CHAPTER 1

There is a little girl named Maya who loves animals. One day, Maya's dad brought home four ducklings. Maya named one of the ducklings Lucky.

When Lucky and the other baby ducks were small, they stayed in a cage under a heating lamp in the kitchen. When they started to get their feathers, Maya and her parents would put them in the bathtub and let them splash around.

Lucky and his friends enjoyed this so much, that when Maya and her parents would open their cage, the baby ducks would come out by themselves and run into the bathroom. They would stand by the tub, and wait to be put into the water.

When Lucky and the other ducks got bigger, Maya's dad put them outside to play in the yard and swim in the pond.

Lucky quickly became friends with Maya's dogs Dodge and Gypsy. Lucky started following the dogs around and acting like them.
