Kale, the youngest of the elite Light Fae Warriors chosen to protect the Human World from the dark creatures that lurk in the shadows, has had a life that’s been hard fought and racked with betrayal, loss and heartache. Finding comfort in the physical manifestation of pain, Kale has discarded what is expected of Rowan’s Warriors, and now lives for the harder side of human life with his trusty bottle of Patron, hiding from the scars of his past.
Katarina knew the day Darion imprisoned her that the life she’d once longed for was gone. The illusion that a Light Fae could ever love a woman of the Dark was over. Yet, while building a new life among the humans, Katarina’s past is thrust upon her when the Warriors call on her to help in finding an elusive Fae, who is leaving a trail of bodies in its wake. Katrina is then forced to follow the orders of the very Fae who betrayed her.
As secrets and lies unravel around them, Kat and Kale find that their past was never what it seemed, and that discovering what is true will be the most difficult battle of their lives.

“The truth, Kale… The truth would be the best place to start.”
“You and I must have a differing view of the truth in this situation, because in no way would the truth as I know it make you any less guilty.”

The second book in the Immortal Heart series focuses on Kale, the youngest of the Immortal Warriors, & Katarina, a succubus. We already knew that Kale had lost his love from the first book. But we never knew the details. Now we do!!! And, oh what a story!!! We start the story with Kale, Bain, & Izzy leaving a WWE Raw match, when Kale catches what he thinks is a familiar scent. Instead of going back to Izzy’s with the others he decides to follow it. He knows it can’t be her; she has been dead for 15 years, but…. Just as he’s about to find out who he’s following he gets clotheslined by a Trow. How is a Trow in the Human World? Their magic isn’t strong enough to come through the portals. Knowing what they know about Succubi, the Immortal Warriors set a trap & catch Katarina & her Trow, Jake. And so the story ensues!!! And what a story. There are some really fantastic twists in this book. I can’t wait to read more in this series!!! If you haven’t started it yet you are really missing out on a wonderful series. And what I REALLY love about these books, each one is about a different main character but we still learn more about the ones we’ve come to love.

Wow!!! I love everything about this book! In the first book, I fell in love with Bain and Izzy, but this time it was Kale and Katarina's turn to take the spotlight. They bring us an awesome tale of star-crossed lovers caught up in deception, pain, love and forgiveness. The imagery in the book is incredible and so detailed, you will feel you are really there, caught up in the action. The lore is wonderfully creative and imaginative, and leaves you wishing the book were longer so it didnt have to end. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book to come out, I wish I could just move into the world of the book and stay there.

I have a favorite immortal warrior, and his name is Kale. Just sayin’ I love Magen’s world and her fae. The way she brings you into her world, and shows you a little of all the cast is great. I knew the last book, that Kale was going to be my favorite. Okay, sure that could change later, but for now, he is. She does a great job of taking two people who have been through hell at the lies of another, and brings together beautifully. The further we get into the series, the more we see with the different fae. I can’t wait for the next book, and who Magen will introduce next. That is probably all I can say without giving too much away, so I'll stop there.
