About the Author
Sylvia M. Ford is an educational consultant who works nationally and internationally with a focus on balanced literacy, is a former classroom teacher with more than 30 years of experience in grades K-5. She worked as a language arts specialist for a K-12 school district. Sylvia is coauthor with Cheryl Sigmon on lessons and strategies for teaching writing to specific grades and in the content areas. She lives in West Columbia, South Carolina, with her husband Don.
