Overview

Mistletoe at Moonglow by Deborah Garner

The small, old western town of Timberton, Montana, has not been the same since resident chef and artist Mist brought her unique, new age flavor to the area. When guests arrive at the Timberton Hotel for the holidays, they bring worries, fears and broken hearts, unaware that Mist has a way of working magic in people's lives. Will old-fashioned time spent together, exquisite food, conversation and a snowball or two offer guests a chance to trade sadness for hope? One thing is certain: no matter how cold winter's grip is on each guest, no one leaves town without a warmer heart.

About the Author

Deborah Garner is an accomplished travel writer with a passion for back roads and secret hideaways. Born and raised in California, she studied in France before returning to the U.S. to attend UCLA. After stints in graduate school and teaching, she attempted to clone herself for decades by founding and running a dance and performing arts center, designing and manufacturing clothing and accessories, and tackling both spreadsheets and display racks for corporate retail management. Her passions include photography, hiking and animal rescue. She speaks five languages, some substantially better than others. She now divides her time between California and Wyoming, dragging one human and two canines along whenever possible.

This is a Christmas feel good story. Attention and consideration during Christmas helps heal pain and sorrow that are with people as they arrive at the inn to share the holiday.

Although I think the author tried, the book was just too detailed on alot of irrelevant things; too goody-goody/candyland style... didnt experience character development and kept waiting for a story to happen, but it never did.

This story did not put me in the holiday spirit. If it was supposed to be endearing by using food as a comfort, it just didn't sound believeable. There was no real character development and it seemed to focus to much on Mist's menu planning and paintings. You should have had compassion for the characters but you couldn't really connect with them. The best thing about this story was the recipes and not the story itself.

A heartwarming, beautiful story of the Christmas Season in a small rural Montana town and a special hotel filled with very special people.

An interesting short story. Reminiscent of the stories we read in elementary schoolbooks. I enjoyed meeting Mist and her positive outlook of life. I found it interesting that complete strangers met and each one filled in little missing pieces of each other. It made for a quiet, tranquil afternoon break.

Simple inspiring story that shows us the way to listen to the hearts of the people we come in contact with and to share love and acceptance. The recipes were an unexpected bonus!

I enjoyed this sweet little novella. The characters were real enough to make the story believable. It was nice to have no drama, sex, or foul language just a simple story of what kindness can accomplish

A fun, little quick read. Some repetative wording, which annoyed the daylights out of me (I get it, she's magic), but it was free and helped me pass a gloomy day.

This is a short story that sort of ambles along. It is charming and sweet, but when you get to the end you wonder about the plot.

This was for me, a feel good book. A short and fast read, but even though there were cookies, this was not a cookie cutter story line. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
