This is book 2 in the Hearts & Heroes series and it features Marine captain Mack Magnus and international model Deirdre Darcy. These two make an unlikely pair but when it comes to love anything goes. The story line was fantastic! There's constant action beat between two people extremely drawn towards each other, PTSD nightmares or just thinking of the past or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Mac is sizzling HOT and very talented. Deidre has a completely hilarious sarcastic sass. This is a short but fabulous read and I can't wait for more from this fantastic author.

Elle James - Mack's Witness (Hearts & Heroes Series - Book 2) The series is based on three brothers who are all in the U.S. military. Wyatt Magnus was in the Army Special forces, Mack is a Marine, Ronin is a Seal and Sam is an Army helicopter pilot. They have a younger sister, Abby, who is with the U.S. Foreign Service stationed in Ukraine at the American Embassy. Mack Magnus is in Dublin to attend his brother’s wedding to Fiona (book 1). He is picked up at the airport by the Maid of Honor which is also the bride’s cousin, Deirdre Darcy. Deirdre is famous in Ireland because she is an International model seen in all media including magazines and tv. Mack admires Deirdre’s beauty but he could do without her mouthy attitude. When he kisses her, Deirdre is furious? She has her career and doesn’t have time for a fling especially from a military guy who only believes in one-night stands. After the wedding, Deirdre sees two Irish gypsies leaving a murder scene. Deirdre is now a target and Mack is determined to take her some place safe where he can protect her. Will Mack be able to save Deirdre from the threat and will they have their own HEA? Find out by reading this fast paced, heart stopping romance!

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time... Deirdre Darcy manages to find herself in the absolute worst place at the wrong time in Elle James'second book in her Hearts & Heroes series. Mack's Witness tells the story of just what happened to Deirdre in that situation and how hero, Mack Magnus falls for Deirdre and then saves the day. Elle James does a super job of putting together just the right words to thrill her readers with lots of action as well as excellent passion and love scenes. You can never go wrong with an Elle James tale so I suggest you treat yourself to this one.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were fun and it was an entertaining story line. This is the second book in the series but it can definitely be read as a standalone. Mack is headed to Ireland for his brother's wedding and is picked up by Deirdre at the airport. The banter between them starts right away as does the chemistry. Neither one is really looking for anything but they can't quite stay away from each other. Deirdre ends up in danger from having seen 2 possible murderers, though not having known it at the time. It allows both Mack and Deirdre to spend more time together and build their bond. I thought the story was well written and engaging. It flowed and blended well all the elements. There is plenty of action and romance to keep the story moving and the reader engaged. The sex is explicit and fits the characters and the story perfectly. I was drawn in from the beginning and just enjoyed reading it. The story felt like a quick read to me because of it. The book is a nice length. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Mack is on his way to his brother's wedding in Ireland. He has been in the sandbox for too long. When he looks for the person who is supposed to pick him up at the airport, he spies a beautiful woman that he would like to know better. Turns out she is the person to pick him up. They don't get off to a good start, but that doesn't keep them apart for long. Deirdre is impressed with Mack's build, but not with his manner. Once she gets to know him better, she changes her mind. When she witnesses two men in a hallway, she doesn't know that her life will change. She is the only witness to the men who murdered someone in the hotel and Mack is the man to watch over her. They live worlds apart, but can they come together?

Enjoyable story full of unique characters in an interesting story line. I love that the story was set in Ireland and the writing makes you feel like you are there. Mack and Deirdre are strong, career minded individuals that are attracted to one another. Can he keep her safe and convince her they belong together? A must read! I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.

It's not "luck of the Irish," it's "luck with the Irish" for Marine Mack Magnus. From his first meeting with Deirdre Darcy, I guess you could say, he was looking for what may be at the end of the rainbow. Mack's on leave and has arrived in Dublin to be best man at his brother's wedding. Deirdre, an international Irish model, is the bride's cousin and maid of honor. The trip over the rainbow got a lot more interesting the night before the wedding when Deirdre saw two men who may be suspects in a murder. This second book in the Heart and Heroes series is a great little read.
