Overview

In Too Deep by Lexi Ryan

New York Times bestselling author Lexi Ryan brings readers a sexy NFL player who's pulled out all the stops for one more chance with the love of his life.

I have four months to make my wife fall in love with me or let her go forever.

I loved Bailey Green long before she watched her loser ex take his last breaths. I held her while they lowered his coffin into the ground, stilled her shaking hands when the nightmares would tear her from sleep. I waited for her through her grief. But while she was always willing to let me in her bed, she refused to let me in the one place I longed to be-her heart.

Tired of playing second string to a dead man, I let her go. I moved to Florida to begin my NFL career and tried to pretend my perfect life didn't leave me empty. I'd almost given up. Until one drunken night in Vegas, we stumbled down the aisle and said "I do."

In exchange for the divorce she wants so badly, she's agreed to remain my wife until the end of the year. She has no idea the favors I've called in or the lies I've told to get her here, but if I succeed, none of that matters.

My secrets always seemed justified, but Bailey has her own-secrets that explain why she always pushed me away, secrets that make me wonder if I should have let her. Now we're in too deep and I might lose the only girl I've ever loved and the best friend I've ever had.

In Too Deep is a sexy and emotional novel intended for mature readers. It's the fifth book in the world of the Blackhawk Boys, but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

The author did a great job with character development as well as the storyline which was excellent, BUT I think that the sex scenes were just blah! They took forever to get to that point and when they did it was anti-climatic and really just boring. If they were holding out for that long, you would think that it would be a very good reason for them to get together...ummm no! In addition, for her having been a stripper, you would have thought that she would be more sexual but that fell flat for me too. I found that I was skipping through many of the flashback parts because in my opinion there was too much focus on that and it was long winded.

A Review of In Too Deep: The Blackhawk Boys, Book #5 by Lexi Ryan Mason and Bailey - 5+++++ stars O. M. Geeeee!! Ms. Ryan has definitely done it again! She has taken two characters that we've loved from the other books in this series and given life to them in such a way that they seem like people I would actually talk to and want to hang out with. We've known for quite a while that Bailey has secrets that are keeping her from giving herself totally to Mason, even though we know she is so in love with him. Now we learn that he had secrets as well and boy does my heart break for both of them. I think this may actually be my favorite story of the five guys and their ladies, but each of them hold a special place in my heart. Although they have grown and moved on from Blackhawk Hills University, my heart will always belong to a Blackhawk boy (or more)! I really hope this isn't the last we see of these wonderful characters, from the entire series. Gotta love that cover! Definitely worth the time to enjoy! One of the quotes in the book is “You say you want to be my friend,” he says, “but friends don’t lie to each other. They don’t hide their pasts.” --- I'm not sure I totally agree with that. I think that sometimes secrets have to be kept to protect the innocent and to be able to live with yourself, but I do think complete honesty and open communication is valuable for a committed relationship. **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**

I knew this book was going to be good. I have waited and waited for Mason and Bailey's book, and felt for them in every Blackhawk Boys book from the beginning. But I don't think I was expected THIS book. It was emotional. It tore my heart out. It made me cry and I DO NOT cry when I read books. I don't. But Bailey and Mason's story just took every bit of pent up emotion that they shared in the past 4 years and just forced them to confront it head on. Their stories are far more intertwined that they even realize going into IN TO DEEP, and every new revelation just floored me. I can't get over how perfectly made Mason and Bailey are for each other, yet how epically twisted of a deal life handed to them, but without every single one of their obstacles they wouldn't have learned and grown into the people that found complete and utter solace in the other. The beauty of Mason and Bailey is in the fear, in the past, in the present, and most importantly in the future. I would love nothing more than to see these two 10 years down the road. That's a book I desperately need. But for now I will revel in the wonderful story Ms. Ryan handed to her readers and bask in the perfectness that surpassed even what I expected from Mason and Bailey's HEA. Happy Reading! *ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I have been madly in love with the Blackhawk Boys ever since reading the description for Spinning Out and taking a chance on a new to me author. Lexi has kept me entranced by these jersey wearing hotties who seem to always be cloaked in mystery and secrets. Although I have loved everyone of the heroes and heroines in this series, Lexi has kept me titillated and teased with glimpses into what we would be in for with Mason and Bailey in her newest book In Too Deep. It wasn't long into their story that Mason and Bailey had me wrapped in their web of secrets, lies, and irrepressible desire with no hope of escape. Mason Dahl had me enraptured from the moment I first met him in Spinning Out. He has kept me captivated and intrigued throughout the whole series and eager to get to know this handsome, kind hearted jock a whole lot better! What I didn't expect was for his secrets to be as insurmountable as Bailey's. Who knew that underneath his jovial and caring personality there was secrecy that kept him bound to Bailey but also had him at arm's length as well. I love, love, love Mason! From his delicious dark skinned muscles to his amazing big heart. He wooed and charmed me with every move he made. If there is anyone who can help her see her self worth, inner beauty and strength, it is Mason! He has had reader's hearts pitter pattering throughout the series and had our libidos up to a full throttle by the end of his story. Bailey Green has piqued my curiosity with her hard facade, cynical outlook on life, and ability to always persevere. I knew that her secrets ran deep but I never could have guessed that a reader could drown in them. Bailey evokes strong emotions of admiration and sympathy in a reader and leaves us with stars in our eyes. Lexi Ryan delivers a phenomenal love story of strength and tenacity. I highly recommend In Too Deep for a romance that gives us heat, history, and emotions that are sure to overwhelm and consume. Lexi has quickly become one of my favorite authors and will remain so with each new and engrossing couple that she provides her readers. Lexi Ryan is a go to author in every way!

Bailey has a secret that will follow her for ever and always have a hold in her heart. Is Mason the man that can unlock that secret and get a little piece of her heart in the process ?? Or will there past stay in the past ?? The chemistry and hidden love between these two characters will have you screaming at the book .... tell each other .... just say it !! In college these two were a pair .. friends/lovers until Bailey's heart for a certain old flame got in the way and her mind started thinking she wasn't good enough for Mason .. true to be told so did some family members on Mason's side .. but Bailey wasn't strong enough to put up a fight and when an opportunity came to light for her she took it and knew she would ALWAYS. REGRET IT !! And regret it she did but you will never m so what that sexy hot football player had in mind ?? Could Mason convince Bailey she will always be his even after a 4 year friends thing or will her secrets run to deep .... Will the advice of Mason's family member's make his mind up for him or will he go with his heart ?? Everyone makes mistakes even Mason !! Wow just Wow .. loved these two !!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Where to begin... I have anxiously waited for Mason and Bailey's story since the beginning. You saw glimpses into them throughout this series, and you know going in that there is something in Bailey's past that holds her back. Their story brought so many emotions from all sides, not just Mason and Bailey's. You find closure in ways you didn't even think you needed until you read it. Just writing this review chokes me up. This book gave me such a hangover, it took quite a while before I could pick up another one. If I ever wanted to see a book turn into a movie, it would be Mason and Bailey's story (along with all the Blackhawk Boys). I don't want to give anything away, but Lexi gave us so much, and I absolutely LOVED this story!

Finally! I have been waiting, not so patiently, for Mason and Bailey's passionate and tumultuous story and I was not disappointed! I absolutely loved this story of redemption and second chances! Mason and Bailey met in college and have had a fiery, passionate, complicated relationship ever since. They come from two different worlds, but don't see that in each other. Unfortunately for them, that is all others see and are determined to keep them apart. Bailey is from the wrong side of the tracks and has had to struggle to pull herself out of that world. Mason comes from privilege but doesn't rely on it. He see's Bailey for who she really is, a strong, smart, determined, sexy woman. He believes in her when she is afraid to believe in herself. This book picks up where book four, Falling Hard, leaves off. Mason and Bailey had a drunken night in Vegas with their friends and woke up married. Now Bailey wants Mason to give her an annulment because she doesn't believe she deserves such a wonderful man. Mason has other plans and refuses to let her go. But Bailey has secrets in her past that she fears Mason won't be able to forgive her for and will tear them apart. I love Mason so much! He is so sweet, kind, patient and sexy. He is so in love with Bailey and is determined to finally make her his. Mason and Bailey are so perfect together and their chemistry is explosive. Ms Ryan skillfully revealed this story in alternating past and present sequence allowing the reader to be truly engaged both emotionally and thoughtfully. She expertly weaved a tale of loyalty and betrayal, of love and heartbreak, and ultimately of hope and healing. This story is a raw and emotional journey with several twists and turns that will keep you guessing. I can't get enough of this series and this group of friends. I have grown to really care for each of them. This fun, exhilarating, emotional and sexy series is a must read!

Lexi Ryan scores with IN TOO DEEP the fifth book in the Blackhawk Boys Series. I couldn’t wait to read this story. Mason Dahl and Bailey Green have been involved since the first book to the series. Their relationship is complicated, and there was so much more going on than what you gathered from the previous books. Mason and Baily got married in Las Vegas while at the bachelor/bachelorette party in book four, FALLING HARD. Now Mason has devised a plan to try to win Baily over for good, but he’s on a short timetable to convince her. This contemporary football romance is suitable for new adult and adult audiences. Lexi Ryan did an amazing job with her character development. Mason and Baily come from different means. Regardless they have many similarities and make a fantastic couple. They care about each other deeply. Mason and Baily try to protect each other in their own way. They both are very human and make mistakes. They have difficult obstacles to overcome and become stronger for it. The plot was clever and believable. Mason’s relationship with Gulf Gators NFL franchise owner, Bill McCombs, puts an interesting spin on the story. Mason’s ex-girlfriend, Lindy, also creates some compelling turbulence. It amazed me what a great guy Mason turned out to be with Christian Dahl as his father. It must have been his mother’s influence. We discover multiple life-changing secrets that both Mason and Baily have been keeping. I like that the story spans over four years, flashing back and forth in time. I love this series. Each book is extremely powerful. After reading every novel, I think there is no way that Lexi Ryan can match or top the previous story. She has amazing done so. If you follow the Blackhawk Boys series, you won’t want to miss this story. If you haven’t read this series, you could probably read this book as a standalone, but I think you would enjoy it more if you read the series in order. Every book is skillfully written and a worthwhile read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
