Overview

Most Likely To Score by Lauren Blakely

It should have been a simple play...
She needed a football player to step up and be the star for a charity calendar. I needed a sharp and savvy publicist to manage a brand-new sponsorship deal. I scratched her back. She scratched mine. And oh hell, did Jillian ever drag her nails down my back on one hell of a hot night. Okay fine, it was several hot nights on the road.
Now we're back in town and it's time to set the play clock back to when we were simply player and publicist. Given the way the last few years have gone, I can't risk this deal, so it's hands off for us once again. Trouble is, I want more than than just another night with her.
What's a guy to do when he's always been most likely to score, but the woman he's falling for is just out of bounds?
***
I don't date players. And I definitely don't sleep with players. And I absolutely don't fall for a certain player when I get to know him and learn he's more than just sexy -- he's clever, funny and has a heart as big as his . .. well, you get my drift.
But my job is at stake, and I can't afford to lose that as well as my heart. The problem is, I think I've already lost that game.
What's a girl to do when the clock is running out, but the man she's falling for is off limits?

***ARC Provided by the Author*** I loved Jones and Jillian. Absolutely loved them, and their pets, and the rescue animals, the calendar and the kitten. At this point, writing a review of a Lauren Blakely title and stating that I loved it is, well, a little anticlimactic. We all know I loved it, because she is a fabulous writer who writes the sex, the romance, the characters, the supporting characters, and the scenes perfectly. When you have an author who hits perfection as consistently as Lauren Blakely, you know you are going to love everything you read by her. So, shockingly, I know, I loved Jones and Jillian's story. For all the reasons, but because I didn't want to put it down. Because I pretended to take a nap at my parent's house over Christmas weekend because I wanted to finish the book. Because I loved the adoption story of Jillian and loved that she is Chinese but it isn't a "thing" it is just who she is, and she is proud of it. I loved the writing, the flow of the story, the development of the romance, the relationship with other characters. I loved this book. I loved Jones and how hard he struggled to do the right thing, to not risk Jillian's reputation when all he really wanted was her. And, I laughed with him, and maybe a little at him, when he finally realized how much she really did mean to him. I recommend this title.

Loved Jillian and Jones so much! I did not want to put this book down and completely devoured it! This was the perfect sweet and lighter read I was looking for! Jillian was such a fantastic heroine! She was the perfect blend of hard and soft. She was driven and determined, but also sweet and vulnerable. Her dirty side surprised me, but it worked so wonderfully with Jones! Their chemistry was blazing hot and so, so yummy! I especially loved how the author incorporated Jillian's Chinese heritage into the story. I honestly do not think that I have ever read a romance with an Asian lead. The diversity was refreshing and I appreciated the author's note and personal connection to that aspect of the story. Jones. Where do I begin with Jones? He was AMAZING! So utterly swoon worthy and not at all like his player reputation. I really liked that his history was (for the most part) left entirely in the past and that there weren't random encounters/women flinging themselves at him in every chapter. From his behavior in the book, I would have never known he was previously such a manwhore - which means Jillian did her PR job very well! ;) There wasn't any unnecessary drama for our hero and heroine and there was just the right amount of angst. The epilogue (and extra epilogue) were so perfect and left me with a huge smile on my face! Another Lauren Blakely book not to be missed! *I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book*

This is an absolutely amazing book!! I adore Jones & Jillian so much! They have chemistry that is through the roof! I love how he messes with her during his photo shoot and I love how they both have the hots for each other but they don’t know it! That makes for some fun internal dialogues during the alternate POVs which I love!! Of course getting together would not be very smart or ideal since she is the publicist for his team and she is supposed to be helping to change his image. But then who ever said being smart is the best option? The storyline was fantastic as always and it had just the right amount of all the special ingredients we expect from Lauren’s books! And those epilogues, well they were just crazy wonderful!!

A Review of Most Likely To Score by Lauren Blakely Jones and Jillian - 5+++++ Stars Ms. Blakely definitely knows how to write a story that sucks you in and makes you feel like you are a part of the whole thing. I absolutely LOVED the chemistry between Jones and Jillian and how much both of them fought their feelings for each other for several years before things came to a head. The physical descriptions of both these characters was so strong and well developed that I could actually picture both of them in my minds eye. There were so many feels that kept me wanting to turn page after page and NOT wanting the story to end. Well played, Ms. Blakely, well played. **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**

Someone pass me a number 86 Renegades jersey because I have a new favorite player to root for. Most Likely to Score is everything I could have hoped for. After reading Most Valuable Playboy, I was desperate for Jones and Jillian's story. To say I was not disappointed would be a giant understatement. I LOVED it!! This book was super flirty and sweet. Not to mention hot!! (Ahem, fantasy enactment scene.) With Jillian Moore being the team's PR woman and Jones Beckett being the star wide receiver, the forbidden element was absolutely delicious. Labeled as the team's "player", Jones Beckett is in need of an image change to please his sponsors. Jillian comes up with an idea of a charity calendar that will help both Jones’s image as well as elevate her standing in her quest to earn the new VP position. The project causes them to travel and spend a lot of time together - including an overnight stay in another city. As time goes on feelings grow. Since she works for the team and he has a reputation, they know they shouldn't be together. The tension builds and it's was sooo good! Jones flirtatious nature, his charisma, and his charm, has made him one one of my favorites. The heart on that man gave me all the swoons. The player reputation and negative headlines do not take away what a great guy he is. He is a perfect counterbalance to Jillian. I completely adored her!! She is so smart and professional and she's not afraid to unleash her quick wit and sass. I loved loved loved their chemistry and their banter. Most Likely To Score is a perfect pass into the end zone for a game winning touchdown and I can't get enough of it. I kind of want to reread it immediately. Lovers of Lauren Blakely, sport romances, rom-coms or just really good stories should pick this book up ASAP. You won't be disappointed.

I’ve never been a huge fan of football, but I’m a groupie when it comes to sexy jocks written by the fabulous Lauren Blakely! Cooper and Violet were hot-as-sin in Most Valuable Playboy, and Jones and Jillian are every bit as enticing in her newest book, Most Likely to Score. Fans will love hearing that this storyline is loaded with the smoldering looks, flirtatious banter and explicit sexuality that this author is known for but I think the inclusion of Jones and Jillian’s extended family and the sweetly romantic epilogue will please old and new fans alike. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my unsolicited and voluntary review are completely my own.

Most Likely to Score by Lauren Blakely is a standalone contemporary romance that mixes sports and forbidden relationships perfectly. Featuring characters we met in her previous novel, Most Valuable Playboy, we are reunited with playboy receiver Jones Beckett who needs to clean up his image and the Renegades' team publicist, Jillian Moore. When we first met Jones and Jillian in the novel, Most Valuable Playboy, even from those brief scenes sparks were already flying between these two characters. So to have a novel focused entirely on their relationship had me jumping for joy. I love how smart, bold, and passionate Jillian is. She knows her mind and once she makes a decision, she acts. She also is a good person who loves her family, her friends and her work. She is a strong and admirable heroine and it is very easy to like her as you're reading the story. The same can be said for Jones. A good man with a big heart. Him and his little mutt (Chihuahua, Min Pin, and Dachschund mix) Cletus (plus Jones with all the other rescue animals like Smoky) are hard to resist. He definitely wins the award for best swoon-worthy hero for 2018 in my book. His commitment to his family, team, and four-legged friends is praiseworthy and makes him such a charming hero. Trying to fix is image and garner more contracts, sponsors, and advertising deals, Jones knows he needs to keep his personal life on the up and up. No scandals. This is especially true when the woman he's very much attracted to becomes his personal publicist, not just the team's. Will close proximity to each other bring Jones and Jillian closer or will it lead to a fallout that both have been trying to avoid. Overall, Most Likely to Score is an absolute delight and a must read. Filled with humor, warmth, and love this novel is one I most happily recommend. I can't wait to read more especially about Harlan and Katie. Another great novel by Lauren Blakely. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

Jones Beckett is cleaning up his act, long gone are his party boy ways. In order to help him stay on the straight and narrow his agents asks the Renegades publicist, Jillian to help. Jones is over the moon at the prospect of spending time with Jillian, his favourite past time is flirting with her. What neither of them really considered was the effect working in close proximity would have on their unrequited attraction. But what happens when they realise that attraction is mutual?    Lauren Blakely has done it again! I have fallen in love… again! Is there a book boyfriend of Lauren’s I haven’t fallen head over heels in love with? I don’t think there is. She just has this way with her male characters. I am a huge fan of her male POV, are we sure she’s not a man? She always gets it so spot on. That being said, I really loved that this book was a dual POV, getting insights into both Jones and Jillian really made their story stand out. I love the way Lauren writes, it always makes me feel such a vast array of emotions. I swoon often, which is a given really, sometimes even shedding a tear or two, and laugh, oh boy, do I laugh. She is hilarious, the thoughts and situations these characters come up with. I read this book and devoured it, I was hooked from the very first page, so much so, that I couldn’t pass up listening to the audiobook when it released today. I liked the cover a lot, especially the audiobook cover's inclusion of the narrators names. I like that it's similar to the MVP cover but still distinctly its own. Although it is a sports romance you don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy it. This is a story about love, a story about family, and a story about following your heart. Jones is all the things. He is sweet and sexy, funny and charming. Jillian is the ultimate professional, she’s the person you want on your team. As a football fan, I’m telling you, I want Jillian taking care of my guys. I loved that her outward appearance was the total opposite of how she really felt, especially where Jones was concerned. Her inner monologue was hilarious. The sexy times were timed so perfectly for this couple, they suited the story and the situation. They were steaming too. The way their relationship progressed was so very J&J. The way they tried to fight how they felt and neither knowing the other shared their feelings. There wasn’t a lot of conflict, which again, I really liked. The banter was pure perfection, I love that anyway, and Lauren Blakely always writes the best banter, this couple was no exception.  I looooove these characters. Jones and Jillian, it even has a nice sound to it, right? The supporting cast (so to speak) is really fun, too. It was great getting to have that little catch-up with Cooper and some of the other guys… and women from MVP. The family aspect of this book was a wonderful addition, it’s something that we see a lot of from athletes and including it for Jones’ really gave an added dimension to his character. Cletus, oh my word! Yes! I adore him so so much. I want him in my life.

Jillian Moore is use to handling difficult, it comes with the territory when you work in PR, but she has never known difficult quite like her new client Jones Beckett. He is a PR nightmare really, constantly in trouble, constantly partying and taking home random women, and his coaches have had enough, he either cleans up his image or he is out...so they bring in Jillian to get him back on the straight and narrow. While she isn't so happy about the new job, she is happy about the promise of a promotion so she reluctantly takes on the teams nightmare... and winds up finding a whole lot than she bargained for... Jones Beckett is trouble with a capital T!! Jones Beckett knows that he is treading on thin ice with the team and his coaches, he knows he shouldn't be partying and taking home random women, but he just can't seem to help himself, it's an addictive little habit he just can't seem to break. His coaches have warned him, gave him time to clean up his messes, but as of yet he hasn't held up his end of the bargain, so now they are bringing in PR guru Jillian Moore to help him get his nose clean. He is quite delighted with the fact that she is going to be hanging around him day in and day out, because then he might finally be able to get her to give him a chance, he has been admiring her for sometime now, and he'd love to have the chance to lure her into his bed... problem is she doesn't seem to know he is alive or show any interest! Most Likely To Score is a erotic little page turner that is sure to score a special place in the hearts of romance readers, with it's heartfelt emotion, naughty encounters, and exquisitely crafted characters you just can't go wrong with this one!! Between the pages of this one you will find two characters who are forbidden to get involved with one another, and both of them have a lot at stake, but neither of them can seem to keep their attraction for one another in check when they are near one another. Before long they are sneaking glances, lusting after each other, which ultimately leads to a little hooking up, and as much as they try to work one another out of their systems they just can't seem to let go... and that means some super sexy encounters for readers to enjoy!! I highly recommend you pick this one up, the minute these two wander onto to the page you will be completely mesmerized with them, and will find yourself quickly deciding that forbidden has never looked so good!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this tile.

I really, truly loved this story about NFL Renegades star player, Jones Beckett and the team publicist, Jillian Moore. Jones has been secretly attracted to Jillian ever since he first laid eyes on her when he started playing with the Renegades, but she acted unimpressed and disinterested. Nothing came of his interest and he moved on to other women, quickly earning himself a reputation as a good-time guy and a player, but Jillian always held a place in his heart even when he didn’t know it himself. Jillian had noticed Jones when he first came to the Renegades, her attraction to him was kept under wraps as she didn’t want it to interfere with her job. She takes her work seriously and is always trying to find ways to make the team look good. She wants to do a calendar shoot for animal charities and her boss suggest that Jones would be the perfect model. Being forced to work together finally gives them the chance to get to know one another properly and as time passess, Jillian realizes she was wrong about Jones. Yes, he’s a lady-killer, and a huge flirt, but he also has a huge heart a well as those BIG hands. I really adored all things Jones. He was sexy as sin, but fun and flirty too, it’s no wonder Jillian finds him so tempting. So, when she gives in, she is all in. Heart and soul. There isn’t a tremendous amount of angst in this story, it just all boiled down to belief and conviction. Of knowing what you to do over what you should do. I’m looking forward to maybe getting some more stories from this series. Harlan needs one for sure. Trevor too. I thoroughly recommend this book to Lauren Blakely fans, new and old.

I loved this charming, steamy, forbidden romance! Jones and Jillian have worked together for the same football organization for years. They have also been attracted to each other all that time. Neither has acted on that attraction, always being totally professional, well at least Jillian was. Sexy wide receiver Jones was always outrageous, trying to get Jillian to go out with him. But now Jones needs to clean up his reputation. He and publicist wiz, Jillian, work closely on a project to help with that. They soon are unable to deny their fiery attraction. But when they have to keep it a secret, it takes a toll on them both. Jones and Jillian are both wonderful characters that are caring, thoughtful and fun. I loved them both along with their loving, and supportive family and friends. Ms. Blakely creates mature, witty characters who are socially conscious, work hard, and play even harder. Their world is a place I love to visit and feel apart of. This is a heartwarming, fun and sexy romance that you will want to read again and again!

Most Likely To Score is yet another out of this world delightful story by Lauren Blakely about a love that can't be denied. Jones Beckett as the very talented wide receiver and former playboy would like nothing more than to clean up his image with the help of one Jillian Moore, publicist for his football team. These two have been secretly lusting for the other for more months than either of them wish to admit and as they find themselves spending more time together for the good of Jones's reputation, they get to see each other in a different light and somehow they fall even harder for one another. A few days in Miami for a calendar shoot turns into a 'one-time' tryst that Jones and Jillian can't help but savor and soon they wonder if they'll be able to still keep things platonic once they are back home. Once again, I love how the author doesn't play games with her characters. There is plenty of angst in just having Jones and Jillian trying to stay away from each other, knowing they could jeopardize both of their careers if they suddenly exposed their affection to the public. My heart broke for both of them as each look of longing or slight touch when others were present had to be kept private. They both wanted to put their hearts on the line but at what cost? The playfulness between Jones and Jillian is full of respect and desire and it was a joy to watch as they try and figure out a way to be together for more than just a weekend. And of course, no Lauren Blakely book would be complete without the requisite scene-stealing animal, since they always find a way into both our hearts and those of her characters. In addition, the symbolism used with respect to Jillian's Chinese heritage was a welcomed bonus. Writing about something that is close to the author's heart gave this story that true cherry on top. It's those kinds of details that set her apart and why I truly adore her work. 5 solid stars!!

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title** I love Lauren Blakely's writing and her books are among some of my favorites. Most Likely To Score is at the top of my favorites list, not only for books by Blakely, but in general. I enjoyed this book from the very first page. Jones Beckett is an NFL star receiver for the Renegades. He's got the looks, the talent and yep, he's got the ladies falling at his feet too, but he's at the point where he is starting to care more about his image off the field as much as his performance on it. But, he's going to need some help to rehab his image and the team has just the person to help him out. Jillian Moore is the PR aficionado that the team has appointed to help Jones rehab his image. She's bright, smart, witty, professional, driven and beautiful. She knows she has her hands full with the receiver, but what she learns is that he is much more than the charming, flirty, sexy guy that he's always portrayed as. While he is those things, he also has a huge heart and when you get to know him, he's not at all like the media believes. Jones and Jillian are each harboring crushes, but neither thinks the other will reciprocate. Will these two eventually get out of their own way to see if something real could develop? I loved the characters of Jillian and Jones. I fell in love with both of them separately and then with them together. Jones was so much more than most people saw and I loved that soft side that Jillian brought out in him. I have always been a fan of Lauren Blakely, but this one is definitely on the top of my favorites list and it is easily one of the best books I read this year!

Such a fun read! Lauren Blakely writes cocky alpha males with a heart of gold like nobody's business--and Jones is no exception! I loved reading this story from both his and Jillian's POVs, watching each of them struggle with their feelings for each other, weighing whether or not the reasons for them being apart were enough to keep them that way. (Spoiler alert--they're not, thank goodness!) The behind-the-scenes look at making a hot-guy-with-pets calendar was a fun touch, and definitely had me wishing it wasn't fictional so I could get my own copy. I'd be hard pressed to say whether I enjoyed the scenes with Jones and his dog Cletus (OMG! Cletus!), Jones and his family, or jones and Jillian more--okay, Jones and Jillian totally win out, but trust me, it's a narrow margin because those other two categories score high on the sigh-meter. Seriously, this book was pretty unputdownable from start to finish, because of Jones. And Jillian. And Cletus. I was mildly disappointed with Jones when he has his freak-out moment, because it seemed a little bit lame, but since it led to a fabulous, ebook-highlight-worthy declaration, I quickly forgave him. I'm not sure how I missed Jones's teammate Cooper's story ( Most Valuable Playboy ), but you'd better believe it's on my TBR now. Fingers crossed that there are more books to come for the rest of their single teammates--go, Renegades! ;) Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A- I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

One day, Ms. Blakely, one day I'd like for you to challenge yourself by writing a hero who is completely unworthy, completely unswoony, and completely uncaring. Maybe this could be a New Year's Resolution? If not for 2018, maybe 2019? I mean, I'm not a writer but I always hear it's good to challenge yourself at things. Because really, I’m running out of room on my Blakely Book Boyfriend Shelf. Jones is so big, so full of life, he’s taking up a lot of space. I loved that family was front and center in this book. I love when characters have happy and loving families, when they all genuinely like each other. Family drama can be all well and good, and can even serve a purpose in some books, but it’s nice to see moms and dads, brothers and sisters, not just getting along, but loving each other and wanting what’s best for each other. Jillian and Jones had really great families. And I loved that family was important to both of them. Jones and Jillian are a terrific couple. Their banter and teasing and flirting was so fun and entertaining. Even though they were harboring feelings for the other they tried so hard to not overstep any boundaries, it was very admirable. I liked that they didn’t push things, what was happening between them was very natural and real. When their feelings got to be too much and they just couldn’t fight it any longer, it was HOT! But it was sweet, too. You could tell they liked and respected the other and didn’t want any problems to come from their relationship. I loved that there wasn’t any unnecessary drama between them, nothing to cause heartache or pain. When they realized their feelings couldn't be pushed aside they took ownership and did the right thing. Most Likely to Score is just a really sweet, really enjoyable story.

sweet, sexy and entertaining MOST LIKELY TO SCORE by Lauren Blakely is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, erotic, romance sports story line focusing NFL wide receiver Jones Beckett, and San Francisco Renegade PR director Jillian Moore. Told from dual first person perspectives (Jillian and Jones) MOST LIKELY TO SCORE follows the forbidden relationship between San Francisco Renegade’s wide receiver, and manwh*re Jones Beckett, and the team’s PR director Jillian Moore. For months Jillian and Jones have been dancing around one another, the sexual attraction palpable and edgy but with Jones’ reputation drowning in off-field one-night stands Jillian Moore is called in to clean up his notoriety and fame in the public eye. What ensues is the building love and romance between Jillian and Jones, and the potential fall-out when their relationship is revealed to the people in charge. Jillian Moore has had a crush on Jones Beckett for as long as she could remember but his reputation with the ladies precedes his introduction to the woman with whom he is falling in love. Believing Jones is out of her league, Jillian struggles with her attraction to the man with whom she begins a close, personal relationship. The relationship between Jillian and Jones is one of immediate attraction; a forbidden love between two San Francisco Renegade employees but a love that grows stronger as their relationship climbs. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate with the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Jones’ Renegade teammates, front office personnel, media reporters, sponsors, agents and numerous fans. We are introduced to Jillian’s best friend Kate, as well as her father Aaron Moore; and Jones’ brothers Trevor. The world building follows the relationship between our leading couple, as well as the public relations nightmare of a PR director as it pertains to a star athlete. The story line conflict is minimal as most of the issues are part of a preconceived notion about other people’s reaction to co-workers dating on the job. MOST LIKELY TO SCORE is a sweet, sexy and entertaining story line. The premise is Inviting and engaging; the characters are charismatic and energetic; the romance is enthusiastic and captivating.

Having read other books by Lauren Blakely before, I knew that her stories are always filled with great characters and Most Likely To Score didn’t disappoint at all. From the sexy cover to the intriguing synopsis, Blakely delivered a great forbidden romance between a sports star and the team’s publicists. At the beginning of the story we get to meet Jillian Moore, a publicist whose only goal right now is to focus on her career and nothing else. Though she gets to see extremely good looking players all the time, she is able to put work first before anything else and that’s exactly how she earns the respect of everyone in the team/field. But Jillian has been keeping a secret crush on one of the players for a while now and the fact that he seemed to always flirt with her could get them both in trouble. When she needs someone to be part of a photoshoot she asks him for his help, but it’s the sexual tension and chemistry between them that ultimately brakes all the barriers. It is after spending time together that they truly get to know each other and their feelings turn into so much more. Jones Beckett is a pro at what he does, he is a good in the field and he also happens to be good with the ladies. He has a reputation of being a womanizer, but those days are long over after the team’s publicists steps in to help him revamp his image. Despite working together there is something about Jillian that Jones can’t seem to stay away from. Every time he tries to make a move on her, she completely shots him down, but he is determined to win her over one way or another. But it’s after spending a couple of nights together that he finds himself feeling so much more for her than he imagined and now he has to figure out how to keep her before it’s too late. I really liked the characters in the story, Jones is funny and charming. On the other hand, Jillian is a total workaholic who happens to have a cute crush on a really hot player. Their personalities compliment each other so well and their chemistry was sizzling! Jones is a truly sweet guy and he shows that throughout the book. But eventually their work is what tests them and they have to decide if pursuing a relationship is worth it knowing that risk of losing their jobs. Although that is the major obstacle that they have to face, there is really not a lot of drama or conflict in the story. I felt that the story was missing something to take it to the next level. I still enjoyed reading the ending, it was sweet and will most definitely leave you wanting for more. I would highly recommend reading this book and others by the author you will not regret it. ;) ***ARC provided for blog purposes in return for an honest review.***

It's a man's world, but it don't mean nothing without a good woman. James Brown had it right. No truer words have ever been said. Lauren Blakely lays out the full package with Most Likely to Score. When it comes to seduction this author never fumbles. Not only do Jillian and Jones score in the romance department, but they land a touchdown in the most memorable characters category as well. Jillian is a woman with her feet planted firmly on the ground, but her heart resides in the clouds. A secret crush, a difficult career and a playboy client don't make her life any easier. Jones has his career on the line and his heart at risk. Can he play the most important game of his life without losing it all? The Game is on and the winning point is at hand. Who will be Most Likely to Score?
