It had been a year ago that 19-year-old Lindsey Dennison's life had taken an abrupt turn. While away at Cornell for her freshman year at college, her parents' marriage had imploded. Lindsey learned the harsh truth about her father, and his involvement in criminal activity that was the focus of a major federal bust. Her father had slipped out of the country with his lover and cohort in crime, Susanne, shortly before the FBI arrest warrants could be served. He was now a fugitive from justice, deserting his only child. Lindsey was left trying to pick up the pieces of the life she now realized had been a house of secrets and lies for all of those years.

After her mother's marriage to Eric Slater, one of the special agents of the FBI involved in the federal investigation that occurred in their hometown of Indianapolis, Lindsey decides to start fresh at a new college close to where her mother, step-father and baby brother Bryce are now living outside of Washington, D.C.

Life is different now for Lindsey, but it is about to change even more. Her step-father's partner and best friend in the bureau, Trace "Taz" Matthews, is about to rock her world in more ways than one. Taz is nearly ten years older than Lindsey, but her initial interest in him is physical only. Lindsey has a problem that she is certain Taz can fix . . . but will he?

Despite their best efforts, Lindsey and Taz are tossed together by fate on more than one occasion, and this G-Man does not appreciate the distraction. There are complications for Sammie and Slate along the way as well. A risky pregnancy for Sammie requires the family to pull together and Lindsey's life suddenly becomes increasingly complicated.

There is a budding romance on the horizon for Lindsey with a wealthy, Ivy-League type guy she meets at school by the name of Kyzer Stanfield. Kyzer's interest in Lindsey does not sit well for Taz. When Lindsey must leave school to return home to help her mother, Taz is relieved that she will be distanced from the pursuit of Kyzer. . . but not for long.

Things are never quite as they seem. Lindsey will learn a brutal lesson about trust, compassion and strength. Taz will learn lessons about love, intimacy and honor, and that sometimes doing the right thing has consequences.

Love Plus One is the follow up book to Diamond Girl, it can be read entirely as a stand alone book.  Andrea Smith takes you on quite a journey in Love Plus One, it is a roller coast of adventure, emotion, mystery and sensuality. Lindsey has had a pretty tough couple of years and the ones she is going through now aren't exactly a cake walk either. Taz is very dedicated to his goals get his doctorate and continue to move up in the FBI he is rather blindsided by his emotions for Lindsey. It is important to note that this book does contain a rape scene, not a let's have a rape fantasy, not a dubious consent scene a vicious, brutal rape scene, if this is something that is an emotional trigger for you you may want to be aware of that. It is done as part of the story not as anything titillating.  The action moves pretty fast however we are still treated to characters that are well written and have emotional depth. The love and the sex as well as sexual tension is throughout the book and Ms. Smith also manages to give us a few laughs as well. Both Lindsey and Taz grow and learn together over the course of the book and the secondary characters are fun as well.  I am going to be sure to go back and read the first book Diamond Girl and I hope that the story will continue soon as there are things left unanswered still.  I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

I am totally in love with these characters and with this author. I can't wait to read whatever else Andrea has out there. This is the story about Lindsey and Taz...and it actually starts almost exactly where Diamond Girl ended. Each could easily be read as a stand alone, but why wouldn't you read both? I really felt bad for Lindsey for the first portion of this book. I mean, seriously, what's a girl gotta do to get laid? LOL! OK, so there's a decent age gap, his best friend just married her mom, she puked in his truck and he made her feel bad about her inexperience in some areas in the bedroom. She's telling him she wants no strings and he (mr. player) is saying no. I LOVED IT!!! He does eventually give in. I mean, he's only got so much will power. This story was original with all kinds of surprises along the way. I was shocked and actually had tears threaten to form a couple times. (That's really saying a lot because I think I've only cried while reading 3 books.) So what else is there besides sex you ask? Several references to my favorite show - Criminal Minds (Taz even calls Lindsey "baby girl"), a semi-stalker, a couple of phychos, a kidnapping, a couple of druggings, a drug bust, a few babies being born, a little brutality, hospital stays and a whole lot of love and tenderness. I'm so disappointed that I waited so long to read these books. If you haven't read this series, pick it up and enjoy!

Where to start? This book was AMAZING, I must say I think I love this book and Taz a tiny bit more than Diamond Girl and Slate. Taz was such a sweetheart and his character was new and refreshing and no so cookie cutter like all other book boyfriends out there( Weird, but I loved that he wasn't circumsised!) . I loved Lindsey! I loved her character and you could tell she was a lot like Sammie and also not like her. I enjoyed how her and Taz took the time to actually have a real relationship and it grew, I really enjoyed that. Not just wham and bam.  Slate, oh Slate, how I'm happy Slate and Sammie were in this one a lot and Slate's comment about the Coyote howl, I laughed for probably 10 minutes straight! This book had it's ups and downs and it was riot! Lindsey doesn't take no crap and I loved it! She stands up for herself, loved every second of it! I knew something wasn't right with that sleezeball Kyzer! Ugh, I wish Taz would of put a bullet in him for what he did! I also was hoping we would find something out about Lindsey's dad, I assume he is dead, but still. Would like to know. I loved how taz was always there for Linds, especially after what she went through. He is a truly wonderful man and now one of my top favorite book boyfriends! I love how Andrea wraps up the books in one big book, it didn't feel dragged on or like the story should go on. It was wrapped up beautifully and this series is one of my favorite! I truly loved this entire book, every second of the ride. Must read amazing series and book <3 Oh, may I add, I think this series needs to be made into a movie! Slates story, then Taz's. they would be an amazing movie!!

Lindsey Dennison has had a rough year...finding out her parents marriage was ending, her mom becoming a pole dancer, her father running from the FBI with his lover Susanne, her mother re-marrying one of the FBI agents on her father's case and her mother having a son, Bryce. WHEW! Lindsey decides to transfer to be closer to her mother, step-father, and new baby brother in Washington D.C. She meets Slate's partner Trace "Taz" Matthews and has an instant crush on him. But he is 10 years older than her and refuses to do anything to upset his partner and friend. Enter Kyzer, a friend from College, he seems to like Lindsey and she is looking for some fun. Enter Chaos Andrea has done it again. Taz and Lindsey are an amazing couple that go through hell and back. This is an emotional roller coaster and physical heart wrenching story. There is a brutal rape scene so if you don't like that or can't stomach it then please beware because it isn't pretty and I could barely handle it myself! The action is fast paced and keeps you moving right along but it doesn't distract you from the characters. Again amazing job!

Loved this series. I read book one and had to follow up with this one. I have to say, it was even better and the plot twists had me going. Warning, there is a brief rape scene towards the end of the book. I just had to skim quickly over it. Not my thing, but I got why the author had to include it. Otherwise, this was a good, fast read. I'm ready to read more of her books.

This book is a good continuation of the first and has more juicy details about the mess Jack was into.  This book shows Lindsey's life after daddy rat bastard and her growth into a mature woman. At times I felt like she was in a box trying to scratch her way out. I hate all of the stuff she had to go through on account of her father, but I am glad she had Trace there with her, he is the best. Sammie was super selfish and like a totally different person in this book than book 1. I guess the growth from the first book was to be expected, but it wasn't a good change for her, in my opinion. Oh my goodness! Someone needs to cut Jack's eye out with a spork or a spoon or a paperclip. Susan is disgusting and she needs to die. Kyser is weird. I can't say much about him without giving it all away, but pay close attention to all of the characters. Everyone add a little something something to the mix. I kinda felt like I was playing detective while reading. Looking for clues and trying to piece together what was about to happen next while laughing at the funny banter and swooning over the hot men and sweating under the collar over those rated x scenes.

Who wouldn't fall in love with Taz? He's perfect for Lindsey and they just are too cute when they both try to deny their feelings.!

4.5 stars! The issues that I had with Diamond Girl weren't as prominent in this book. I think that Andrea Smith is a very talented writer. My main issue with this book was the dialogue and Lindsey's inner voice. They were just a bit awkward and unnatural. It wasn't enough to ruin the book, though. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

Andrea's books are H-O-T!! Who can blame Lindsey for wanting her first time to be with an older, inked, HOT FBI man?!?! Wow, these books left me speechless and did I mention HOT!! LOL!!

I liked this book just as much as the first book! I do think it can probably be read as a standalone but I'd recommend reading both. It was suspenseful, funny and definitely steamy - the sex scenes weren't gratuitous but advanced the romance.

I think Taz is my new book boyfriend! This book was an excellent continuation from Diamond Girl! Follow Lindsey's(Sammie's daughter) as she falls for Slates friend Taz! Taz can be sweet and romantic but he is also an alpha male to the core! I loved the interactions and the chemistry between these two! This book is a must read, can't wait for book #3!

Amazing book. It was sexy, intruiging, action, and romantic in a swoon worthy way. I was nervous about the love triangle that was hinted at in the blurp but it wasnt even an issue with how sexy and amazing Taz was. Read this! Ur missing out! And i read this as a stand alone book.

Lindsay Dennison has had quite a year. Her parents got divorced, her mother remarried and had a baby, her father went on the lam after it was revealed he was involved in criminal activity and she was trying to make it through her freshman year of college. After her mother remarried, the family relocated from Indiana to just outside of Washington, DC. Lindsay decided to transfer colleges to be closer to the family and her baby brother. Having an FBI agent as a stepfather has its pros and cons and one she still has in the "undecided" column is his best friend Trace "Taz" Matthews, who is also an FBI agent. She's met Taz a few times before, and at her mother's wedding, there might have been a kiss between the two that proved they had explosive chemistry. After discovering their chemistry, Lindsay has a problem that she's certain that Taz will help her with, but he may not be as receptive as she thinks. When fate steps in and makes sure that this duo spends time together, their relationship begins to shift and change and neither are sure what to make of it. Not to mention Lindsay has a potential suitor at her new university, but there are people in her life that aren't sure the potential boyfriend is all he's cracked up to be. When things take a drastic turn and lives are potentially hanging in the balance, most notably Lindsay's, Taz has to make a decision that could create issues for him at work, but he's also always been trained to trust his instincts. Will he make the right choice? Will her mom and stepfather be receptive to a potential relationship between Lindsay and Taz? This book sucked me in right from the get go. There was something about Taz I absolutely loved and the way he was with Lindsay was so sweet. Andrea Smith did another outstanding job with this book and I can't wait to dive into the next one!

I truly enjoyed Taz and Lindsey's romance. He is older and the best friend to Lindsey's step-dad, Slate, which means he is warned to stay away from Lindsey. When Lindsey starts to take notice of Taz, he gets pushed to resist but the giving in is oh so much fun. Taz isn't one for relationships so Lindsey turns him into her 'coach'. Of course, Taz has a hard time staying away but then we get the wrinkle of Kyzer, a brainiac that has taken an interest in Lindsey and sets off Taz's detective radar. An amazing mystery full of twists and turns provides a fabulous back drop to their romance.

5 Stars I was given this book for my honest review. This is the 2nd book in this series the first is Diamond Girl Flour, eggs and water with a dash of salt can create the perfect noodle recipe. Taking the time to blend them just right to perfection takes a little laugh, smile and a whole bunch of love. When it hits the boiling of the water to make it to a delectable treat that we can put our favorite toppings on we become giddy of our concoction that came out to a delicious taste of heaven. Lindsey-sweet, sassy, pretty and in college Taz-FBI need I say more...Hunky Lindsey is the pretty girl. She is sassy, sweet and smart. Her looks a lone can make a guy explode in his pants. Lindsey however isn’t the typical college student. She keeps a bunch of her emotions in check and only lets people see the façade she is trying to portray on the outside. What is going in on the inside is a totally different eruption. Can she let someone get closer to her and keep up the façade at the same time or will this someone tear down her walls and keep her safe from all that goes bump in the night? Taz is the guy that has the mystery going on. He also happens to be a man whore to some extent of the word but that is not how he wants to be seen as or does he? He is the protector of all that he loves and cares for. He is a man with a mission from first glance at this illusion of a woman. But is she really an illusion or can she just be a woman that has infatuated him from first glance? Can this woman be the one that stops all others that he has had before and make him the man that he knows that he can be? Can he find love and keep it safe above all? Lindsey and Taz’s journey is one that will have you gasping for air at times as they take on this tornado of a romance together. From hidden secrets to hidden kisses to the ultimate mind blowing sex that is hotter than the fireworks on the 4th of July these two are bound together as they become one inside the bedroom and outside it as well. From the icy slopes to the fireworks their togetherness can only be described as sensational. However with trouble from the past still lurking in their future can these two make it to find there forever together or will they be torn apart from each other for eternity? This is their journey from the ultimate sacrifices that they will have to make to find their happiness as one. I also want to mention that Lindsey has a few explosions for Taz. Please pick up this book to find out what they are. You will not be disappointed. The explosions are not what you will be thinking they are. Slate and Samantha make quite the reappearance as they continue their journey together as well. Samantha being Lindsey’s mom is at times judgmental but in a good way her husband Slate keeps her on an even keel at all times. All this is a great thing. To the author: Another amazing read. The depth that you created between these two characters left me speechless when trying to write this review. The sex and the rawness that you created were leaps and bounds that had me breathless. I thank you again for giving this reviewer the opportunity to once again take an amazing journey with two amazing characters. Please stay tuned for my next review of this G-Man Series called Night Moves Happy Reading
