Overview

Make it Rain, The Montclair Brothers, Book 1 by Terri Marie

Tyler Montclair wasn't looking for love on that rainy night. He'd just narrowly escaped a five-year relationship with a nutcase. All he had to worry about now was avoiding damsels in distress, his weakness, and sheltering his brothers from generations of family secrets that could change their lives forever.

Renee Preston is on the run. Her abusive husband, Robert, is after her…but so is Tyler Montclair. She doesn't need a knight in shining armor to rescue her, so she avoids him like the plague. But every time she closes her eyes, there he is. Up close and personal.

But for these two lost souls, fate has a different plan. Before they know it, their lives are entwined in ways they could have never imagined. When an unlikely series of events sends everyone's world into a tailspin, the Montclairs band together for a fight they never expected.

Castle Lake is their destination. The family secrets could be their undoing. Robert could be their demise.

About the Author

I love to write stories in different genres that paint you a picture, take you places you wouldn't ordinarily be able to go, and make you carry the characters in your heart and mind for years to come, just as I experienced when I created them. If a smile shines upon your face, a lesson is learned, and you wanted to sit down again and turn another page, then I am happy. If you recommend it to someone...I'm ecstatic!Thank you for your support and enthusiasm in my writing, and for your honest reviews. I read all my emails and if you contact me via my website, I will write back.If I'm not writing a book I'm busy being a mom, which is indeed my favorite part of life.

I got this book because of the reviews it got. Well I'm sad to say that it is not what it is cracked up to be. Started out following 2 people over a few ears time then abruptly changes to another person with out reason right on the middle of the action of the story. Then it follows the new guy that get accused of something that he didn't do. I'm over 50 pages in amd so far it has nothing to do with the overview the author provided. I never not finish a book but I don't think I can force myself to finish this one. Do yourself a favor and bypass this one.

Not the five star ones, the 2 or 3 star ones. They tell the true story. If. Someone writes that they couldn't finish the book it must be BAD! Well, its pathetic. Do yourself a favour and pass on this one.

I began reading the book and was sorely disappointed by the second chapter. The dialogue is stilted and the story line is just plain ridiculous. I mean really, a boy runs away from home, reports abuse to the cops and they return him home to his parents? She leaves her husband and the cops are on his side? What parallel universe was the writer thinking about when she came up with this crap? I skimmed through the book to see if it got any better, but nooooooo. It just got worse and more unbelievable. Don't waste your time, money or energy with this one. Total loser.

This is a very poorly written book. The story is choppy and extremely fragmented. I slogged through 11 chapters before it got interesting. The rest of the chapters were not quite as bad, but it was still difficult to stay motivated to finish reading. The book ends exactly like I thought it would based on the beginning of the story. Even though the book gets somewhat interesting, it is still poorly written, and you have to decide what is missing in the story for it to make sense. At the end of book 1, you have 5 or 6 more books to read. I assume it ends at the 6th book. You would end up paying over $20.00 for these books if you read them all, and you would have 6 poorly written short stories that could have been written better and combined into one book.

I, too, should have checked the reviews. The book wasn't BAD, just not good. My biggest complaint is the ending. There wasn't one. The bullets were flying. People getting shot. Turn the page and you are told to buy the next book. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

The storyline was ok til about half way through......then it went on a wild goose chase trying to get away from crazy Robert. It never did address Vincent taking on Renees divorce. It just lost its flow after the halfway mark.

I have read books 1-6. The story flows and you really get to know and care about the characters. Book 7 is coming in February and I can't wait to read it!!!!!

I gave this book a 2nd try only because I have the newest nook and my other books are in the cloud that I could not download because of where I was. Anyway I think once you get pass ch.1 - 3, where the story pick up on the oldest brother Tyler you may like it but, it is a CLIFFHANGER which I hate. The end of the story pick up on what happen to Natalie, Angelique and my own opinion-I think Sebastian is still alive. Also this book is more of a mystery Love story? I took off one star for confusion and one for the cliffhanger again I hate

OK, I don't usually do reviews and this is probably more of a rant but here goes. First nothing is resolved in this book. It leaves you in the middle of the story. I hate books that you get that do that. It should say that it is only part of a story. Tyler is accused of assault and it never lets you know whether he gets off or not. I leaves you not knowing what happens with Robert the soon to be ex-husband other than he is burning down the house and shooting people as they come out. That is not how you end a story. I know the idea is to hook people so they buy the next story in the lineup, but I for one will not be because I hate to be left hanging. It is one thing to have multiple story lines going or hint at stuff to interest readers or to just have other characters to tie books together but nothing in this book was resolved. It is all up in the air. It was like reading a used book to find out that the last 20 pages were missing. I notice more and more of this and I feel that they should have a warning before you buy/borrow that this is only part of a book that there are ___ part that you have to buy to get the story or maybe just say that it is not a standalone book.

How in the world this book got 4 stars, I have no idea. Not only does it start off with one storyline following this couple, but it randomly and abruptly jumps ahead to the oldest son and the trouble going on in his life. The characters are flat and the plot is hard to follow, even though the author tries to spoon feed you how you are suppose to react. I had to stop halfway because i cannot take anymore of the stilted dialogue.
