It was 1946, in Shkodra Albania when Friar Zef Pllumi was arrested, brutally tortured, imprisoned, and sent to labor camps. Through deeply personal descriptions of shocking atrocities, Fr. Pllumi focuses in his memoir on his extraordinary will to survive, his powerful faith and love for his country. His intense desire to "Live to Tell" honors those men martyred for their beliefs in religion. Fr. Pllumi was initially released in 1949 and his story continues in two subsequent volumes.
