A beautiful lady, a hunk of a man and an orphan baby! Jared made a promise to care for his friend’s baby. Teacher Jenny takes a babysitting job in New Orleans for the summer. Both protagonists are wonderful! This is a very heartwarming story that shows the power of parents’ words! Be careful what you say! I enjoyed Jared’s Promise and recommend it to others. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Barbara McMahon is quickly becoming becoming one of my favorite 1-click authors and she didn’t disappoint with Jared’s Promise. I loved this heartwarming story centered around orphaned Jamie. Jared brings Jamie back from U.A.E. after her father is killed in an accident and then her mother dies. Jenny is hired as the nanny to take care of her, while Jared recuperates from the injuries he received in the accident. They are instantly attracted to each other, but Jenny is just getting over a failed relationship and won’t settle for anything but love. Will these two figure out they’re perfect for one another or will Jared let his failed marriage and his dad’s ramblings ruin things? No spoilers so grab your copy and fall in love with this wonderful read.

Jared’s Promise by Barbara McMahon. This is Jared Montgomery and Jenny Stratford’s story. Jared and Jenny’s characters are dealing with some really tough emotional issues and situations. Jenny has been hired to care for Jared’s friend’s orphaned baby. There is definitely an attraction between the two. Jenny wants love, romance, and a family but Jared never wants to marry again. Will these two break down their barriers and take a chance on love? I loved Jared and Jenny’s characters but there were timed I wanted to knock some sense into Jared. Jared’s neighborhood, Mrs. Giraux was a great addition to the story. The ending pulled everything together. This story bought to my attention how important it is that we watch what we say. We may get into the habit of complaining about something and really don’t mean it the way it comes across. We don’t realize the effect that could have on others. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

JARED’S. PROMISE By Barbara McMahon Jared barely escaped death ten days ago, thinking these steps to his apartment would kill him. His sister hired someone to watch the baby. A friend who was in bind, now dead, as girlfriend was, that’s how his name ended up on the birth certificate, so his wife and family in states wouldn’t know. Jenny needed a job for the summer, and New Orleans sounded perfect. She came from an orphanage, and wanted to make a home for the baby. He was meeting his lawyer, to find a home as soon as possible for the baby. Could he do this for his best friend, and what about Jenny. The smiles from the baby and Jenny were melting his heart. Choices, for the three were to be made, making this a delightful story, as Barbara’s always are. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Whenever I pick up a book by this talented author, I know I will fall in love with it. This one was no exception. The plot centers around Jared Montgomery, bachelor geologist working in the Middle East and loving his carefree life. When an explosion leaves him injured , his best friend dead and a baby entrusted to him to take back to the USA , he feels overwhelmed and hires a nanny until he can recover, “deal” with the baby, and return to the Middle East. Jenny Stratford , an elementary teacher, is hired by his sister to be the nanny. She needs to get away from her hometown and spending the Summer in New Orleans taking care of the baby, is ideal. By life is full of surprises, one being the attraction between the two of them. But they each have different goals in life . As good as the plot was , even though at times I wanted to give them each a piece of my mind :), the story was a reminder that sometimes what thought we always wanted, might not be want we want today. That the experiences of our childhood, do in fact affect how we act and see things as adults. That happiness and love can be found when you least expected, and that finding the right person, does in fact make life one filled with support, joy, and love. Another winner for this talented author. I was given this ARC copy. The opinions expressed, are solely my own.
