From Divorce Court star Lynn Toler: a bold, inspiring, and no-nonsense guide to marriage
As the judge starring on the hit nationally syndicated television show Divorce Court, Lynn Toler has seen hundreds of problem marriages. She herself has been wed for more than 20 years and has personal experience with both the highs and lows of matrimony. What's the biggest challenge to marriage today? As Judge Toler sees it, too many couples decide to take the plunge based on the most irrational of criteria: falling in love.
Making Marriage Work doesn't suggest that love has nothing to do with marriage at all; rather, Judge Toler says that love by itself is simply not enough to make most marriages work. This book is a logical and simple guide to bringing back some of the practicality that has leaked out of marriage over the years. Marriage, Judge Toler says, is a job, and it needs to be treated like one. Replete with simple, no-nonsense rules, Divorce Court anecdotes, and stories about Judge Toler's own union, Making Marriage Work will help you bridge the gap between head over heels and happily ever after.

Divorced since 2007....in a good relationship and ready to make the leap into marriage. What I now know about myself and understand because of this book...I have a clearer understanding of the good and not so good parts of me.....thank you Judge Toller....this is a must read before getting married! This books breaks down the real part of communication and truly committing to your partner, yourself and the relationship. If you are at least willing to truly examine yourself and commit in faith to another....read this book..I was calling my husband -to -be crying over my i issues! True examination of self and how the past influences the present and if you are not careful....your future! God's blessings.
