Awesomely finishes the storyline arc that began with Must Love Kilts! Must Love More Kilts by Angela Quarles is a fun, exciting and swoony Highland romance. It is the fourth book in the author’s “Must Love” series and the second book in the narrative arc involving the Campbell sisters who time travel back in time to Scotland on a bet to prove whether hot guys in kilts are a myth or a legend. If you are a newbie to Angela’s Must Love series, I would highly recommend that you read the previous installment, Must Love Kilts, before diving into this entry as this entry finishes the storyline which began with that book. Thus, Must Love More Kilts begins where Must Love Kilts ended, at Dungarbh Castle, stronghold of the MacCowans on Loch Garry, Scotland in 1689 during the reign of James II, right before William of Orange comes to power. First of all, you must understand that Fiona loves history and especially her family’s history. History is her forte, her claim to fame and the only thing she feels she excels at. With that in mind, Fiona’s life has taken on new purpose since that fateful night with Duncan. As Fiona was exploring Duncan’s very fine physique, she was shocked to discover the very scar and tattoo on his torso which marked him as the MacCowan warrior of her favorite family legend - the warrior who her grandpappy said the Fiona of old would stop from killing her ancestor. In a cruel twist of fate, Fiona realizes that she must be that Fiona of old, leaving Fiona with a terrible dilemma. She’s in love with Duncan, but she and Traci will cease to exist if she does not stop him. So, without explanation – as how could she explain this to Duncan? - Fiona abruptly flees their bed before they consummate their marriage. The couple does not speak of the incident afterwards. But, when another Highlander wants to take Fiona as his wife, Duncan’s heart reacts with jealousy, and the couple embark on a wild and gripping adventure. I loved both of these main characters! Fiona and Duncan are strongly attracted to each other but each refuses to follow their heart for differing reasons. Fiona believes she can’t allow Duncan into her heart as the legend must trump her feelings. Duncan, badly hurt by another woman to whom he gave his heart, and now abandoned by Fiona when she was seemingly repulsed by his scar, believes that he’s unwanted by any woman and doomed to be alone forevermore. He has vowed to hold the keys to his heart close forevermore. Can they learn to trust and break down the seemingly impenetrable wall between them? It’s not at all clear they can… Mary Jane Wells returns to narrate Must Love More Kilts. She’s one of my favorite narrators and never fails to deliver a polished, professional performance. As with the previous installments, her narration is nothing short of superb. The author’s entire Must Love series is beyond fantastic. Every installment has merited top marks from me. I love how Angela blends romance, paranormal and history into a fun, engrossing and passionate tale that you won’t want to put down until the last word has been read. I can’t wait to see where Angela takes this series next! My full review is published at Reading Between the Wines Book Club. Please check it out there!

I didn't like this story as much the last book in the series (Must Love Kilts). Fiona just seemed annoying to me and it kind of soured the book for me. Duncan was just an ok hero for me, nothing to make him standout from anyone else in the book. I'm hoping the next book by Quarles is back up to par with her other stories.

If you enjoy stories with great characters, Must Love More Kilts will to Duncan, a handsome Highland warrior with great success in battle but painful experiences in love, and Fiona, a modern-day woman with great hopes but greater insecurities. As their relationship develops they each must find a way to trust the other and let go of their misconceptions. Kudos to Angela Quarrels for giving this couple the time needed to fall in love without rushing them to bed. The plot was well-paced and the history (both actual and alternate) put you right in the middle of the action.

I enjoyed this because I love time travel romance. I like Duncan because he tries so hard to put his foot down when dealing with Fiona, but he's not mean or hateful just a little bullheaded at times. I like Fiona because she is independent, determined and she has just enough history knowledge to be a little dangerous. Duncan is really a gentle bear of a man and tries to fight the feeling he has for her. The have 300 years of knowledge, normalcy to tackle and it was interesting how they bridge that gap as the build a new love. Great historical romance with a mystery twist, secrets and sexiness!

'MUST LOVE MORE KILTS' by Angela Quarles is Book Four in the "Must Love" Series. This is the story of Fiona Campbell and Duncan MacCowan. I have read the other books in this series (and loved them) and you can make this a standalone book..but know this book does have reference to the other story line in the previous book. Fiona loves history and specially her families history. Fiona and her sister time traveled back in time to Scotland, 1689 where she met Duncan and handfasts with him. But on their wedding night she sees a tattoo/scar that she knows from learning her family history is that the person that hurts her family bares such a symbol. Duncan doesn't understand why Fiona left him on their wedding night, he thinks she is disgusted by his scar. Which just enforces that he should trust women and he made another mistake. But these two have feelings for each other that they can't turn their backs on. Can they get past their issue and find their happy ending? Another great story by Ms. Quarles! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Duncan MacGowan is the third in command of the clan He has fallen in love with Fiona. Fiona Campbell and her sister are from the future, about three hundred years, more or less. I loved this story. The three islets that make up the castle, the lush green countryside, the different kinds of trees, all bring you into the tale. The people are realistic and the dialogue is believable. It is exciting and the interaction between the main characters is not only gentle and full of insecurities, but also very lusty. The author has out done herself with this wonderful book of the conflicts, loves and danger of 1689 Scotland. Fiona has come back to fulfill her destiny as she sees it and her sister has married Iain the clan chief. There is a lot going on, it keeps your interest and you really don't want to put the book down.

I am voluntarily submitting my honest review after the author so generously provided me with an ARC copy of the ebook via Book Funnel. Thank you!!! I thoroughly enjoyed Must Love More Kilts. The plot is lively and interesting, and the characters are multi-faceted and engaging. The novel is full of the magic and romance of the Scottish Highlands, with lots of steamy sex scenes between a strong, alpha male warrior and a strong, independent, modern American woman tossed back in time. The sweetness of the romance, however, is tempered with just the right amount of Quarles' signature brand of wit and humor. Must Love More Kilts is the fourth book in a series, but because all except the last two are primarily set in different locations and time periods, they can be read as stand alone novels. Reading at least the third book (Must Love Kilts), before reading this one, however, would provide the backdrop that would make this novel more enjoyable. While not a prerequisite to comprehending the plot to Must Love More Kilts, I do recommend all of the books in the series just because they are enjoyable, good reads.

There is no doubt that Ms. Quarles has a vivid imagination. Her true talent however, is taking readers along for the ride on her adventurous tales. This time around the journey begins in Scotland, 1689. Fiona, gets up close and personal with her past, when she's thrust back in time. She meets her legendary ancestor, but loses her heart along the way. This is Angela Quarles, so there's always a thought provoking twist that throws readers for a loop. Will she listen to her head or follow her heart? A complex romance that stirs the brain as it lays claim to the heart. Magically thrilling.
