Know Me Well by Kait Nolan

A grown-up Boy Scout

Liam Montgomery is the last person who'd call himself a hero, but he does have a tendency to try to save the world. Now that he's left the Marine Corps and returned to Wishful, he feels out of place and unsure of what comes next. He does know one thing: The girl who used to look up to him like a brother is all grown up. No way he can see her as a little sister now. And she won't give him the time of day.

Queen of Doing All The Things

Riley Gower isn't holding out for a hero. In fact, a knight in shining armor is the last thing she wants. She's been watching her mother chase that fairy tale for most of her life, with Riley the one left to pick up the pieces of unhappily ever after. Running Wishful's downtown pharmacy is a dream Riley's worked toward for years. Now that the business is finally hers, the realities of the current economy have made it seem like the dream is slipping through her fingers. So when her mother calls, expecting yet another rescue, Riley feels like she's spread thinner than the last pat of butter at Sunday dinner.

The impossible mission he can't resist

It's hard enough for a woman like Riley to admit she could use a hand, but mix in the embarrassment of a childhood crush and the devastating attraction sizzling between them? No way. Liam is determined to help, but taking down insurgents is less complicated than infiltrating Riley's defenses. This will require reinforcements. And a plan.

WOW!!! Oh my word!!! This author is brilliant and this story is outstandong!!! I love to read! I read constantly, so when I ended up on bedrest for 18 months I read. I am a voracious reader so I was finishing books faster than family and friends were able to supply. My husband offered me the use of his Nook and suddenly there was a book always within my reach. In the past year I have read at least one book every other day. Some days I would read six books, especially on those days when I read the 145 paged stories laying in bed. I hate the cliffhanger books where the author just ends in the midst of the story... Despicable!! "Shattered Dreams" was the first one and I sulked for hours!!! This is not a cliffhanger. In fact, the story is completed with finess and panache. If you have read Macomber, you know about her style of writing books that intertwine. Each books is one story with continued storylines of other characters spicing it up. J.K. Rowlings "Potter" series is an extended version of interlocking storylines in a series of books. This author is one I will look for at bookstores and libraries when I am released from bedrest!!! Please do not hesitate to select this book. It is a delicious story of a strong women who was too strong to ever need anyone else. Impossible to relate to someone who has a impenetrable wall full of prickly defenses. She won't be.a clinging vine mess like her mom. She won't. To be so hard means that NO ONE is allowed past her walls.... and yet her high school hero snuck through like a hot knife through butter. The way he sneaks through scares her and undermines the way she survived her mother's neediness! The end was... is perfection. Great story!

The only problem I have with this Author's books are that they are very hard to put down. This was no exception!

Since this is book 3 or 4, I never quite got all the other character/couples straight. Very good story line and quite refreshing to have characters really understand each other instead of misunderstanding and causing extra conflict.

This was a really sweet story but there were some steamy scenes and swearing. The use of the f word seemed unnecessary.

Great story, well developed plot line for a relatively short, just over 200-page book. Love the characters, thoroughly enjoyed!

Great characters & plot, however, I kept losing interest because of so much repetition. I honestly don't know if I want to read any more of this series.
