Mariner of Destiny

Set against the upheavals of the twentieth century, Mariner of Destiny follows a California Latino who enters the U.S. Naval Academy in 1910 and rises through the ranks to become a naval officer shaped by war, innovation, and love. His career carries him from destroyers at sea to diplomatic service in prewar Vienna, where he falls in love with a Spanish aristocrat trapped in a dangerous marriage.
