Easy to understand and follow. Good companion for the new ipad as well as the old. Size of print and graphics a plus for "older eyes". I am confident that I can take full advantage of my ipad.

Are you thinking of buying an iPad? If you are, then this book is for you. Author Nancy Muir Nancy C. Muir, has written the eight edition of an outstanding book that is intended for individuals who may be relatively new to using a tablet device and want to discover the basics of buying an iPad, working with its preinstalled apps, and getting on the Internet. Author Muir, begins by showing you the different types of iPad models and their relative advantages; as well as, where to buy this magical device. The author also shows you how to turn on your iPad and register it; and then, take your first look at the Home screen. Then, she continues by discussing that if you want to find free or paid content for your iPad from Apple, from movies to e-books to audiobooks, you may want to open an iTunes acoount. The author then covers the iPad's handy accessibility features. Next, she shows you how to connect your iPad to the Internet, navigate among web pages, and use iCloud tabs to share your browsing among devices. In addition, the author looks at how to use Mail, which involves adding one or more existing email accounts by way of the iPad Settings. She also introduces you to FaceTime Twitter, and the Messages apps, and review their simple controls. Next, the author explains how to find content in the iTunes Store. In addition, she suggests some apps you may want to check out and explain how to use the iPad's App Store to find, purchase, and download apps. Then, the author continues by discussing the options available for reading material and how to buy books and subscribe to publications. She then gets you acquainted with the Music app and its features that allow you to sort and find music and control playback. Next, the author describes how the iPad is a natural for taking and viewing photos. In addition, she describes how to use the Videos app, which allows you to watch downloaded movies or TV shows; as well as, media that you've synced from the iCloud or your Mac or PC.
