It has been two years since we won the lawsuit against Sugar Hill Records. I am at a place in my life where, I finally feel that it is necessary to tell my story. Lord knows that I am not getting any younger. Some may not like it, but the truth stands clear when everything else crumbles. My hope is to give you a visual of my group, the Funky 4 + 1 more's journey as young teenagers from the Bronx, New York. They were young inner city kids who broke barriers and became the Glady's Knight and Pips of Hip Hop. The Funky 4 + 1 more was instrumental in paving the way for many Hip Hop artist of today. I wrote this book so that you may know me as the Luminary Icon. The female Hip Hop Icon, who stands as the foundation for all female MC's/Rappers. I wrote this story for all of the young men and women around the world to encourage, build, but most importantly...invest in yourself. About the Author

MC Sha-rock began her career in 1976 as a b-girl/break dancer in the Bronx, New York. MC Sha-Rock has many first. She is credited with being apart of the first organized/synchonized Hip Hop group. MC Sha-Rock is also credited with being the first female MC to go full circle in a MC/Rap battle. She is the first female Pioneer MC/rapper to have a record deal. She is also the first female Pioneer MC to make a guest appearance on national television. MC Sha-Rock has influenced many artist of today such as, Deborah Harry of the group Blondie, Run DMC, MC Lyte, Beastie Boys, Sean Puffy Combs, Kurtis Blow and countless others. MC Sha-Rock stands as the foundation of female MC'S/Rappers.
