In Mistletoe by Tammy L. Bailey

At twenty-five, Grace Evans is steadily picking up the pieces of everyone else's life. So, when her younger sister decides to turn into a runaway bride just four weeks before the wedding, Grace, drops everything to chase after her and bring her back home. Only, when the trail leads to Mistletoe, Washington, she finds herself at the mercy of the town's most handsome and emotionally unavailable bachelor.

Ex-Army officer, Ayden McCabe, has three creeds in life: never make the first move, never fall in love, and never take anyone to Mistletoe's Christmas Dance. Wanting nothing more than to keep his matchmaking sister from meddling in his personal life, he agrees to help Grace if she agrees to play his girlfriend. Too brunette and meek for his taste, Ayden believes Grace can't tempt him enough to break any of his creeds. He could not be more wrong.

This is the first book I read by this author , and am glad I got a chance to do so. Yes, it’s a romance but it’s also a story about family, about people that have flaws just like us, and how a bargain can turn around to be the best deal that was ever made. The town of Mistletoe is one I hope will be revisited in future books. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Grace Evans is trying to track down a run away bride, her sister. Grace's life has not been her own for a very long time. Both her mother and sister have counted on her to take care of them. She also has a scum of the earth boyfriend. That is only her boyfriend when it's convenient for him. I think she's been taken advantage of and needs to tell all these people to grow up. For example, she's using her own money to track her sister down. She ends up in Mistletoe, Washington. It doesn't take long for the townspeople to get involved. She meets up with the towns famous bachelor, Ayden McCabe. He is very honest with every woman he meets that he will not fall in love with them. Grace and Ayden strike up a bargain. She gets a place to stay and he'll help find her sister. Ayden gets a pretend girlfriend to get his well-meaning sister off his back. As this book goes along these two open up more and more to each other. Through Ayden Grace becomes a stronger person. There are some funny moments, especially with the other townspeople involved. I like Grace's character. She is so giving to everyone. Ayden doesn't realize how much Grace means to him until she leaves. This is a very heartwarming story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

Rating: 4.5 Okay, I have to love a story with a main character that has the same appearance and practically identical personality as me I mean hellooo~ can she get any more perfect? Bland brunette my butt! She is gorgeous inside and out and as the story progresses, IT SHOWS! I love transformation pieces like this. They really catch the reader's attention and leave you with some sort of an after thought. In this case I got a better look of myself through Jess partially because we are spookily similar. She's got that mother hen thing going for her and from experience I do know that can get a bit extreme and overwhelming. It was a good experience for me to see or well, read it, I suppose, on someone else. Noooot always an attractive look, I've realized. Because of Grace's dilemma, she meets Ayden, a real man and her best hope in feeding her "lifestyle"/as it turns out, changing it. As I said this is a transformation story about two very different individuals coming together and changing for the better. Change is a good thing and "In Mistletoe" really emphasizes this point. This is my favorite holiday romance so far and it's made me pumped for the season!

4 1/2 stars Always the one to take care of her mother and sister, Danielle, Grace goes to Mistletoe, Washington to find Danielle, who has run away just weeks before her wedding. There she requests the help of Ayden, a former Army officer and ladies man. In exchange for helping Grace to find Danielle, he asks that Grace pretend to be his girlfriend so that his matchmaking sister, Maggie, who has plastered flyers all over town trying to set him up for the Christmas Eve Eve dance, will stop nagging him. I had a hard time getting into In Mistletoe. Initially I found the character of Grace to be a doormouse, which seemed to contradict the fact that she took care of her mother and sister. In some of the first scenes she also came across as a bit of a ditz. However, the more I read, the more I liked. The romance between Grace and Ayden is slow to take hold. He’s used to women being attracted to him and falling in love with him. Grace is attracted to him, but she refuses to be just another number. However, neither can stop the smoldering attraction they have for each other, which is one of the huge draws of In Mistletoe. Both Ayden and Grace have a lot of baggage: Ayden because he’s shut himself off emotionally and Grace because she undervalues herself. Together they manage to start removing the baggage and open up to each other. I found this to be the perfect little Christmas romance with all of the ingredients of Christmas music, getting the tree, decorations, mistletoe and sweet, sweet romance. The characters who make up Mistletoe, Washington also bring the story very much to life. Let me not forget to mention that Danielle’s disappearance also adds a touch of mystery—where was she and what was she doing? In Mistletoe is a charming take on Christmas romance with a little something for everyone. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"In Mistletoe" by Tammy Bailey is Grace Evans and Ayden McCabe's story. Ayden and Grace make a deal with each. He will help her find her sister and she will pretend to be his girlfriend to get his sister stop her matchmaking. Neither one want to be involved in a real relationship. Well, things don't always go the way we think that they should. This was an okay story for me. Their story is a sweet story but Ayden did frustrate me at times. I enjoyed the little town of Mistletoe. It's more 3.5 stars. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this

She's a nuturer with a lot of love to give and no one to share it with. He's a loner who makes his own rules and has no intention of breaking them. Or so they thought. The winds of change have Aiden and Grace on a collision course with romance and the town of Mistletoe is an enchanting backdrop for happily ever afters. In Mistletoe is my introduction to author Tammy Bailey and I am more than a little impressed. Her enchanting holiday read was just the read I needed to lift my spirits and warm my heart. Miracles, memories and wonderment abound in this beautifully sentimental tale.
