Ringelnatz (eigentlich Hans Bötticher) wurde in Wurzen (Sachsen) geboren und starb in Berlin. Er arbeitete als Schiffsjunge, Matrose und Dichter. Kuttel Daddeldu ist ein Seebär der die Welt bereist. In den Gedichten werden die schlüpfrigen, auch grotesken, Erlebnisse des Weltenbummlers erzählt - aber nicht nur das: Kuttel Daddeldu betrachtet die Welt auch auf seine sehr eigene tiefsinnige Art und Weise.
