In The Tall Trees

Mella is four years old. She doesn't know why her mommy wears a chain, or why they can never leave the tiny house in the woods. She doesn't know why her daddy comes with the bad man, or why they have to be a secret. All she knows is she has to be brave, braver than any four-year-old should ever have to be.
