This book consists of instructions from a narrator on how to give a cat a bath and a young girl’s attempt at doing so. The concept of the story is a good one although I am not certain that it works here. The different dialogues are confusing and blend together. I enjoyed the illustrations. They were cute and funny. A good book for imitating the voices of different characters. I received an ARC from Penguin Random House – Canada through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book.
Who knew what adventures you'd pursue in trying to bathe your cat? If you have a cat, don't have a cat but have a sense of humor or have a child who loves to laugh then this book is for you! I think it needs to be categorized with adult literature as well because I found it hilarious and so did my toddler! The illustrations are so adorable and the main character has a quirky spirit. I identify with her character so much as I often find myself eating multiple cookies while engaging in difficult tasks. I also love how she engages the narrator, it makes the book truly unique. This is a perfect addition to any little library and is sure to please little readers over and over again. I'd love this book in a small pocket size, it is definitely coffee table worthy!
This book is adorable! But note, it will not actually give you instructions on how to give a cat a bath (I mean come on! Did you actually think it would?) It was super cute tho! The story was snarky and funny and surprisingly realistic. The artwork lent itself perfectly to the story. The girl and the cat are adorable. It actually reminded me of my brother and his cats.
Children who have cats as pets and/or adults who do will find this book to be fun and amusing. A little girl wants to give her cat a bath...we all know that cats are not on board for that. Read what happens while enjoying the illustrations in this quick story book read.
