Midnight's Promise: A Dark Warrior Novel by Donna Grant

For centuries, Malcolm has struggled against the forces of darkness—and bears the scars to prove it. Hardened by a lifetime of fighting, he is more warrior than man, incapable of feeling love or compassion. But one stormy night, he pulls a beautiful woman from a car wreck—and experiences a rush of fiery emotion that could melt even the hardest of hearts.

Since childhood, Evangeline Walker has felt the magic growing inside her. Descended from Druids, she is the perfect vessel for ancient magic—and evil. Evie knows she should trust no one, not even Malcolm, whose strong touch and tender kiss she craves. But after she makes a devil's bargain to save her half-brother, this fearsome warrior may be the only man who can protect her—with his heart, his body, and his soul…

Midnight's Promise is a Dark Warriors novel from Donna Grant.

An excellent series! Loved each book. Sad to see the end come but hoping Donna Grant will continue with the dragons now?! If you enjoyed her other series, Donna Grant will not let you down with this one!!

I liked that Malcolm finally got his story. I wasn't sure how this would end. All the warriors are married. It feels like the end and that is the only sadness I feel after having just finished the book. Begin with the first book. Enjoy!

A beautiful & heart-tugging read from Donna Grant filled with romance, magic, and suspense I kind of had a crush on the bad boy warrior, Malcolm, Deirdre's former warrior designate and ultimate betrayer, from the very first time he appeared in the books. What's not to crush on? An alpha hero who is scarred and has a very sensitive interior life that he shields from view. I was so glad as he was rehabilitated over time in the books, but uneasy as to his future course at the end of book seven. So Midnight's Promise (book eight) was a fabulous read for me. Malcolm finally has his story to tell and in doing so, has to conquer his demons, not just the god who lives inside him. When Malcolm first glimpses mies druidess Evie as she enters a grocery store, the writing is very much on the wall. Both of them are extremely guarded individuals, but their chemistry together cannot be denied. Evie's special magic is fascinating, but it is her relationship with her mute half-brother that really symbolizes who she is. Someone who took on care of a disabled child at age 18, with no questions, but great love. We know immediately that if he is threatened all hell will break lose. One thing I really enjoyed about this series was that some of my favorite Dragon Kings were featured yet again. In the past few novels, Grant has been giving them more and more prominence and they are another group of super alphas that you will fall in love with too. I'd advise any paranormal romance fan to make sure that Donna Grant's books are in the library on your e-reader or on your bookshelves (though some of her books, like the novella, are only available electronically at this time). I vote five bunches of mistletoe for this series of three spellbinding tales by Grant that help to round out a fabulous series.

3.5 Stars ~Reviewed by ANN & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog Donna Grant takes a different approach in the eighth book of the Dark Warriors series. Malcolm is a dark character, one who is angst ridden and burdened with this guilt that weighs him down. As he distances himself from the people who care about him, readers form an emotional attachment to this wounded warrior. It isn't until he saves a woman from a car crash that he feels something stirring within him once again. Evie is a descendant of druids so she has the ability to be the vessel in which magic and evil can be contained. As she enters the home of a key character in this series, the stones speak to her on a level that brings so much magic to this series. Trust becomes a big factor between Evie and Malcolm and yet, neither of them are willing to take that first leap of faith. MIDNIGHT'S PROMISE has a slightly darker tone to it. It definitely has more angst. As Evie's brother, Brian relies on her, readers get a sense of her frustration and pressing need to stop the danger from finding her. Malcolm must somehow open up his own hardened heart and let Evie in. The beginning was a little slow for me. However, as more of the story unfolded, I realized it wasn't necessarily about the action in this one. It's more about the emotional journey for these two characters than the physical. I liked the route Grant took with this story. It definitely keeps things interesting. MIDNIGHT'S PROMISE is a sensual, erotic play of magic and mayhem. This series continues to evolve in astonishingly unique ways. *ARC provided by publisher

The Dragon Kings ........ and the Dark Warriors....... the most exciting, compelling, thrilling, heart wrenching books Ive ever read! The only thing that could make it better is to turn them into a tv series! And what a show that would be!!!!!!!

Malcolm Munro is a Warrior with the god Daal inside him he battles the dark forces within but lately he is becoming more isolated from those who care about him. Evangeline Walker or Evie as she is better known has felt the magic within her since she was a child. At 18 she was left to raise and take care of her half-brother Brian. Evie is on the run, her bother is in school and she is making sure to move around as she has a sense someone is following her. Malcolm feels Evie's magic and he is drawn to it in a way he has never experienced before. When their paths cross things will begin to unravel and when Evie's brother is kidnapped and they go to rescue him the danger they will face will become all too real. Evie will make a decision to save her brother that could cost her everything but when Malcolm finds out he knows he will be the only one who can keep her safe. The Warriors had thought they defeated the evil that was Jason Wallace only to see him rise from the dead. So now with everything on the line including the prophecy for their future the Warrior, Druids and Dragons will need to align and Evie will need to trust in herself and the good she holds inside. Great Book I loved Malcolm's story I fell in love with the characters and just fell into the pages and travelled the journey with them. Donna Grant is truly one of the best writers I have read and if you haven't read this series do yourself a favor and add it to your TBR list today.

This book exceeded my expectations in dealing with Malcom's story. This warriors story above all of them I wanted to know. Tragic, lost, and feeling thats no redemption was possible. @Donna_Grant wove a story filled with sensuality, forgiveness, hope and love. I still cry thinking of what I read and how it ends. Please tell me this series isn't over! I feel like I am losing my family.

This is my opinion of the Whole Series. Over all I loved this series. There were times when I got so frustrated with both the Druids and the Warriors but made me read it all the more to make sure everything worked out even though I knew it would. I fell in love with all the character and now want to move to Scotland, lol. I love being able to read about some of the places they went as I have visited Scotland in those same places and could picture what it looked like. I loved how each book was it's own but still part of a larger story. Thank you for the ending and the updates on all the couples at the end of this book. I hope some of these characters make an appearance in the Dark Kings series.

The heroine in this book is too stupid to live. Supposedly very smart but constantly doing very stupid things. Very frustrating. I forced myself to continue reading simply because I paid for it and have a policy of always finishing a book. However I did start skimming pages just to end it quicker.

Great book and story. A little slow in the beginning with Malcom and Evie lamenting their past, but picks up quickly  And takes you breath. Its great to see all the Warriors complete.
