I really enjoyed this book about Hadley and Alex. This book had action, love, family, good guys and bad guys. Alex met Hadley when they ran into each other at a coffee shop. You well really like this book but you need to read the others in order. I can’t wait for the next book.

## I enjoyed this book a whole lot. It was a tad short, but I liked it nonetheless. The heroine was a super sweet 22 year old vet student, and the hero a sexy 32 year old assassin. An unlikely pair that had terrific chemistry and just worked together. Loved the action as well. Great read.

I've read many books by this author, I might add very happily read her books. This book in the 'Redemption Harbor' series was not a disappointment. I mean how many authors can get you to fall in love with a hitman? From the first chapter of 'Innocent Target' I was hooked, I mean the kind of hooked like if the house caught on fire I'd be leaving with just my kindle, charger and phone, just in-case... shrugs shoulders priority's and all. Hadley is new to the area, new to the school, new to her friends and new to her father and half brother. Even though they did not know she existed until recently, they love her and want to protect her. Though she sees it at times as overprotective, overbearing, like two “big bulldogs” but loves having them in her life. One night after her college class Hadley finds herself in a bad situation, with an attacker at her back and hands wrapped around her neck, she wished for her overprotective family and friends were close by. But what she finds is a mysterious man taking on the bad guy and placing his unconscious body in the trunk of a car? Trying to get the attack off her mind and going about her life she runs, like literally runs into a sexy man that she finds very attractive. Axel, what a sexy and dangerous name for a man in... Finance? Really? That's the ridiculous story he gives Hadley. When really his job is a little more of a “hands on" kind of job, or a knife or a scope but with the same end game. But he's different then some in his line of work, he has morals, he will not hurt innocent people. Which is exactly what Hadley is, innocent, so he will protect her as best as a hitman can. I really liked the two characters as a couple. I felt because of Hadley's brother and friends ability to live in a gray area, she was able to accept Axel and his choice of career. I also like having previous characters from the first books in the story, because I just love Skye, in every scene she is in I always have a big smile on my face from her. I have to say, I have read some really bad hitman stories and felt by far this was a better written scenario then those other books. I felt the characters were more believable as real people, people I want on my side. If you like books with ex-military men/women who follow the law in the gray, action, suspense, some hot sexy scenes, and characters you will love for a long time. This is a book for you. Enjoy! ***I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review via NetGalley, this is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the author, Publishers or NetGalley in anyway.*** Thank you!

Made it to chapter five then started skipping pages. Too much soul searching and not enough action.

Hadley Lane has only recently connected with her father and step-brother, Douglas and Brooks Alexander, but it’s been the best decision she ever made. A bitter mother has left Hadley closed off from others, but she’s finally living the life she’s always wanted. But that all changes when Hadley is attacked at her college campus and a mysterious man saves her but disappears before she can identify him. Axel O’Sullivan lives in the shadows, a grim reaper who hunts and kills criminals that slip through the justice system’s cracks. When a contract for Hadley’s kidnapping comes across his desk he knows he has to protect her — she’s too innocent to be targeted this way. But instead of revealing who he is and why he’s in Redemption Harbor he finds himself on a date with Hadley and completely captivated by her beauty, intelligence, and sweet nature. I was intrigued by the idea for Innocent Target and was looking forward to how Katie Reus would handle a contract killer falling in love. It was immediately clear that Axel might be a killer but he’s a big marshmallow on the inside. His methods are illegal but his intentions are noble and he takes it upon himself to get rid of the truly evil. Axel is an incredibly honorable man regardless of his “career” choices and I’m glad that Hadley so easily recognized that once she knew everything. Even with his overpowering attraction, Axel still takes things slow with Hadley (or tries to since she’s got plans of her own, yowza!) and respects her boundaries in their new relationship. At such a young age, Hadley is a very responsible and together young woman and this maturity allows her to look at Axel’s job, and the work that her brother does for Redemption Harbor Consulting, and see the good they are doing while living in the gray. It’s pretty much love at first sight for Axel and Hadley is close to follow, which was a bit surprising considering both their backgrounds. I would have figured them to be more hesitant instead of just jumping right in with their emotions. However, that hard-lived past has finely tuned their survivor skills and their ability to recognize someone’s true nature. Even with Hadley and Axel taking things a slower they still have a ton of chemistry and fireworks. I loved their first intimate interaction because it’s a little different than the usual romance novel but I won’t spoil it, you’ll just have to read it on your own. In addition to Hadley and Axel’s romance, the reader also gets a bunch of scenes told from the point of view of Skye (from Resurrection) which was pretty entertaining because Skye is acerbic, tough, and a bit bloodthirsty when it comes to protecting those she loves. Sometimes I felt this took away from the development of our main character’s relationship but overall they were a nice bonus to the story.

Loved, loved, loved this book!! Axel is uber alpha and so sweet and protective! I loved the dynamic between the main characters and the story line was a perfect blend of heavy and light moments. Axel's backstory is heartbreaking and you can literally feel his loneliness. Hadley was no TSTL. She was kind-hearted and brave but knew that she was out of her element dealing with the fact that she was a target so she left it to the professionals to handle. A huge thank you to the author for that. It drives me INSANE when the heroine runs off half cocked only to create more problems for the hero. Redemption Harbor has become one of my all time favorite romantic suspense series! Innocent Target is a great read for those that enjoy sweet romance with some moments of suspense.

Another awesome offering from Katie Reus set in Redemption Harbour. Hadley has just found her father and half brother. The trouble is that her father is rich .... very rich. Now somebody wants to wreak revenge on her father by kidnapping Hadley. Axle is a contract killer. When the contract for Hadley comes into him he knows he needs to make her safe. What he hadn’t anticipated was falling in love with her.

It has been a while since I have read a Katie Reus book … and now I remember why I like her writing so much! Her characters are very interesting and her writing pulls me quickly into the storyline. I haven’t read the other books in this series, yet, but I didn’t feel that I was missing anything while reading INNOCENT TARGET. All of the characters melded together very well and the interactions with them seems seamless. Axel is a very interesting character. His past has created someone who, I think, shows a very strong moral code. His job is not conventional, but he does his own part to protect those that he can and that is what Hadley originally was suppose to be. The sister to an acquaintance, he was only going to look out for her until he could fully assess the situation and contact her brother, but that quickly changed. Hadley brought out something in him that he didn’t expect and that changed the whole game. Hadley is such a sweet character. She really does want to see the best of people, but even she admits that is not always that is real. She also has a very quiet strength and a stubbornness that came out when I least expected it. Another thing that I really liked about her character was that she didn’t let someone else take over the whole issue for her. She wanted to know what was going on and she completely backed Axel when push came to shove. All in all, awesome story! I loved the characters and the book had me immediately. I devoured it within a couple hours and really enjoyed the whole play of things and the writing style. I am definitely going to have to go back and get the first three books so that I can find out more about the earlier characters!

She was the target. She was also an innocent. Axel O'Sullivan was hired to take her out. But he decided to take another way. He could not turn his back afterwards, he would make sure she was ok. Hadley Lane, Brooks Alexander's sister is getting to know her family. Adjusting to life in a new place. When Axel enters her life. Things take an interesting turn and she finds out he is not who she originally thought he was. I love this series. I cannot wait to get more. This story got me reading and I kept reading way into the night to finish it. I wanted that happy ending. Katie knows how to get you hooked into her books and keep you reading. I am hooked. :)

When Axel joined the FBI he believed that he was serving the greater good however his experience left him jaded and that is why he is now a contract killer. His only stipulation about his jobs is that he is serving the greater good so when he is asked to kidnap and deliver an innocent not only won’t he do it, but he needs to warn and protect her from others who wouldn’t think twice about doing it. Hadley is attending veterinary college and has recently reunited with her father and half-brother. Her new family has many enemies and unknown to her she is about to become collateral damage. When he thwarts an attempt to kidnap her he makes it is mission to protect her he finds out who is behind the attack and why. He is drawn to her from their first meeting but how will she react when she finds out who he really is and why he is there? Axel is far from a hired killed he is like a modern day Robin Hood who enforces his own code of justice and although Hadley is young she is wise and mature beyond her years. This story takes you on an adventure filled with suspense, twists and romance.

Axel is not a member of the Redemption Harbor group, but he still has all the skills to needed to keep Hadley safe. He's only supposed to watch from afar, but finds himself drawn to her and can't deny the attraction between them. Hadley was equally attracted to Axel and was determined not to let her brother and friends change her mind. Loved it from beginning to end.

4.25 “I think I fell a little in love with you when you spilled coffee on me.” Stars Book four in Katie Reus’ Redemption Harbor series is one of the strongest, and after finding the last offering a little steadier than its predecessors, Innocent Target sets things right back on track. “I kill people for a living.” What did come from book three was the introduction of Brooks’ sister, Hadley so for her to have her story told so quick was a treat. And having a huge protective extended family around her is about to prove an advantage as it becomes evident that someone wants her dead. “I…don’t want to be someone you regret.” Sometimes a H/h need to fall hard and fast and this was exactly one of those occasions as Axel realises that Hadley is the one contract he doesn’t want. And with a good dose of humour coming courtesy of her big brother playing his role perfectly as well as plenty of steamy moments as they get to know one another, Hadley and Axel quickly shaped up to be my favourite couple of the series so far. Looking forward to book five!

Alex is such a great character in this story. Instead of just warning Hadley and the crew of a contract on her and getting out, he is embroiled into the story with all of the characters we love in 'The Redemption Harbor' series. He becomes a bulldog when it comes to protecting Hadley, and as a killer himself, he has to prove to the others that he is there for her well-being. While protecting Hadley, things take a hot steamy turn for Alex and Hadley, bringing the story to a fast paced, sexy adventurous read that will lead to their HEA, and a place for Alex in Redemption Harbor. A standalone romantic suspense, I found it a great read. I would like to thank NetGalley and KR Press LLC for gifting me "Innocent Target". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4.5 Stars!

Wonderful; well worth the wait! Kept me engaged from the first page; loved the main characters and was neat to read about those from past books in the series. Was hard to put down; looking forward to the next installment, already pre-ordered it!!

Fast-paced, action-packed. Romantic suspense at its best! Book 4 in the Redemption Harbor series gives us Hadley (Brooks' younger half-sister) and Axel's story. Walking to her car in the campus parking lot, Hadley is assaulted by a masked man. Trying to fight him off enough to breathe, she suddenly realizes she's free and another man is fighting the masked man. Shocked, stunned, and utterly confused Hadley watches as her rescuer throws his quarry into the trunk and drives off. I love that Ms. Reus immediately draws us in with the action and suspense. She had me from page 1! Hadley is intrigued by Axel. Axel is supposed to keep his distance and just protect her from the people who want to do her harm, but Axel finds that Hadley is more than he expected and absolutely what he wants. Solving the mystery of who and why; working with Skye, Brooks and the Redemption Harbor crew, this installment brings new characters, unknown yet old enemies, and a sweet romantic HEA. This series has become one of my favorites and I anxiously look forward to the next book! Highly recommended.

This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Redemption Harbor series written by Katie Reus. She was a target. A contract that came across his desk by mistake. Axel was simply going to warn her that she was in danger and get out. Then he got a taste of her and fell hard. But they’re from two different worlds. Not only is she innocent, she’s out of his league. He should keep his distance, but he can’t. Not when someone wants her dead. Now he’s driven to protect her, to keep her safe. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Hadley has just connected with her father and her brother. It's made a tremendous change in her life. She hasn't really adjusted yet. How will she deal when she learns that a contract has been put out to kidnap her. Hadley has amazing depth. She had a difficult childhood with a competitive mother. She may seem sweet and timid, but she's able to stand up for herself. When she meets Axel, Hadley is attracted to him even though she knows nothing about him. I found that Axel is an intriguing character. He always fought for what was right. When he was betrayed he left the FBI. Now he works in the shadows to make sure justice is served. He came here to warn Hadley. However when he met her, he can't leave. I loved his commitment to protect her. He's dedicated to saving her even if can't make her his. I couldn't stop reading Innocent Target. Hadley and Axel's romance was filled with problems both from a madman and from her family. I wanted them to overcome everything and become a couple. I enjoy coming to Redemption Harbor. It's good to see familiar characters. I laughed when Skye named her rescue puppy after her favorite explosive. This is an exciting series. The action is nonstop. Katie Reus wrote an exciting story. The romance was passionate and the danger was intense. This book kept me on the edge of my seat.

The author takes us back to Redemption Harbor. The home of Redemption Harbor Consulting. A consulting company where the bond of friends is more like family and where family bonds are strengthening. Also where life and circumstances are not black and white , but variations of gray. As opposed to other stories by this talented author, this one is a little sweeter because even though Hadley, the main female character is a strong , independent gal, she is also younger and more innocent than the characters in previous stories. Axel, the male character, on the other hand, is older in years and experience. In his past life he was an FBI agent, but now is a killer for hire. When her contract comes across his desk, he makes it his duty to protect her. From the moment he meets her, the attraction between them is evident but circumstances make the relationship one that is complicated. The plot was not only engaging but also thought provoking. Where do we run the line between what’s right and wrong. What would you do when put in a situation in which you have to choose when the law fails to do the right thing? Once again, kudos to Ms Reus, for another book that has a great plot and complex characters you will come to love. Looking forward to the next book in this series. This was an ARC copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Oh wow what a fantastic story we get this time. In this one we are diving deep into one heck of a supsense ride and top on the romance and it just keeps you glued to the words. We met Hadley in a previous book. She is the newly found half sister of Brooks. So yes her daddy is a rich billionaire but this young woman was not raised with it and doesn't want it now. She is pretty down to earth and although she doesn't really know a lot of what her dad or brother or his friends do in life she knows it's something pretty big. So it's no shocker when she now becomes the hunted. Axel was not suppose to look at the photo and want the young woman who was in it. But things start to spiral and when he runs into her at a coffee shop things and then even more intense when he rescues her on the college campus... He shouldn't want her but he does... But will she want him when she knows more about him? Pickup your copy and find out. This is truly good reading.

Having read all three previous books of this series, I can attest each one is a standalone that ends with a HEA for a main couple you can’t help but root for, folks. Katie Reus also once again gives us a handsome, alpha protective, lethal weapon type hero who has a heart of gold beneath a mountain of muscle. Hadley, the sweet 22 year old veterinarian school student, may be the doe-eyed, innocent target here, but she sure shot a cupid’s arrow bullseye straight through the unsuspecting heart of Axel, the hero, who started falling for her before laying lips, hands, or even eyes on her. Yeah, this good guy assassin hasn’t lost his soul, despite his nefarious occupation, and still fights for goodness and justice. Unlike many other associates in his line of work, he won’t turn a blind eye just to fatten his paycheck. What he wasn’t expecting was to lose his heart so easily and quickly. Hadley ultimately had it just as bad for Axel, pretty much from first glance. So it is a very quick to love type of read. Honestly, there’s not a lot of reason to say much more, because the synopsis spells the storyline out really well. I breezed right through this one and enjoyed seeing familiar characters from previous books intermixed with the plot. Overall, this romantic tale seemed more direct and less complex than other books in this series. Other than wishing the leading lady was older, which is just a personal preference, I enjoyed this quick romantic read. Title: Innocent Target, Series: Redemption Harbor (Book 4), Author: Katie Reus, Pages: 250, standalone but part of series, younger/vet school student heroine, alpha protective assassin hero, some steamy scenes, some violence, romance safe, non-virgin main couple, very quickly fall in love. Rating: 3.5 stars Book 1 - Resurrection (Skye & Colt), Pages: 250, 7/11/17 Book 2 - Savage Rising (Olivia & Savage), Pages: 250, 9/26/17 Book 3 - Dangerous Witness (Darcy & Brooks), Pages: 300, 1/30/18 Book 4 - Innocent Target (Axel & Hadley), Pages: 250, 5/22/18 (I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book via NetGalley. Innocent Target, part of the Redemption Harbor Series by Katie Reus is a real change –up in the beginning. It certainly gives a freshen up to an already awesome series. This is not the typical protector or security detail story at all. I found it to be one of the best in the series. Hadley is the newly discovered sister to Brooks Alexander, a character who is in the series. However, if you have not read the entire series, you will have no problems jumping in with this one. The title says it all but do not mistake innocent for stupid; nothing could be farther from the truth. Axel has a much darker background but true to Katie Reus’ heroes, he is still a good guy. The choices he makes in this story clearly show this. The book is a well-written quick read as you are pulled into the story at the very beginning. I don’t usually find instant lust/ love to be my favorite type of romance between characters. However, Hadley knows her mind, maybe more so than the big strong dangerous Axel. That part I really liked. Characters from the previous books make an appearance which is great. Romantic suspense fans will find that this one fit the bill. There is danger to survive, suspenseful moments to piece together as well as bad guys to be stopped with love to be found along the way. An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
