There are sounds of a civil war that can be heard in the airways and a sense of a civil war that can be felt brewing in the atmosphere. I am not speaking of the division within the nation, but of the division within the nation of God - the body of Christ. The quarrels, clashes and conflicts within the body of Christ who are contending for what is right when it comes to love.
Whether it is the right for same-sex marriage, social rights on behalf of transgender relations, or reproductive rights for gay parenting and even abortion. A divided church has been partnering with these social issues for the sake of justice and the greater good in the name of the love of Christ. While within the separate body of Christ there are those who are opposing these issues for the sake of righteousness and the greater good in the name of the love for Christ.
And since these differences are within the church, the question we should ask ourselves is not who is right, but we should ask ourselves a much greater question and that is what is right when it comes to love.
"Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side; for God is always right." - Abraham Lincoln
