Where family bonds are made and broken, and where young love sparks as old flames grow dim, Ransom Canyon is ready to welcome—and shelter—those who need it

With a career and a relationship in ruins, Jubilee Hamilton is left reeling from a fast fall to the bottom. The run-down Texas farm she's inherited is a far cry from the second chance she hoped for, but it and the abrasive foreman she's forced to hire are all she's got.

Every time Charley Collins has let a woman get close, he's been burned. So Lone Heart ranch and the contrary woman who owns it are merely a means to an end, until Jubilee tempts him to take another risk—to stop resisting the attraction drawing them together despite all his hard-learned logic.

Desperation is all young Thatcher Jones knows. And when he finds himself mixed up in a murder investigation, his only protection is the shelter of a man and woman who—just like him—need someone to trust.

What a fantastic story! I cannot wait to go back and read stories 1 & 2. Jubilee, a failed campaign manager, moves into the Texas ranch she inherits and decides to make a go of it. She hires Charley as a foreman. This story is of second chances, the heart's unending capacity for love, love of the land and a little mystery will definitely draw you in.

Another lovely installment to the Ransom Canyon series. The story is told, like always in the series, by multiple points of view, with one couple, Charley and Jubilee in the front and center. The story between Jubilee and Charley is a tale of survival, making your own destiny, finding your happiness at the moments you are in, and learning to love again, after life has kicked you to the curve too many times. Jubilee doesn't even believe she has a heart, so many times she has been left behind, and those bitter words have been thrown on her face. But they find a tune together, even though so opposite of each other, in personality, they learn to work together, share their dreams, goals, and future hopes, and somehow, manage to build a new family, a family of a heart, and a pack that sticks together no matter what they face. I absolutely adore them together, and their story is touching, tender, and delicate, yet it has moments of pure passion and more strength, than most ever have. Since the beginning of the series, Lauren, Lucas and Tim, as well as the sheriff, have part of the story, and one of the major draws to come back for more, has been following their life. I always wished for another kind of second chance for Lauren and her first love, but I guess it wasn't written in the stars, as I hoped. The danger and life and death moments, that Tim, the sheriff and Thatcher bring to the tale, give extra spice to the story, and excitement, that nicely moved the story along. The Ransom Canyon tales always pull me into that world, and it takes a while after I finish a book, to 'come back' again. The lovely small town, the lively characters, and their destinies, just take over and fill your mind. The stories are well written, with a natural flow in them, and after a wile, you feel like you are part of the town, visiting old friends, and getting to know few new ones. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

This was a heartfelt tale full of hope & second chances. I loved how Thomas drew me into her world, creating a connection with both the land and the characters. The intricate manner in which she told her tale allowed me to see everything in a much bigger picture. At the same time, the focus remained on the characters at hand. The gradual progression of the tale really gave a sense of realism and of the everyday to it. The characters that Thomas created fit very well with the tale. I enjoyed how everyone filled their role without remaining restricted to it. The multidimensional development of both the main and secondary characters was fantastic. This was a great addition to Thomas’ series. I enjoyed every moment together and how it came together as a seamless whole. I’d recommend it to those who enjoy small town romance done right. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I am so greedy I can hardly wait till the next 'installment' comes out in August. Thank you JT for many pleasurable hours of reading.

(Review via Epic Book Quest http://epicbookquest.com) Jubilee Hamilton’s life is in a tailspin. She’s lost her career. Her boyfriend. And her grandpa Levy -the one member of her family who ever really cared about her- passed away, leaving her with a run-down ranch in the middle of nowhere. Hiring a foreman and running the Lone Heart Ranch seems like the craziest idea she’s ever had, but at this point, its all she has left. The only question is, can this DC city girl make it work, or is she destined for another failure- and another broken heart? After his life is turned upside down by failed romance, the only woman Charlie wants in his life is his little girl, Lillie. As a single dad, he scrapes to get by, working multiple jobs just to make ends meet. So when he accepts a job as foreman from Jubilee Hamilton, he swears it’s just so he can save up enough money to make a better life for him and his daughter. But when a troubled young teen involved in a murder investigation shows up, everything changes as they struggle to protect their makeshift family and the run-down ranch they’ve come to call home. Another winner from author Jodi Thomas! True to her previous works, Lone Heart Pass is one of those books that are all too easy to lose yourself in. Beautiful descriptions of the rugged Texas wilderness permeate each page as Thomas weaves together the lives of three people, so different from one another, to create one unforgettable story of loss and redemption. Readers of the previous books in the Ransom Canyon series will be happy to continue the story of Lauren Brigman and Tim O’Grady, as well as meeting some new faces that will feel like old friends by the time you turn the last page. A perfect blend of romance, mystery, and suspense. Highly recommended! Rating: 4 stars I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Author Jodi Thomas has a knack for creating characters you wish you could know in real life. In her latest release, LONE HEART PASS, Thomas brings together two characters that have been hurt deeply, made some life mistakes, and have isolated themselves. Her secondary characters have their own share of troubles readers can also relate to. Jubilee Hamilton’s life has hit rock bottom – her career is a bust, she has aliened herself from relationships and her family thinks she needs a goal in her life. Returning to a run-down Texas ranch she inherited from her great-grandfather, Jubilee sees it as her last chance to make a go of her life. Charley Collins loves the land and only wanted to continue running his family’s ranch, but those dreams went up in smoke after some bad choices he made. Charley is determined to finally make the right choices and his young daughter is going to be the only female in his life from now on. Older than his years, young Thatcher Jones has always more or less looked out for himself. Without knowing it, Thatcher is searching for someone to care about him while he pretends he doesn’t care. When life’s circumstances bring these individuals together, their worlds are turned upside down. They soon learn there are others searching for someone to trust. Can they learn to trust one another, while trying to save the ranch and their lives as desperate criminals wait nearby. The author’s characters are realistic, likable and well-developed. The bonds of friendship and concern that grows between the various characters adds depth to the story. The mix of emotions experienced by each character and how they interact enhances the tale. The slow, budding romance draws you in as the suspense surrounding the mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat. The setting comes alive on the page through the author’s rich descriptions and eye for details. Thomas blends a bit of the old west with a modern life for a well-balanced western. LONE HEART PASS is an enthralling mix of romance, mystery and self-discovery. It’s the third installment in the series, but can be read on its own. Filled with well-crafted characters, a touch of romance, mystery, and friendship, this is a book you won’t be able to put down until you turn the final page. FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this book was sent to me as part of the author’s blog tour in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

This is one book I could not put down. Every part kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I was so wanting to know that the two that I could see were so much in love, would come to realize they knew how very much they were in love. Great story !!
