About the Author

Richard B. Finnegan is Professor of Political Science and Director of Irish Studies at Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts. He is the co-author (with James L. Wiles) of Women and Public Policy in Ireland; A Guide to Irish Government Publications: 1972-1992; Aspirations and Realities: A Documentary History of Irish Economic Development Policy Since 1922; and Ireland: The Challenge of Conflict and Change . Edward T. McCarron is Associate Professor of History and Chair of the Department at Stonehill College. He is the author of several journal articles on Irish emigration and Irish-America.
