Comfort within discontentment. Not enough tissues for the hiccup-cries First. Be sure to read the letter from the Author before reading, to ensure that this book is for you. Although, in my opinion, it is for Everyone. This book is unlike any book that I have ever come across! and, I believe, one of the most relatable books for everyone!! It is hope. It is further proof that the gray skies are often temporary and there is sunshine right around the bend. Loved this book, what a message!! This book is recommended to Everyone and I will definitely be reading more from Ms. Perez.

This book is raw, and quite different than anything I've read before. It's real and in your face, without the typical story line many readers have become accustomed to having. It deals with issues that are difficult for many to discuss. Depression affects so many individuals, and I'm happy that Kathryn has tackled this subject. Where the story lacked was in its length. It's VERY short, ending at 60% before going to real life letters submitted to, and included by the author. I felt it difficult to fully connect with the characters because the story was so condensed. I wanted more of Riah, more about why she was the way she was, more of her daily struggle, more about her relationship with her husband & kids, more of her thoughts. The author should consider this a compliment, because she penned such a poignant story, I was truly disappointed I didn't have those details I longed for. Hours after finishing the story, I still have a knot in my stomach. I will recommend this book to others because awareness needs to be raised about the horrors of untreated, undiagnosed, and/or uncontrolled depression. Thanks for writing this story, Kathryn.

Letters written in White is that story everyone wants to hear, but is too afraid to tell. This isn't your typical romance. It's heart-wrenching and beautiful at the same time. There are parts that are tough to read, but the journey through Riah's (check spelling) death gives you perspective. A perspective that lets you see through the eyes of someone you only hear about in statistics. Kathryn wrote this story so well, it's her best yet. Well done lady! 6 stars from me!
