Molly Harper by Emelle Gamble is a very good book. It is long, spanning roughly four years, with numerous story enhancing flashbacks. This is a story of family, and history, and changes. I dropped a star for editing, but the characters are strong and lovable. The situations are magnetic, I was drawn in within the first few pages. This particular edition also included the novella "Duets" which gives the background on these characters. Very well done.

Everyone has mistakes in their life. Some may be small while others are huge. Molly Harper, her mother and this new lady have more in common than they realize. Yes, Molly is a movie star and all that entails. Her mother, Norma is an elderly, wealthy woman. Anne has just moved to California. None of these ladies could imagine how their lives will change in a very short order. I love this book! Spectacular writing and wonderfully full and richly developed characters make this one a joy to read. I enjoyed the connection between these women and the way it was crafted in this book. We also get to see life behind the Hollywood or Beverly Hills gates. It's not as charming as we'd like to believe. The compassion, love and forgiveness are so intricately woven in this story, it's like having a soft blanket to catch you if you fall. This story just goes to show even stars have their secrets and mistakes. I didn't find any issues here. I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it's a wonderful story. Ever had a secret so deep you felt like you could never tell anyone else, I know I have. Well this is a story of three women who have and how they deal with them as they are revealed, for that is one thing that is true that secrets cannot be hidden forever.  Molly seems to have it all, wonderful career, husband and a loving family, but in many ways she has never  grown up and the it's not only the secrets she holds that hold her back and don't let her grow but also the ones that are revealed and through them she will become stronger in herself.  Norma has secrets too but she has dealt with them and not let them hold her back, they have still allowed her  to live, even if there was always that fear in the back of her mind she didn't let it stop her. Anne didn't think she was ever going to reveal her secret and she had made peace with that but circumstances force her to act, in her eyes she has too, and this action is actually the trigger that forces all these three ladies secrets out. The characters are incredibly in depth and the story draws you in as you become fully immersed in these women's  lives, families might fall apart but they can be put back together again and love that is lost may be found but  secrets will be revealed and how they are dealt with can show the depth of a persons character. Though sometimes it takes us a while to process and deal with them this is part of the growing process.  A wonderful book that will hold you enthralled, and entranced as you discover the secrets surrounding Molly Harper. I was totally hooked by this story and I'd definitely read more books about this family.  “I received a FREE copy of Molly Harper in exchange for my honest review”. Molly Harper is a captivating book soap opera featuring movie stars and paparazzi. The story is primarily about Molly who is a beautiful and famous movie star married to another movie star. But... neither her life nor her marriage are the fairy tales that they first appear to be. With each turn of the page, we follow her life as she seeks the path to finding herself. I wanted to shake her through much of the book, but we do get to watch her evolve into a more mature character. There are other minor stories within the pages. The author is quite talented at connecting the dots with other characters who do not seem linked at first. (She showed her expertise there with Duets, the prequel to Molly Harper.) There is a bit of romance within Molly Harper but this book is not essentially a romance.  While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend that Duets be read first. Duets introduces the main characters and the main story line. Duets is a short story and quite an engaging read on its own. Overall, I was totally hooked by this story and I'd definitely read more books about this family.  4 stars!
