Good & sassy, does need better editing though.

I really enjoyed this story. It was light and airy, a great mix of sass and fun. I enjoyed most that these characters did not need some bleak and scarring backstory to make them interesting. Instead we got to travel along with these proud and stubborn, but otherwise well adjusted, characters as they find their way to love. I have never been a big fan of how authors will throw in some contrived issue that tears apart a relationship just for the characters to get to their HEA. Jamie and Dex’s story felt real without the emotional drama baggage that can plague so many good romance stories. Plus, I am just a big fan of laughing, and this book had many opportunities for that. Humble word of advice to all authors out there, grammatical errors bug me and interrupt my reading experience. Fix that, will ya?

Lots of editing errors made it a struggle to read. Great story concept, but falls short with the delivery. Disappointing save your money.

Miss Mechanic was FREAKING AWESOME!! Emma Hart knows how to put a wide grin on my face!!!Miss Mechanic is the story of Jamie and Dex. Jamie is desperately looking for a job but she is struggling to find one in her domain… why? Because she is a woman and she is a mechanic! But not your classic mechanic- she is a hot mechanic who turns up to work with red lipstick! “I even put on the goddamn red lipstick. Just to prove I could fix cars while wearing it. “ She hears that the local garage is looking for a mechanic and decides to apply. Jamie knows the garage too well as her dad used to own it… Jamie and Dex do not hit it off well, at all. Emma Hart is known for her hilarious and very sarcastic characters and guess what? ...we have no shortage of them in this book. It flows so well and seems so natural. Jamie wants to prove Dex wrong- he doesn’t think that she has what it takes to survive as a mechanic. They are two sworn enemies for sure but we know where this is going… they both had me in stitches. “I have a hot temper, and it’s a work in progress. Controlling it is a bit like herding cats. Just when I think I have my ducks in a row, I realize they’re more like rabbits at a rave. They go back and forth, slinging insults while trying to get the upper hand. They claim to hate each other, but it is so clear to everyone but themselves that they do not. Will they get their HEA? Who will win the bet? “Jamie was a challenge. A loud-mouthed, confident, damn tempting challenge who didn’t wear pants unless they were sassy.” The witty and hilarious banter, the chemistry, the passion made me root for Jamie and Dex. If you are looking for a classic RomCom that will make you LOL, Miss Mechanic is the one for you! “ I had no doubt I’d be able to resist him, but I was also human. If I was attracted to him, I’d give in eventually. He wouldn’t win the battle of the mechanics, but he might just win the battle of seduction.”

I like this book the heroine is a strong woman who finds a man she wants to prove she a good mechanic as a man and still be the hot woman after hours.

4 Stars Miss Mechanic is a thoroughly entertaining and engaging romantic comedy that breaks through gender stereotypes. Dex and Jamie's story is a charming, fun, sexy heat filled enemies to lovers romance, that had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. Both Jamie and Dex are endearing characters, who are quite similar in the traits they share other than their occupation, both are stubborn, head strong, and determined to prove their ideologies are correct, which leads to argumentative, snarky and sassy banter. Despite being sexist in his opinions, Dex is a lovable character who seems to always be saying the wrong thing, despite his best intentions. Jamie is a like-able, strong, sarcastic, stubborn female character. This two butt heads, and clash at every turn, whilst their attraction is mutual, its also quite uncomfortable in the work place, and despite their rivalry the sexual tension oozes off the page. If you are after a light hearted, fun, fast paced humor filled read look no further than Emma Hart's, Miss Mechanic.

Slow moving plot. Constant bickering was depressing. The novel seemed to revolve around buying tacos or eating tacos. Will archive this one.

Miss Mechanic By: Emma Hart ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Review by Kristie K Fun, flirty, and lots of dirty…Miss Mechanic brings sexual tension to a whole new level with humor and plenty of heat… Emma Hart delivers another incredible hit with Miss Mechanic! As with every other book by Ms. Hart that I have had the pleasure to read, she injects humor and fun into every inch of the storyline. Sure, there may be moments of tension or angst, but the majority of the time it is a whole lot of fun and sexual tension. An intriguing plot and storyline, capped off with outstanding execution and overall writing brings Miss Mechanic up to the level we expect from Emma Hart. The characters are fantastic! They bring to life the essence of the story, with their wit, playful and emotionally charged banter, and their passion. Each character had a depth and soul all their own, a personality that you can’t help but love, and a truth that opens you up. If you wanna get a little dirty this Christmas, Miss Mechanic is the perfect read for you! Kristie K

Emma’s books just keep getting better and better! Just when I think she can’t write something I’d love more than her last book… BAM! Another epic story comes my way! If the cover and the blurb didn’t catch your attention, listen to me. You need this book in your life! It’s not often that a book will keep a smile on my face for the ENTIRE book! This rom-com was brilliant. I laughed until my stomach hurt and at the same time felt more confident as woman. I love how fun Emma makes gender reversal stories. They are relatable and funny as heck! Dexter Ryne is the new guy in town. The new owner of what used to be Jamie’s family’s garage. Out of a job, Jamie applies to work as a mechanic but Dexter thinks she’d be more suited to work reception. He’s not prepared for the fireball that comes his way as she’s determined to prove him wrong and make him eat his words. Their hate to love relationship is so great! The sexual tension between the two sparks off the pages of this story. Watching them navigate their employee/employer relationship as the desire for each other increases and becomes undeniable. I couldn’t get enough of them together and loved every second of their story! One of my favorite things about Emma’s books are the secondary characters. They NEVER disappoint! They are hilarious and often super embarrassing for the main characters which make them even better! Go, right this second, and buy this book! You will not regret it! It’s hilarious, passionate, and truly amazing! I can’t wait for the next one!

I was equipped. I was ready. I'd lived my life with a refusal to make anyone make me feel like I was worth less than I knew I was, and I wasn't going to change that now. Jamie Bell knows cars better than people some days. She knows her way around a garage, too, and can use a wrench like nobody's business. So, when a position comes open in what used to be her family's auto repair shop, why wouldn't she apply? Two words...Dexter Ryne. Dex has a place for Jamie at the shop, all right, and it's answering phones and greeting customers. What does she have to say to that? Oh, heck, no, that's what. And so another great love story begins... Emma Hart can write a romantic comedy like nobody's business. The sass, the snark, the self-confidence, these are the heroines that make her stories sing. And, when you pair them with the men that will (at least eventually) love them as they are, it's matches made in, well, let's just say that they work. I love books that, along with some steamy sexy times, makes me laugh out loud, because if you're not having fun, you're not doing it right. Emma has done it right with Jamie and Dex, because they make everything about the enemy to lover thing work, and it's a hoot to read their story. I don't think that Emma's written a thing that I don't love, because each and every book is infused with her sense of humor, tongue firmly in cheek, and her signature sass and sparkle. MISS MECHANIC hits the mark in every way, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. An easy 4.5 stars for this book, it's a must-read for Emma's fans, and lovers of rom-coms peopled with strong women and the men that love them.

OMFG!!! This was a blast. And exactly what the doctor ordered to lift my spirits up :D To be honest, this has been one of the funniest stories I've read in recent times. I was belly laughing on practically every page :D And yes, the story in itself is not something that will stay in your heart forever with it's incredible characters and mind blowing story line. But one think I can promise you, is that you will remember the hilarious banter between Jamie and Dex and laugh every time when it comes to mind :) So yes, Jamie and Dex are definitely two intriguing characters. I love that Jamie represents a strong woman in a male world (being one of those, I know what a pain that can be). But a book is not about gender equality and so on (even if the subject is touched in it). It is simply book written to make you laugh. The constant banter between Jamie and Dex is brilliantly hilarious. And that of course, increases the hot factor between them to combustible proportions. You can practically feel the heat through the pages ;) So, if you are looking for a read that will put you in a great mood for the holidays, definitely check Miss Mechanic. I can guarantee that you will be belly laughing within the first few minutes. And if that's not enough for you, I can guarantee that the heat created by the smart banter between Jamie and Dex will simply scorch your kindle ;) I can't wait to find out what will be next by the amazing Emma Hart :) This review was originally posted at Living In Our Own Story Book Blog. I received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.

This book is great for first time Emma readers. With exception of the main character's sassiness, I found this to be a bit on the milder side of Emma's books. There were still some funny moments in the book. I felt that all of the bickering seemed to take away from the story. Glad this one was a standalone.

This book is close to one of my all time favorite Emma Hart books. The banter, wit, sexual tension between Dex and Jaime is just perfect. I found myself laughing out loud so many times while reading (and getting funny looks from those who were around me). I loved the family dynamics with each of the characters and how they were always trying to out sass one another. Definitely a top 2017 read!!!

**4 Stars** Oh, how this story cracked me up. The chemistry between Dex and Jamie was amazing but I think the thing I liked about them the most is their bantering. What started out as mutual hatred for each other quickly turned into something else. They just had to realize it. There were so many times I burst out laughing from the lines/dialogue in this book. Jamie is hilarious. She won't back down from a fight and the girl's snark is out of control. Add in Dex and holy hannah. He pushed EVERY ONE of her buttons.Knowing that he did this killed me. I loved watching him have the mental fight of do I want her or do I want to strangle her. They seriously know how to get on each other's nerves, but I think that's why I loved them so much. They are both so strong willed and strong headed that they butted heads, often, but it was also what made their relationship so much stronger. I seriously loved this story and I tcouldn't put it down.

Like every Emma Hart Book I’ve read, I loved!! Dex and Jamie are so hot, they’re fire!! They’re both so sassy and snarky to each other but you just know it’s one hell of a foreplay buildup. And Dex’s great aunt is awesome! She’s sassy and a pusher and just so fun. Actually, all of Dex’s family is. From his sister who torments him, to her daughter who calls him out. Dex can’t get away with anything and I love that about his character. He is a total pushover for the women in his life, even as he pretends not to be. Jamie is sass personified. There is no other way to put it. She is almost too cocky and snarky when she interviews for a mechanic job with Dex. But her arrogance just makes her that much better. Although I think Dex was my favorite character... Or maybe Charley.

Emma Hart does it again with her witty banter amongst her main characters. It gives you all of the feels with frustration why can't they get along, to this is H-O-T romance! I just completed a very emotional book and needed a light and steamy romance and Emma Hart hit just the spot! Miss Mechanic is your perfect enemies to lovers with a dash of insta-love tied in. I normally don't like insta-love stories, but these two stubborn mechanics had me reeling for them to see their true feelings for each other STAT! If you enjoy Emma Hart's previous books then you will LOVE Miss Mechanic!

Emma Hart brings us a new and fantastic new book with Miss Mechanic. I was laughing my behind off so much with the antics Jamie and Dex were putting each other through. I knew these two loved to get under each other skin. The burning of attraction was just right there every time. The background of the story makes the relationship a bit shaky when Dex meets Jamie. But I loved the love and hate these two had. If they weren't tearing each other apart, they were certainly tearing each others clothes off. These two had amazing chemistry. My favorite part of this book would have to be when Jamie's mom walks in on Dex in a towel! Standing in Jamie's kitchen while she was in the shower. What happened next was hilarious! I could not take my eyes off the pages! A must read that will make you laugh, swoon over, and get a little over heated!

4 Stars! Emma Hart brings us a slow-burning, enemies-to-lovers romance that you'll love. Jamie's an out of work mechainc after her family's auto shop is sold. Dex's family is the one who bought the auto shop and he is in need of an employee. When Jamie applies for the job, she doesn't have high hopes. She's been turned down for jobs she's overly qualified for in the past purely because she is a female. When she and Dex meet it is instant dislike on both their parts, but when he offers her trial employement, even with his reservations that she is female, they slow, oh so slowly change their opinions of each other. The thing about Emma Hart's books that work is that they are simple and straightforward without a lot of extra. She also writes great secondary characters. There isn't anything particularly groundbreaking with this book, which I feel is what really makes it work. There isn't a scandal or a big secret. It is simply two people who hate each other in the beginning finally recognizing something in the other. Plus, there is Charley, Dex's precocious, seven-year-old niece who uses creative curse word replacements and tells it straight! I think you'll really enjoy this new standalone romance from Emma Hart!

I received a copy and voluntarily left a review. Emma Hart is by far one of my favorite authors but she has truly outdone herself in her newest book Miss Mechanic. Not only is it just as steamy as the rest and the families are just as hilarious but nothing fascinates me and makes me love a book more than a kick ass, sarcastic heroine and I would say out of all Emma’s stories I have read Jamie is by far the sassiest of them all! Add in a mechanic that I would let check my oil anytime and you have a story that is filled with a hot as hell couple, lots of whiskey drinking relatives, and plenty of laughs! Dex and Jamie had me burning the midnight oil to see how their story ended and giggling like a lunatic! Jamie Bell is an opinionated young woman who grew up with her head under the hood of a car and grease on her hands. There isn’t a person who can keep her from her true passion or a man who can handle her. Until the she meets the gorgeous Dexter Ryner who is the man of her sexiest dreams and her sexist nightmares. There wasn’t anything about Jamie that I didn’t absolutely adore or that didn’t resonate with me. I love a girl who can get dirty and do it all while wearing red lipstick. If there was ever a story that inspires female empowerment, it is Miss Mechanic! Dexter is a man that you want to hate and slap that smug look right off of his face because of his sexist views but who ends up embedded in your heart and starring in all of your personal fantasies. I loved every moment of his back and forth banter with Jamie that has them so filled with lust that they can’t see straight. Not to mention that his family is a complete hoot and kept me laughing! Emma Hart delivers another romance that is overflowing with snark, humor, and sweltering heat that satiates but still leaves us greedy for more! I highly recommend Miss Mechanic for non stop fun and sexy times with a couple who keep motors running hot from beginning to end! It doesn’t matter how many books I read by Emma Hart, she always manages to gives us a unique story that still makes us feel like we at home from the very first page.

Miss Mechanic is a great read! As usual Emma Hart writes books that I enjoy since the very first page until the last word and this one is no exception! This book is sexy, funny, lighthearted and full of great secondary characters. The banter between Dex and Jamie is absolutely wonderful. The sexual tension and the chemistry between the characters is described in such a great way that we fall in love with them instantly! Another thing I love about Emma Hart;s books is that the interaction between the main characters is almost constant and the book is entertaining and very dynamic. Wonderful read! I highly recommend it!!! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the author

4☆ Dex and Jamie butt heads like nobody's business! They are both sarcastic to the max and definitely seem to enjoy getting on the others nerves. I enjoyed the banter, but at times I just wanted the story to get along. They are more of a slow build up and have lots of tension, and I really enjoyed that. They are so similar that they don't even see that they make a lot of sense together. I really enjoyed their relationship, it had a natural flow to it. They both have quite the amusing family to add to the humor as well. A very entertaining read!

Emma Hart creates the strongest and most amazing heroines. I LOVED Jaime in this book. I can’t even imagine the difficulties of trying to break through what most still consider a “man’s world.” The sexism she must face and even though she’s incredibly tired of the same lame excuses she continues to go after her dream. It’s an admirable trait in anyone. Plus, I love her feistiness. I imagine Hart as this type of woman. Someone with a foul mouth and this incredible strength that surrounds them since that is the women she seems to create in most of her books. I LOVE when Emma Hart releases a RomCom or really any book. I know I’m gonna love the characters and their attitudes. But she always throws in these things or people that set her books above par. Dexter seems to have a stick up his butt, or at least that’s how I saw him at first. However, seeing him with his family was just plain magical. Charley was the best! That little girl kept a smiled glued on my face and a chuckle in my chest! I almost couldn’t handle all her wittiness! She was just too much! So if you’re interested in a RomCom that’s a bit of enemies to lovers with a ton of spicy family tossed in Miss Mechanic is perfection! This is a wickedly hilarious version of battle of the sexes. Dex and Jaime battle it out. Even though it’s a romantic comedy, I did get the feel of the larger issue talked about here: sexism. Besides that this book is just good fun and you’ll be entertained the entire time! Give it a read, you can’t help but go where Emma Hart takes you!

Miss Mechanic is Emma Hart's new standalone romantic comedy and I loved every word! Emma just keeps perfecting her skills in writing hilarious, sexy characters who we love and hate. Well, mostly love. Jamie applies for a job as a mechanic at the shop she grew up in. It isn't her families anymore, but she loves it and what she does for a living. The new owner, Dexter is a total a! He doesn't think a woman can be as good at fixing cars as a man, but he agrees to let Jamie try. Dexter just pushed his way to the front of the line with Jack, Drake and West. Hot damn! I don't know what it is about his sexy, mouthy a but I love him. From the moment he met Jamie he just wants to push her buttons. They bicker and fight, but it's really all foreplay. The best kind of hilarious foreplay! They need to work together and they both need to be right. Who's going to win in the end? Will they be able to keep their hands off each other? I loved this story! Oh my God. I was dying laughing and Dex is everything. Every. Thing. He's jerky on the outside, but oh so smooshy on the inside. He uses his mouth to sling insults and then to give out compliments. Jamie is a sexy, talented sassy mouth. Together they are fire and ice and after a while just sparks and fire! I loved every word. "Have you ever kissed yourself, darlin'? It's a risk I'm willing to take." "Lobsters don’t even mate for life. They're dirty little cheaters. Like Ross, since they weren't on a break." "Actually, yes, I do. In about ten minutes, I'll be putty in your hands, so I'm all about telling you what to do while I still have my wits about me. "That's the hottest thing you've ever said to me." "Shut up and finish taking off your clothes."

Yet another super sexy read by the awesome Emma Hart. Miss Mechanic is the second of Emma’s gender switch novels and has to be one of my favorite books of this year. Miss Fix It was the first in the series and is just as funny. Miss Mechanic is a slow burning, snarky story of two grease monkeys. Jamie Bell, whose father lost his business thanks to his ex-wife and Dexter Ryne, the man who now runs the garage. Dex needs a mechanic and Jamie applies for the position. Sparks fly when she turns up for her interview. Dex was expecting a man- not… Jamie. Things go from bad to worse after he offers her a 3 week trial. Neither are prepared to back down from the hostilities that first day set up, but slowly they get closer until the lines between hate and love are so blurred they can no longer see the difference. This was a sexy, spirited story. It took a long time for them to get it on but once they did, it was HOT as hell. Loved the bickering and banter, if not all the tacos lol. Will they survive the whole three weeks? Or will a wrench be thrown in the works by Miss Mechanic?
