It's All Greek to Me by Katie MacAlister

This Greek god is about to meet his goddess…

When Eglantine “Harry” Knight sets off to Greece at the last minute to step in as manager of a friend’s touring band, the last thing she expects is to meet a billionaire Greek playboy. Iakovos Papaioannou is perfection on every level, except for his unpronounceable name. And Harry can’t stop herself from falling hard and fast for him.

Iakovos knew his sister hired her favorite band to perform at her birthday party, he’s just not sure where this six-foot-tall, wild-haired, tempestuous woman fits in, or how she’s already ended up in his bed—and in his heart. Harry is so not his type. She’s as infuriating as she is intriguing, and she can’t keep her hands off his butt. But she just may be the woman who knocks him off the world’s most eligible bachelor list for good…

Katie MacAlister has a winner in her newest book. Eglantine (Harry) Knight is filling in for a friend and managing a singing group playing at a birthday party on a small Greek island. The party is being held for the sister of hunky billionaire Iakovos Papaioannou. When the two meet, sparks fly and they embark on a spicy affair. The relationship starts early and heats up fast in this book, and I wondered how Ms. MacAlister would sustain the reader¿s interest. It wasn¿t a problem, I couldn¿t stop reading. In the middle of the book, it seemed as though the story was going to use an old romance novel plot but it was tweaked enough to keep the story going. I really enjoyed Harry¿s inability to remember ¿Yacky¿s¿ real names. All through the book she comes up with some really ingenious versions. Although there is some conflict in the book, it is handled maturely with none of the annoying misunderstandings that drive the couple apart and really frustrate the reader. The secondary characters are fleshed out enough to drive the story and create interest. I hope a future book will focus on Theo, the troublemaking younger brother in the family. All in all, an enjoyable book that is a departure from the usual paranormal books that Ms. MacAlister writes. (I am a big fan of her Dragon series). It would be great if this is the first in a trilogy about the Papaioannou siblings.

Katie takes a break from her normal routine with this refreshing novel about love and misunderstanding. The characters offer enough depth the make you want them to succeed without the unnecessary angst found in so many novels today. This unlikely duo works! Fun light read

O.M.G. If you have not read It's All Greek To Me, then you must! Katie MacAlister hits a home run with this book! From the very first chapter Harry and Yacky are a dynamic duo that the reader cannot help but fall in love with! Katie's sense of humor is brilliant and she will keep you laughing throughout the entire book! And once you've read the last page, you will want to start all over again! Katie leaves us all begging for a sequel. (PLEASE KATIE!!!) *Also, Katie's other contemporaries are laugh out loud funny*

After having read more romance novels than I'd ever admit to out loud, I've become quite used to their formula of man and woman meet, are attracted, conflict arises, they fight the attraction, give in to the attraction, overcome the conflict, and live happily ever after. This story lacks a prevailing conflict. The happily ever after happens quite quickly, and though there are speed bumps, they are easily overcome with trust and love. While that is a refreshing change in a very well-trodden genre, in this case there was a bit of lack of substance. Despite this, the story is fluid and the dialogue is some of MacAlister's best. The book's greatest strength is that almost all of the characters are very well developed. The main characters' intimate in-jokes are sweet and funny, and when the hero finally declared his feelings, I laughed so hard I had to stop reading to recover! I've read and enjoyed all of the Dark Ones novels and as much as I loved all of their characters, Harry and "Yacky" are among my favorites she ever created. Definitely worth a read, and one I'm keeping.

I have been a fan of Katie's for a long time- and kbowing her as a paranormal author, I now can't wait for more of her comtemporary titles. As usual, you are swept up in the lives of her characters from the first paragraph. Instead of having Jake and Harry fall in love over the booj, they both fall very hard at the begining and you get the joy of seeing it grow over time. You can't go wrong with @katiemacalister as you will always feel for her characters long after the story is read and root for more.

This has to be one of the funniest romance books I've ever read. Katie MacAlister kept me laughing right up to the end. As with all romance books you must suspend your sense of reality and go with the flow. Eglantine Knight has an unprouncable name so she's called Harry. I would too. She's come to a lovely Greek island to help out a friend, his band's been hired to work a birthday party. Turns out she's a famous author and can manage her own time. Lucky, right? Harry meets our hero when the bands lead singer accuses the heros brother of assualt. Timely, huh? Turns out it wasn't true but Harry has gone wacko for our lead guy. Lots of kissing from the start. Iakovos Papaioannou is floored by the whirlwind that's just blown into his life. He's a gorgeous billionaire real estate developer who own his own island. I love him already. Harry is the most forward woman he's ever met and to his suprise he likes it. Harry can't pronounce his name, lots of that going around, so she calls him Yacky. She murders his last name throughout the story, my favorite is Papamiaowmiaow. It irritates Yacky so she keeps it up. The story takes us through false accusations, alcholism, attraction, lust, love, marriage, jealousy, and babies. It's a lot to take in and keeps the story rolling along. There's a happy ending, why wouldn't there be? Happy reading.

Another funny Katie Macallister book! The couple gets together quickly, but that's pretty common for Katie's contemporary books. The humor is fantastic. One of my biggest pet peeves is when the hero or heroine misinterprets something simple and jumps to horrible conclusions. In this book, it's refreshing to see two mature peole having a rational, albeit extremely funny, conversation to work out their problems.

I really enjoyed this book! And absolutly loved that Harry was a "real" size, "real" looks, "real" smart lady! Because really let's face it, i can't be the ONLY brown haired tall a little plump lady that's tired of reading about, 5'2-4", blonde/red haired, green eyed, size 4's! Nice change!
