Lost Love (Cowboys and Angels, #1) by Kelly Elliott

Moving back home to my parents’ cattle ranch in Texas was the last thing I thought I’d be doing.

But, here I stand … in front of my high school girlfriend. A beautiful, confident woman has replaced the young girl I once knew and loved. Hell. I’m still in love with her.

Yep. Paxton Monroe was my first love and the one girl in town who now hated my guts. So much so, Paxton swore her revenge on me if it took her until the day she died.  The last words she spoke to me were a vow to cut my dick off and shove it down my throat.

The fight between my heart, my head, and last, but certainly not least, my dick starts tonight. Because all I can think about is how I want to be buried so deep inside Paxton she won’t remember how I broke her heart, or how I left her when she needed me the most.

But who will win? My heart is too broken to listen to my head. And my dick, yeah it’s not listening to anything or anyone. Not until it gets what it wants and what it wants is Paxton Monroe.

Lost Love is book one in the Cowboys and Angels Series.

A heartwarming love story with the right amount of sexy hotness and sweet romance. Steed and Paxton are a great introduction to this new series and I'm looking forward to Amelia's next, but I cant wait for Mitchell and Cords.

Lost Love By: Kelly Elliott ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Review by Kristie K Kelly Elliott delivers a beautiful, sweet, sensual, and heartbreaking second chance romance that will make your heart smile… Lost Love is the first installment of a new series by Kelly Elliott, Cowboys & Angels. A second chance romance that follows high school sweethearts that had found their forever love…but unforeseen circumstances and harsh words tore them apart when they needed each other most. After ten years, and a lifetime of pain and regret, they have their second chance. The question is whether or not they will take it. Steed Parker…dayum. I don’t honestly know what else to say about the man. He is absolutely perfect. From his gorgeous bod, to his warm heart, and his incredible soul…the man is truly dreamy. Yeah, he made some bad choices back in the day, but he has more than paid the price for those mistakes. When he comes back home to his family, the real fight of his life begins. He is determined to win back the heart of the girl he left behind, and will stop at nothing to make it happen. Paxton Monroe is the epitome of a wholesome, beautiful, small town girl. She is sweet as candy, kind, gorgeous, and has a heart the size of Texas. Completely devastated when Steed left her, she never truly got over the betrayal. When he comes back into town with a secret, and a determination to make things right, Paxton is torn between her heart and her head. These characters were SOOOOOO incredible. Oh the feels they made me feel! They were so genuine and real, with depth and an authenticity that shone through. Even the supporting characters had something special, and made me want to be a part of their world. Ms. Elliott was able to build a family, a town, and a world that was truly captivating. It was a slow build, a wonderful anticipation, and a deep longing. The plot and storyline were breathtaking, heartbreaking, and wonderful. There were small twists, little turns, and off shoots of the original storyline that kept you wondering. My one regret is that most of these side stories never went anywhere or received a resolution. The cover of this book is all kinds of hot, and the blurb gives you a small taste of what you will get inside. I am sooooo looking forward to the next installment, to see what the Parker family has in store next. Kristie K

Kelly Elliott amazes me every single time. Just when I think she has written the best book ever...she comes out with another that is even better. Her mind is seriously genius! Paxton and Steed are absolutely incredible! They are two of the most deepest, relatable, real characters I've ever read about. I couldn't put this book down. Their story had me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I love second chance love stories, and this one was fantastic!

“The way he stared into my soul had me feeling unsteady. My heart was telling me to run to him, but my head was guarding my heart.” “Fight for her, Steed. Show her that you made a mistake and that you’ll do whatever it takes to make it up to her.” “He let out a contented breath. As if that simple kiss and me in his arms solved all of his problems.” Cowboys, sweet romance and an unforgettable second chance at love-those are the words that come to mind when I think of Lost Love. Lost Love is the first book in an exciting and new series from author Kelly Elliott. Told from dual points of view, Lost Love follows the story of Paxton and Steed. Once upon a time, Paxton and Steed were on top of their little world. Their whole life was laid out the way they always dreamed. Everything was just as it should be, until one day Paxton came to Steed with some news. And when Paxton needed Steed the most, he vanished from her life. Now, 10 years later, Steed has returned home. His life has changed and in many ways for the better, but there is one thing that his heart wants and aches for: Paxton. He knows he messed up and will do anything to win back her heart… Lost Love is a beautifully written second chance romance. From the moment you meet Paxton and Steed you just know that there is something incredible there. But, Steed messed up and will be in for the fight of his life to get back the love of Paxton. There is not a single day that goes by that Steed doesn’t regret the decisions that he made. He is ashamed of how he treated Paxton and at times, the guilt feels like it is slowly killing him. And poor Paxton. She never forgot the man that broke her heart and haunts her dreams. She wishes more than anything that she could just move on. And the one thing she never planned on was having Steed return home. The moment Steed returns home, all bets are off. The love and connection these two share is way to intense to be passed up. Steed and Paxton have done a lot of growing in their ten years apart, but still have a lot of things to work through. But, if there love is as strong and as true as it once was, they will be able to handle anything that life throws at you. Lost Love is a wonderful start to the Cowboys and Angels series. It is incredibly well written and a wonderful book to spend the day getting lost in and swooning over. Paxton and Steed’s story hit all the marks and had me rooting for their second chance at love. Such an enjoyable read. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book and see where this series is going to take me next.

3.5 STARS After his failed marriage Steed returns home to his parents' ranch in Texas. He hated not being able to go home to see his family because of his money-grubbing now ex-wife. When he left ten years ago he left unfinished business behind. The only woman he ever loved. The woman he never forgot. Paxton loves her job as a kindergarten teacher. When she comes face to face with the love of her life and his daughter she is overwhelmed with contradictory feelings. There is joy of seeing Steed again but also grief and a huge amount of righteous anger. And there is still the lingering threat of her cutting off his men parts. There are things that are unforgivable. I would have thought that the reason for Paxton's anger would be among them but from the first moment you could feel Steed's honest regret for what his younger self did rolling off of him. He wasn't very smart in the decision-making department when he was barely out of school and that is the only reason I can forgive him what he did. He was a young scared boy facing a future he never pictured. He did try to make up for his kneejerk decision but it was too late then. The betrayal and hurt Paxton feels when Steed walks back into her life are excruciating. His past ten years without her make it all the harder to forgive him and for a while they go in circles and Paxton learns more about herself and her own mistakes in the time following her tragedy while she finds a way to lay the past to rest. I thought that was very well executed. Paxton didn't give in right away and needed time to heal and Steed did a lot of grovelling and really earned her forgiveness. Once they move past their issues the angst pretty much stops, the story becomes a lot more light-hearted and it gets a little too mushy and sweet for my taste. It doesn't really feel natural anymore to get so many "I love yous" and tearing up because, you know, happy, within a couple of pages and all the overly sweet stuff starts to feel a bit like fillers. A couple of words about the characters. Steed is a cowboy and he has the alpha character and filthy mouth to go with it. He really knows how to woo a woman. He is tenacious in his pursuit of Paxton, he really wants to make it up to everyone who got caught in the drama. I liked Paxton and her spirit and her ability to see her own mistakes. While this was a leeettle bit too sweet for me and I expected more angst I still loved the whole cast, setting and storyline of this book and I will definitely continue reading this series. The family consists of 7 siblings so I think we are in for quite a ride. Especially because those cowboys are all man-hos who will be fun to watch when they are brought down to their knees by a female. Lost Love is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. This book deals with some serious issues which might be a trigger for some readers.
