. We meet Sawyer’s bitter ex-girlfriend FBI agent – who I wanted to personally bludgeon – and jewel thieves and Ainsley’s scary seriously loco stalker! Ainsley and Sawyer have great chemistry… but the odds are stacked heavily against them. B.J.’s Montana Hamiltons’ series has been western romantic suspense at its best. B.J. has a special knack for interweaving multiple plotlines into her stories. In HONOR BOUND, those twisted, entangled storylines get their stunning, but robust, big bows as they all come together in a stunning conclusion. Characters and events reveal their pre-destined parts as the story surges to an ostensibly dark apocalyptic ending. Truthfully, I spent most of the book on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend HONOR BOUND to anyone who enjoys complex and gripping western romantic suspense. My full review is posted at Reading Between The Wines Book Club. Please check it out there!

The satisfying conclusion to the Montana Hamiltons was amazing! I almost didn't want to read it because then the series would be over! However, I had to find out how everything ended up so I tried to read slowly but that didn't happen either! I read the book in two days because it just grabs you from the first page and reels you in! I've been waiting to find out what Ainsley's backstory was - she's the oldest Hamilton daughter - and I wasn't disappointed. She's always been the responsible one, the straight-laced one who is a goody-two shoes. It's not that she breaks out big in that, but she does "try her wings" a little to find out who she is. And, Sawyer Nash, was a perfect guy for her. Although he was sent undercover to protect her, he ends up falling for her and comes up big time in the rescue dept.! Of course we also find out all the answers regarding Sarah and "The Prophecy". It's an exciting an heart-stopping conclusion! A lot of loose ends are tied up in the book because so many things need to be tied up! I think readers will be happy with how everything turns out. I will miss all the Hamiltons. I've invested so much time and emotion into this family that I will certainly miss reading more about them! I will also miss Sheriff Curry & Lynette! Two of my favorite characters! The book is a great wrap up! I heartily recommend it!

A terrific western filled with action, danger and drama in many different forms. This is the last installment of the series, and all the loose ends, that seemed to be several, from the previous books are wrapped up and brought to conclusion. There are several storylines going on at the same time, the reader gets to catch up with the folks from the other titles, Ainsley's parents still had some unfinished business to clear up, ex-girlfriend's jealousy causing problems, and so on. There's a lot going on, and to keep up with everything, it might have been beneficial to read the previous books in the series, something I didn't do. The book can be read as a standalone novel, but I would recommend reading the previous books first. The suspense, danger, and action are constant and intense. The culprits, that kept me guessing until the end, gave me the chills and made me check the locks in the house. The author changes scenes in the story on a fly and left me hanging, biting my nails, several times. The romance was more on the back side of the tale, nearly drown by everything else going on in the tale, yet still left me satisfied with the events and final solution. An explosive and drama filled ending to a western family saga, spiced up with political power games, menace, and threats, tension and high emotions. ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
