Overview

Loch by Harper Bentley

Loch Powers was the hottest guy I'd ever seen in my entire life.

And I hated him with every fiber of my being.

I'd practically known him since birth. Heck, we'd literally shared a crib as babies at his mom's daycare.

Then I'd crushed on him hard when we hit middle school but he wouldn't give geeky, glasses-wearing me the time of day. When his mom made him take me to the sixth grade dance, he'd humiliated me and I vowed to never talk to him again.

The next year when my family moved away, I told myself that if I never saw him again it'd be too soon.

Now I'm back and attending the same college, but I'm no longer the skinny, ugly girl who was so infatuated with him. And I'm so over him it's not even funny.

But now that I'm no longer the ugly duckling, he's set his sights on me, and I'm just not sure what to do with that.

This book was just awful. The reviewers who said it was good must be relatives of the author. I honestly can think of no other reason it would get a good review. Loch was a jerk and a bully to Simone when they were in 6th grade to the point that she moved away and was "withdrawn" for a few years. (We find out later that he really always loved her.) She meets up with him in college. It looks like he might recognize her at first but doesn't. But his brother does. If Simone is the love of his life, don't you think he would remember her? Simone decides she's going to lead him on then dump him for revenge but she's just too darn nice to acrually go through with it. He finds out who she really is and she spends the rest of the book kissing his butt. She tried to fool him for a week; he ruined her life for years. Who should be kissing whose butt? My favorite part was how Loch talked. Since he's such a manly man , he says stuff like "gotta tell you babe" or "want you in my bed". I hate it when authors think its manly for men to use incomplete sentences. How about "I gotta tell you babe" or "I want you in my bed". Leaving out the I does not make him manlier. This book was so cheesy and cringe worthy. Do NOT waste your 99 cents. First and last book by this author!

Loved, loved, loved the 1st two in this series, but this one, while Simone & Marcy were strong characters, he was pretty one dimensional & there wasn't that emotional roller coaster feeling with this story. Still going to get Ryker, just hope it's better.

Great follow up to Zeke. Can't wait to find out who Ryker "falls" for.

This installment just wasn't enough for me. There was no development of the characters. Simone was an emotional basket case & Loch was an underdeveloped character who I didn't connect with. I actually didn't connect with either character. I was more interested in Ryker than the main characters. The BEST part of this book- to me - was the epilogue. JLR
