Sometimes you want someone so much...

Sometimes you need someone so much...

Lust can become love.

And love can turn into a deadly obsession.

Skye Sullivan knows that someone is watching her. Not just watching--stalking her. Months ago, Skye was involved in a dangerous car accident. The accident ended her dancing career and sent her fleeing back to Chicago. Skye is convinced that her stalker caused the crash, and she fears that he won't stop pursuing her, not until she's dead.

When someone breaks into her apartment in Chicago, Skye turns to the one man she believes can protect her--Trace Weston. Once, Trace was her lover. Two lost souls, they'd come together in a firestorm of need and desire. But then Trace had pushed her away. He'd joined the military, vanishing from her life. She'd put all of her emotion into dancing, and she'd tried to forget him.

Now Trace is one of the most successful men in the United States. Rich, driven, and carrying dark secrets, he agrees to help Skye. He'll protect her from the danger that lurks in the darkness, but Trace wants more than to just be a guard for Skye.

He wants her. And he'll take her. The years have changed him, hardened him. He's not just a poor kid from the streets any longer. Now, he can have anything--or anyone--that he wants. And the one woman he has always wanted has just come back into his life. He won't let her go again.

But with the threats mounting against Skye, she suspects that her stalker may be intimately close. He's a man who knows her too well. As his attacks grow ever more dangerous, she realizes that if she trusts the wrong man, she could be making a fatal mistake.

Lust. Love. Obsession.

Just how far would you go in order to possess the one person you want the most?

I love stories and movies where I can use my analytical mind to figure out "who done it". This one had me guessing all the way to the end and it wasn't who I thought it was going to be. The scenes between Trace and Skye were hot enough to make my kindle burn in my hands. I recommend this book to all readers who love HOT alpha men and a good mystery!

In all honesty I did not even realize it was suspense when I picked it up. Just a book that seemed interesting. And boy was I right on the second. I was on the edge trying to figure who the stalker was, if there was a stalker. Good and evil were shades of grey and it was hard to figure what would happen next. I adored Skye's character. And of course her name is one of the reasons I first picked it up. Who doesn't like reading about a character with the same name, spelled the same way. I have always enjoyed Cynthia's books and this one was icing on the cake. The fast pace of it made me not want to put it down. And because it was so great I never even realized how short it was. I was too focused on reading on. I couldn't put it down. I loved the small growth of character that occurred through the the incidents. It was a very compelling read.

This was simplistic at most. Sentences averages 7 words. It was fragmented and incomplete. Shallow. One dimensional characters with the instant-I-love-you syndrome, and it wasn't done well. The writing structure reminded me of a weak dream where all you recall were just glimpses and nothing connecting or correlating. Dialogue was fundamental at best. Editing was equally bad. I suppose this may be a good read for teen, but the ONE intimate seen may not be appropriate. Not for me, I prefer my books with substance and intelligence. I get it was .99 cents, but  I still feel ripped off. Cannot for the life of me figure out who is rating this.

I just finished this and I loved it, was an amazing read, I am just amazed how Cynthia Eden can write, I just love her. Her way of writing just captivates me and this is her first book I read that isn't paranormal. I decided to try her other work and was not disappointed, she can write so well. I loved this book, because it should how well the author can write. I am more of a paranormal romance reader because I love fantasy and creatures of the night. Which is what attracted me to her work, but I am such a huge fan of her paranormal that I decided to read this book, because I read the blurb and was intrigued. The author has a way to bring her into her stories no matter what genre, which really shows the talent of the author. I usually do not read authors other work if not a fan of that genre. Which is why I am kind of surprised that I loved this book so much and look forward to read Cynthia Eden other work. It's not just the plot or the way she writes, but also the way she brings her characters that just captivate you. I love Skye and Trace equally because they were perfect for each other, might love Trace and little more because he just so sexy and possessive. I gave this book five stars for so many reason, but basically I am just blown away with how much I loved this story. Mainly because it not what I am used to reading, because it from an author I already like just a different genre work form her. I was so in grossed in the story and could not stop till I had read it all. No matter what Cynthia Eden writes, I am never disappointed, I just love her style of writes; it brings me in every time. If you have read her work, you will not be disappointed because she delivers on a great, entertaining book with suspense and love; with so much depth in her characters. Even if you haven't read any of her work, you should give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed. Cannot wait to read Cynthia Eden next release.

Skye Sullivan was a New York CIty Prima Ballerina until a stalker caused her to be in a terrible car accident. She fled back to Chicago and to try to escape the stalker. When he followed her, she knew she had to do whatever it took to find out who was after her, so she turned to the one man that she felt could protect her, her first love, Trace Weston. Trace may have grown up poor but he was now one of the most successful men in the United States, the owner of a security company with lots of connections thanks to his very secretive military career. Skye swallows her pride to ask for help from Trace, and finds that he still thinks of her and wants her too. Trace is dark and dangerous and will do anything to protect Skye and now that she is back in his life, he plans on her staying there. This is a wonderful romantic suspense, filled with lots of mystery and will have you guessing as to who is behind the stalking of Skye. Plus, there is all kinds of steamy, sexyness in this romance story. I did not want to stop reading this for any reason! If you like sexy romantic suspense, you will enjoy this book!

This is a very sexy read. The couple has tons of chemistry and there are a lot of 'action' here. The book is also very fast-paced. Part of it is because it's a shorter book... I finished reading it really quickly! But a great terrific suspenseful book! By May

This book by Ms Eden was as usual excellently written. Mine to Take kept me constantly guessing as to who the stalker was. I couldn't get a grip on who it was because the suspense kept coming. This book was full of secrets. If you want a good romantic suspense book, then "Mine To Take" is the one to read. I loved it.

I liked the plot. The author could have left off some of the steamy descriptions of coitus. I really liked that it had a definite mysterious angle to it. I was surprised at the person that turned out to be the villain. I thought it would have been the Parker character that they encountered in their youth. Do give this book a chance. Simone24

Was only about 100 pages. Lots of people involved with an obsession with a dancer that they all had a fling with and all wanted to control and own. She ends up with her first love but the way I see it he's rather controlling and ruthless to get control also.

As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by KittyKelly 5 out of 5 Licks I don't generally read a lot of romantic suspense. I always seem to know who the bad guy is before it's revealed and it makes it hard for me to get into the books. That is so not the case with Cynthia Eden. I found myself guessing between three characters and was never really sure who it was until the end. I was even thought it could have been the hero of the story. This is a dark story full of suspense and obsession. There is more than just love between the characters, it is true obsession. This one rides the line of love and crazy. lol This one kept my heart beating fast and my mind guessing on who to trust. Don't miss out on the first in this amazing series from Cynthia Eden.

Skye and Trace's pull is si strong, you feel their love, their passion, their fear, their perseverance...and so much more. The author shows you many options as to who the stalker is. The clues are there but if you are not really looking you just may miss it but if you catch on the thrill of being right is exciting. Enjoy!

Overall the story line was good but I felt that I would have connected better had there been more detail/description in the development of the characters. The sentence structure also felt a bit short and choppy at times.

The book was really good. I think they couldve dug more into Trace's military history but all in all a good read.. will definately recommend to others

This book was a really sexy read, the characters had great chemistry, the writing flowed nicely, and it had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who Skye's stalker was. Great suspense! It was a short read...but in all honesty, it didn't take away from the story line at all. This is definitely worth picking up. ARC provided by NetGalley.

My Rating: ¿¿¿½ This book was provided by NetGalley for an honest review. My Thoughts: I appreciated the twists and turns of Mine to Take. In classic Cynthia Eden romantic suspense style, you never knew who the stalker was until the very end. I actually had it pegged as one person until I saw the overwhelming clues of who it was. The story was a quick and powerful little read. I received this copy as a NetGalley review copy and it was a demo copy -- chopping off major segments, including the end. I actually had to purchase the book (maybe that was the intention) to discover how Skye and Trace's story ended. Overall, it was an enjoyable read but it definitely would have rated higher if it was longer and the suspense had been allowed to play out more with more twists and turns.

A good read! Trace and Skye are good leading characters that keep you interested. A great steamy romantic suspense book. I was impressed at the end because I didn't figure out the ending (which I almost always do). It had me turning page after page trying to see what happens next.

Excellent book. One of the best suspence novels that I have ever read. Totally had me guessing who the "stalker" was. Please write more of these type novels because you are very good at it.

Great read! I loved the characters and thought they were well-defined and easy to relate to. The suspense and mystery was tense, and I admit I was a bit thrown by the accusations that were made by the detective and doctor. They even planted some doubts in MY mind ;) . I enjoyed the writing style, and read it in an afternoon. Highly recommend.

A great read for a rainy weekend or several lunch hours. Ms. Eden keeps readers on the emotional edge until the last page. If you think you know whodunnit, trust me, you don't. Just when you feel you have a trail or answers, things shift taking you in different directions. Skye is a traumatized victim that when things can't seem to get any worse, draws on the strength that helped her survive foster care and gave her ballet. Trace, for all his hotness and alpha male posturing, is feirce and protective, even when questions Skye's decisions or her sanity. What girl could resist that! One note: If you are a reader who tends to get emotionally invested feeling as if you are in the book as you're reading, you may want to avoid reading at bedtime. Although there are places where you may feel sexually charged, there are also many where you'll feel on edge or jangly, especially if you're single and living alone. Stalking and crazy behavior is never very comforting subject matter for single ladies in the ID culture we're in where we see shows all the time about what happens when boyfriends or other SOs get too fixated or intrude on our sense of safety and security. Just a warning.

First book in the Mine series was intense, fast, and short.  Definitely a novella, but without falling to the curse because they knew each other ten years ago while in foster care.  When she shows up at his office needing help, he sets out to win her back and keep her this time instead of pushing her away.  He is an intense male lead and the conflict was dark, scary, and moved quickly.  She was much softer and I think that made for a good match for his intensity and darkness. The plot line was enjoyable and the conflict was strong; it definitely had a creepy bad guy. I enjoyed the quick read.
